It is kinda jumping the gun a big to assume something's gona be garbage or a let down though when from what we've seen so far looks pretty competent (like it's no AVPR).

I can get behind say, boycotting Star Wars movies since they have been consistently garbage (for me), but Alien and Predator are such a mixed bag. Different basically everything ( story, director, actors, timelines).

I'll definitely be catching it in the cinema.

THEN I can bitch

After being tricked into buying a ticket for Prometheus, I vowed: never again.

And yet you're here all the time, replying to every thread. You must be severely raring to see it as soon as possible, is the only way.

The marketing is intended to make people want to watch the movie. If it fails to do that, there is no "too early".

For me it was the A Nightmare on Elm Street remake. It made me appreciate that just because I was a fan of a franchise didn't mean I needed to pay for an entry I had issues with. I can be a fan and actively engaged without mindless consumerism.

You already lost your True Fan™ bonafides when you decided not to buy that Aliens documentary.

According to Colin Strause I lost it 17 years ago when I didn't think AvPR was the coolest. I've been a Faux Fan since.

Local Trouble

I bet Colin Strause revoked a lot of True Fan™ bonafides back then.

I mean you can't really gleam much off that teaser although it does look a bit try hardy. Tough to tell. I usually don't catch anything in the cinema these days ( apart from Dune and the likes).

Good excuse to go 🔥

Local Trouble

Will you tell us if it's a bit shit?

My only point is it's up to individuals how they react to marketing.

If they decide not to go, then the marketing has failed. It's up to the marketing to show enough to communicate enough to convince people to go.

Maybe later trailers will change people's minds. Maybe they won't. But it's up to them what they think, and people really need to back off and understand that everyone is going to make their own decisions and that's fine.

That's completely up to the people who seem to struggle with the concept. Everyone else is happy to move on.
