Great find! So the pic of the astronaut woman may not be of Noomi Rapace, but of Rosie Jones. The "Weylan" patch on her arm is no coincidence. This could be a part of some viral marketing tie-in to Prometheus.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

On the other side it has the Egyptian wings of the original Nostromo crew shirts. ADC and the gang are huge fans of Alien (he's doing the Alien Encounters documentary and organizing the 25 Years of Aliens convention) so a lot of the work they do will often be influenced by Alien.

I wonder if Cameron wanted to correct it after having a chat about its origins with Ron Cobb who worked on Aliens and came up with the Weylan-Yutani name

Did Ron Cobb work on ALIENS as well? I thought it was only Sid Mead,but I might be wrong.
My answer to the mistery of the added "D" is probably that somebody in the production of ALIENS made a typo and passed that info over to Cameron without him noticing.They probably noticed the mistake later on,but didn´t bother to  change it since it´s hardly noticeable,except for the hardcore fans! 

I hope Ridley puts it back to Weylan, I really do.

Me too.But don´t think James Cameron will be too happy about that if it happens! 

Actually,we still don´t know if the "Company" in PROMETHEUS is even called WEYLAN/D-YUTANI or something completely different.We´ll have to wait ´till more details come out.

Don´t think it´s a part of a viral campain tie-in to Prometheus,more like a coincidence.That pic of Rosie Jones is actually from a short film project called "We are one" http://www.facebook.com/RosieOnMars posted on line by somebody as a prank to make believe it´s from Prometheus.

OK, that last facebook link makes it all a little clearer.  I guess this We Are One short was done by filmmakers who are just Aliens fans themselves (a giveaway is that one character in that movie is Dan O Bannon)
