I was just on the IMDb boards and noticed that user, Crewsally, had posted a link to a page on the British Board of Film Classification. According to that article a 23 minute Making-Of Alien vs Predator Documentary (for a potential DVD) has gained a 15 certificate in the UK.
This has definitely lifted my spirits as I presumed a PG-13 rating equals a 12-certificate. This means that the movie must at least receive a 15 in the UK but there is still a chance that it will get a PG13 in the US.

This 23 min documentary might be the 30 hour behind the scenes special on thursday Aug 12 on FOX.that sounds kinda right to me but i might be wrong.Now i havnt been able to find any info on the exact time this special will be aired on Fox but we should be informed soon, most likely by the end of the month.I remember when Fox advertised there Day after tomm. half hour special like 2 weeks before the actual air date so i guessing we will know by the end of next week, and hopefully we'll have the final rating by then to.

Well well, Guys might i remind ya that this is a " DOCUMENTARY " not the real thing, If the documentary is 15, it is even higher than 13 !! And still this is just a documentary, not all gore or suspense or coars language. This thing might be R ! Something is happening here, we might be surprised in a good way. Cuz I doubt that a documentary will be higher rated than the movie itself. Remember, the documentary is 15, not the film itself.

Sure, id prefer R but whatever...we see a chestbursting through predator vision. And this is ALIEN vs PREDATOR....thats what we want to see aliens and predators fighting. The humans are just fodder. Sure I want them to see as much blood and gore as possible, but remember, this is an action film with horror undertones. Not the other way around. Too many people hear AvP and they make up this whole idea in their head of what the movie should be. \"well alien, aliens, A3, AR, Predator, and P2 were rated R, therefor avp will\" - this was always the funniest argument. It just goes to show you also, avp is a different kind of movie. We have been told over and over its action oriented, just watch the trailers and see the huge explosions, the slow mo of the predator throwing the alien, the super long wrist blade extensions....does that look SCARY to you? No, its pulse pumping excitement, which is why PG13 can work. And I know the site says its not rated, and mpaa.org still doesnt have it listed up, but how long will you people ignore the facts? It was on the end of the trailer I saw on tv, trust me, its real.
Well I was on the MPAA site and it still has nothing about the movie being rated yet. I checked it and yet again put AVP and nothing. So its not offical yet I live in America so I guess its different in the UK. I do feel sorry that you have to wait until October though that sounds kind of stupid.
fewwww, I feel better knowing thats its a 15 in my homeland of the good old UK, cause I remember watching bad boys 2 also rated 15, it had tons of swearing/gore/nudity he he it probably should have been an 18. Yes around 60% of 15s in the UK are R in America, although it seems that it is PG13 if people have seen the trailer in the US. Put it this way I guess you have to watch and find out how it turns out. I always thought cause its more Alien/Predator fighting they can get away with it, but its only Human deaths that cause the rating to go up.

But watch the movie before you judge it.

To people who still see the 'this film is not yet rated" sign... I bet Fox got sick of people asking about the rating, so they rushed the new commercial out to the fox related stations to give the fans the final proof they need. (then just let all the other stations and the official website lag behind). The rating was *most definitely* there during MadTV(fox)'s commercial break.
I just saw that exact same tv spot on Mad TV and indeed it said pg-13. I'm at a lost for words. I'm so pissed right now that I could go on a rampage. I was hoping that AVP was gonna get an R-rating so that we could see some serious bloodshed, but now that looks highly unlikely. I don't know about any of you, but I did not wait 14 years to see a watered-down Alien/Predator movie that could have been decent. This is terrible news, especially for gore maniacs like myself. C'mon this is ALIENS & PREDATORS going to war with humans in the middle- how can you possibly have little or no chestbursting, spine ripping, acid blood, brains getting pierced with wristblades, intestines getting torn from the bodies, all with a PG-13 rating and still expect to be a good entertaining movie? Exactly, YOU CANT!!! So, it wouldn't surprise me one damn bit if we, (as loyal fans), walk into AVP, watch it, and come out of the theater very dissapointed. Well i saw that traila on 5 different channels, fox, teletoon, tsn, mtv, and i dont remember the last one. And they all said that it was not yet rated. None said that it was R NOR 13. So its not official yet. And about those sites that says its R or 13, we had ALOT of these few weeks back remember?? We shouldnt believe a site exep the avp-movie.com. They will tell us what is goin on. I wont trust any other film site, i dont care if its the official site of the US, for me they r just like the 20 or so other sites that said that it was R , 13, R, 13 ... This unfortunately is maybe goin in for a 13. But if the documentary is 15 ??? and the film 13??!! man i will want to see that documentary. And even if its 13, we will see alot of gore, most of the gore in tha book is alien and pred, not much of red blood. Some scenes yes but not that much. AR should had been 13, just like A3. And P1, for alot of ppl, these were 13 material, not R . Violence is everywhere on tv, kids r now ok with it. I dont think that gore will make a rating switch that much, a " f**k " will, but maybe not gore anymore. There wont be any sexual thing in this, nor many coarse language, just 2 aliens beating the crap out of each other, with a lil ketchup on top of that.
