I don't think this exactly warrants a thread of its own, but I also couldn't think of a particular catch-all thread where it would have fit, so:

A thread on its own is fine, NA. No idea what this is for!

I distinctly remember Tristan telling me about a boss monster he was working on a few years back and I'm pretty sure it was for Fireteam Elite. Don't know if this the same thing.

Nightmare Asylum

If it was Fireteam Elite, maybe it was for a scrapped expansion, given his comments and the project not seeing the light of day?

I think it was when Fireteam Elite was supposed to be a more expansive game. I do remember Tristan mentioning some involvement with it.

This was a long while before the game was released.

Nightmare Asylum

I totally forgot that Fireteam Elite was originally reported as being something way different than what we got. I'm recalling now the initial announcements feeling almost Destiny-like, as opposed to what we got which was more or less scaled way down to Left 4 Dead.

Fireteam Elite wasn't originally supposed to be an Alien game. It was just a generic space zombie shooter. Hence the weird classes, the new armor, backpack sentry guns, etc. At some point they got the Aliens license and just changed the zombies to Aliens and pasted pulse rifles over top their earlier guns.

Hmm, I haven't heard this before and it doesn't seem to line up with it being announced as an Alien title years before release, but I could have missed something along the way.
