So, I heard mappers were still making maps today.
Something about a little Singleplayer campaign project I'm working on.

@x-M-x: I'll make sure to let you know!

@Windebieste: I think the oldest .ed (prefabs) are 4 years old. I've tried plenty of things during the years and was thinking toward the end to pack up everything around an original storyline for SP. Something about waking up in a prison and destroying an atmosphere processor to blow up a base  ;D But I'll say no more for now!

@Corporal Hicks: Thank you very much! Maps aren't close to be finish for now, but I'm gonna need beta tester for sure  ;)


My only complain at the time was that I was unaware you could import .obj geometry from your favorite 3D soft (3DS, C4D, Maya, blablabla) which greatly help to deal with dat nazty trianglesssssss!
It's a piece of cake now to create large scale and complexe geometry like Karinoke did for Island of Chateau D'IF.

In term of geometry, I would say I have 70% done (the prison part isn't done yet).
There are here and there a few corridors to add and some cave/canyon to do. Nothing very hard.

In term of scripting... AI, Triggers, events, blablabla 0%

It's pretty dark for the moment and lack a lot of details.

Hey,

I had the opportunity to DEdit a bit, got some progress on the prison:





It's a bit empty for the moment, I'm trying to fill it with geometry and lights first, prop will come later since they are pretty unnecessary gameplay items and just participate to the beauty.

I admit though I've been a bit lazy on this room, it serves storyline and gameplay perfectly but the design is... less intriguing and I copied the orange pipes from blue2_error.ed which I believe is from PsyKore?

Lazy lazy me, I wish I had more time though.
I'm a bit over-saturated by work. Should be better in a week or two.

I had some time to brainstorm on the story itself, it's pretty basic but I think you'll like it.
I think it's going to be a campaign of two maps. I really want to take the end of the SP in space but I can't change the skybox in the same map so I'll have to make two separated maps, which means campaign.
I wanted to make a final in something that ressemble an Alien like space station, a mix between gateway and Sebastopol in terms of design (I got great references now).

I also made some sample easy basic yet to become atmosphere processor:



(It doesn't render out there but it's really uberly HUGE).
