Yeah, I found the conclusion of Asset Zero pretty cliche and not very realistic at all. Synthia's character just turned from interesting to something very meh!

They shouldn't have been wanting to return it to Earth, but to some other secret base they had. But I'd love to see some more implications of the Marines now having this technology at their disposal!

There is just a mad man pulling strings on a human populous that bends to his will. Thats all. and its probably Lex Luthor.

Imagine the Engineer's ship arrives at the Earth orbit.

Literally all military forces and other organizations: What is it? It's dangerous? What we should to do with it?
WY: Hey-hey-hey. Stop guys. It's our secret property. Get out and don't ask.

Ha, I don't think what this will works. ::)

So when you're shutting her down, an announcement comes overhead saying "Attention. Prepare Asset Zero for activation and evacuation. Uploading operating procedures... now."

I've never been able to hear this message and I've been too busy shooting shit to read it in the subtitles. But reading it now on a YouTube playthrough, it does seem to confirm that she's just trying to get the company secrets out of our reach.

Correct. Thats  what i got out of it too. She neither alluded eternal damnation on the human race, nor did she state the intentions weren't in favour for the company.

That's all really from The RPG and Alex White's books, not this, primarily anyway.

Which I kind of pointed out. What I'm saying is that I like how they wove it all together in this game. I like the way it was portioned out throughout the game on all fronts.

Actually my favorite part about this game is the story and where it's heading. They really do a great job at world-building (yeah, I know, it's more like coherent compilation and continuation rather than original ideas, but still...well done). I especially like the history and present of the political climate, factions, alliances, whereabouts etc. during the era of A:FTE - very rich, detailed and believable. And just like mentioned by previous forum members the initial game only started the storyline. We have yet to visit Pala Station and we all know that there will be be some nasty skirmishes between human Factions down at the surface.

I really hope we get to see UPP soldiers at some point - would be sweet to see their armored spacesuits with wrist-mounted guns in action.

What makes me feel positive about them being able to finish the storyline is that the game is selling really well, so there probably will be plenty of more content to come.

Anyways, I really dig the story and premise of this game (just wish that the game was scary and suspenseful with less super human-like Marines).

SN/TH/YA is trying to protect company secrets, so she sends security synths after us and infects the WY staff with pathogen to keep us from going deeper into the ruins.

She justifies killing the staff and trying to kill us because... the ruins are dangerous? Does she or the company think we could lead to the pathogen getting off world and endangering greater numbers of humans? Or is she convinced that the company's work is for the greater good and is worth killing to protect?

Then when we're shutting her down, she activates the engineer ship full of pathogen to send it to Earth. ...Why? Is this just a way of taking the bulk of company secrets and shipping them off-world to be collected later? Why send it toward Earth then? Why not send it to a different station or remote location?

There's lots of dialogue with Esther about the Zeroth Law and why SN/TH/YA dissuades us, attacks us, and kills WY staff, but the only dialogue I recall explaining the ship going to Earth is when Santos says "SN/TH/YA loaded that thing with an assload of Pathogen, and was sending it toward Earth. Could be Weyland-Yutani would've recovered it safe and handled it all responsible-like... Yeah, I can't sat that with a straight face."

yeah, I think the writers should engage users more with the aftermath with Snthya as that is still a little puzzling to me.
At firstin the 2nd campaign i thought she wanted to save us or by inaction prevent us from reaching too many artifacts that would lead to our doom.
Then by the third campaign it seemed it a bit blurry in terms of the narrative. Nothing contradictive but more story is needed. Then in the 4rth campaign there wasn't much information about Snthya at all. Which leads me to believe there is quite abit more plot to this dimension than we should have with all four campaigns. I think we really need a new campaign which brings us face to face with synthya. We still haven't even seen her yet.

Presumably, i dont really know where she is. It seems like she is in contact with the team through radio/decoded transmissions, but we dont know if she is on the planet.
What do you all think?

Like PHG, if this were a movie, we got about 1/8th of the story.
