Was there an article that came out a while back that mentioned Ridley Scott was inspired by "alien: isolation" and helped convince him that the alien could be scary again? Or am I crazy??

If there was an article, can someone post a link here? I can't find it :-/

You might be thinking of Blomkamp. He mentioned something like that in an interview with IGN, I think.

Yeah, Blomkamp was really taken with Alien: Isolation. He was even considering doing his film in the same retro tech style. He also hired at least one of Isolation's concept artists as well.

I think it was Wayne Haag who mentioned that Scott hadn't played or seen Alien: Isolation at the time they were in pre-production on Covenant.

Here's the Blomkamp interview:

Yeah, Callum Watts, I think.
