Uncanny Omar does it again.
Predator: The Original Years Omnibus Volume 1 coming in August 2021
The DM cover is the cover to the first ever Predator comic and I am glad to say that the regular cover is not by Greg Land. But by Iban Coello. He has done great work on the current Venom run.
It's a nice cover.
*Amended title. Hicks.
Awesome! Will have to pre-order it as soon as it's up on amazon ;D
Wow is that all Marvel can do? Just reprints?

Wow is that all Marvel can do? Just reprints?
Nope. Their original press release confirmed that they have original material coming in 2021, though they haven't announced any of it specifically yet.
Cover by Iban Coello
(https://www.avpgalaxy.net/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2020/11/predcovermarvel-488x700.jpg)
And Direct Market variant by Chris Warner
(https://www.avpgalaxy.net/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2020/11/predcovermarvel2-467x700.jpg)
So those anthology comics are going to be -
DHP #46 is God's Truth
DHP #67-69 is issue 0 of Race War
DHP #119 is No Beast So Fierce
Dark Horse Comics #1-2 is Rite of Passage
Dark Horse Comics #10 - 14 is I think Pride at Nghasa and the Bad Blood prequel
Dark Horse Comics #16 - 18 is The Hunted City
Dark Horse Comics #20 - 21 is Blood on Two-Witch Mesa
A Decade of Dark Horse #1 is 1718
Doesn't look like there's any blow-away first time reprints this time around. But still a damn good collection, and another big one.

He did this cool piece recently -
I don't think Predator 2 was ever collected.
It was collected in the Essentials #1.
Hicks, the vid I posted is not in the article on the main page. The wrong one is posted up.
Also. You are right. That pic you posted is awesome.
I wonder if this is an indication that Iban may be our Predator penciler in Marvel's upcoming run.
I'm blaming RidgeTop. I've fixed that.
Got to go with that Chris Warner cover!
Tristan should look into that cover
Nice lineup for the first omnibus. We knew they'd exclude the DC crossovers, did we know they'd exclude the Magnus Robot Fight Valiant crossover?
Hell and Hot Water was actually fully released before DHP 124, but I assume the exclusion from this omni might be due to page constraints?
What is a genuinely disappointing exclusion is the Hunting the Heroes stories: Predator vs X/Motorhead/Ghost/Agents of Law. I know those characters are still owned by Dark Horse, but this is probably DH's only opportunity to create some (minor) reprint revenue off those short stories. I guess one side (or both) didn't want to do business on this one.
Good find guys, that cover looks rad. I might be wrong but all the Darkhorse Press stuff was collected in the Omnibuses right?
Some of those DHP stories i dont think i have so yep, Im getting this as well as a controversy free version of Aliens Omnibus #1 lol
I did the quick (rough) math and this omnibus contains about 43 singles worth of comics, and there's only ~49 left (leaving out crossovers) so all but certain this will be a two-volume run.
I already have Dark Horse's Predator Omnibus Vol 1. So i don't think i'll get this.

They may share the same name, but there's A LOT more in this one.
I know. But i am not sure its worth it spend that extra money.
At least the cover actually look good and not stolen this time might actually get it :).

If it don't have the other volumes with these comics in, perhaps. But this to introduce Alien and Predator a whole new Marvel audience who might not have known about them on original release or the various re-releases.
I still don't understand the point of another Omanibus collection when we just had one not too long ago. Unless its a collection of stories that didn't make it in the first run, why use Dark Horse stories if you aren't going to follow where they left off?
I like Chris Warners artwork.

Doing something like this is to get people aware of the character and with something as mainstream as Marvel, this will be a lot of people's introduction to the Predator. This also has the benefit of Marvel readers being a bit more willing to invest in the character long-term if they have a primer with the older stories to kind of know what to expect. So yeah it's another new trade but it's another new trade with a bunch of new eyes on it that otherwise either didn't know about Darkhorse or just wasn't willing to give the company a chance.

Yeah, ok. That actually makes sense, I can get behind this. Its just going to sting a bit knowing that there might be a possibility of these stories no longer being touched upon in future stories.
I didn't know about the Greg Land bull shit until this post. Wow - how does that guy still have a job? Or not been blackballed in the industry?
Because marvel ain't as good it once was marvel let this happen and most of the new star wars ship you see in the comic stolen fan ships if you don't believe me just look it up

While only a rumor I heard he was protected by Joe Quesada. Unfortunately Land just got deadlines and so he was protected by the company (presumably). You can be easy to work with, meet deadlines, and provide good quality work. You can only have two and Land decided to skip quality for being a tracer of others work and porn. He's mocked for good reason.
Salavador Larroca is one of these as well who traced to meet deadlines.
Hey apparently a dude name matt draper is writing the new predator comics for marvel found this out over on twitter
Do you have a link? Not seeing any comic writers called Matt Draper.
I have a phone so I don't i can make a link so just type matt draper twitter he should show up i dont think he ever written a comic so this should be his first he affliteded with marvel somehow but haven't been able to dig around and find out but he knows he could just be shitposting guess we find out soon.
Alright hicks here is twitter account MattDraperYT...now find out if he's for real or is he just shitposting
I think he's just bullshitting. He's just a YouTuber from the looks of it.
Dann thought I was on to something :'( but it just seemed a random thing to say dosnt
The cover for the predator omnibus was revealed yesterday but that's all I saw on twitter
So hicks does the alien and predator ombinues have a certain release day I heard the alien ombinues was either going to release march or may that's about it though
We don't know a specific date yet. :( Just April and August so far.
Is April for aliens and August for predator and do we have a confirmed price for them when I ask them prices they said they can be up to 80 to 100
On Amazon they're listed at $125.
They're pricey ones because they're a lot bigger. I worked the math out on the Alien one and it's fair pricing.
As long as the page dimensions stay bigger, i.e. not like the shrunken pages of DH's omnibuses, I'm in.
As long as they use the same paper type they use for the recently reprinted earth wars trilogy and don't change hicks into Wilks i am fine
We don't know for sure, but I expect it'll be the originals.
Have anybody else heard of this upcoming book about unmade moives some details about alien 5 suppose to be in it
https://www.avpgalaxy.net/forum/index.php?topic=64473.0
So which cover version your getting me personally I am getting the classic version
I got to ask a question has the apesuit from alien 3 ever showed up in comic book or novels?
I don't believe we've had the May solicitations come out yet, so might just be a retailer guestimate.

Now the Omnibus is slated for a September 13, 2022 release.
Marvel's May solicits are out and have the omnibus relisted for that month:

Awww yea. I like the standard cover but gotta go with that direct market classic art for this. This is coming in May instead of September then?
I saw it too. Woot!
Amazon still says September 13th through. Maybe it will be available exclusively through your LCBS first.

Wait, doesn't the postscript ON SALE 9/14/22 mean that the immediate start date of sales will take place in September?
You're right. I didn't notice that down there when I first saw it, since I've always mostly just used solicits to look for singles. So I guess the Amazon date was indeed correct.
Ah damn.
Via AIPT comics (https://aiptcomics.com/2022/02/17/marvel-comics-solicitations-may-2022/):
"There are also new tasty morsels to devour, like the fact that Marvel is finally publishing Predator comics! The 1032 page PREDATOR: THE ORIGINAL YEARS OMNIBUS VOL. 1 HC was originally set for a 2021 release, but it's now coming officially May 2022! That must mean the Predator series will soon follow, but stay tuned to AIPT as we'll report on that once we get more information."
But yeah looking at the postscript now, looks like it is September.
Will correct the post.
Yep, that's what I saw as well. I place the blame squarely on someone that's not us!
This is being resolicited in the March issue of Previews. So unless its an early pre solicitation. March items generally ship in May.

Must be an early pre solicitation by Diamond. :)
At least we'll have volume 3 of Aliens to help keep us busy until this releases.
March Previews out today and the tentative release date is as RidgeTop said 9/14/22
This is going to be quite a fun Predator summer! (Hopefully)
With the Predator rights sorted out now I hope they can get the ball rolling on some Aliens vs Predator omnibuses as well.
PSA here. Things From Another World (https://www.tfaw.com/mar221139-predator-orig-yrs-omnibus-hc-vol-01-warner-dm-var.html) has a pre-order for the omnibus for 30% off.
According to all the retailers this one should now be available.
It's not out until December. Omar from Near Mint Condition has his review copy so at least it exists and will be out soon, for sure this time.
While this is apparently out, my order with Forbidden Planet shows that they're still awaiting stock.
I dont see this on Amazon
My local has got their shipment in. I just need to go pick mine up.
Good to see this one finally getting released.
Mine is still showing as a pre order but has the release date listed for today. Same thing happened with Aliens, hopefully it'll arrive next week.
If I time my work day right I'll swing by and pick up the Chris Warner cover edition this coming Thursday.
Mine shipped from Book Depository around Christmas. Should be here in a week or so.
Seems Forbidden Planet finally got their stock - my copy's finally inbound.
It annoys me they haven't announced a volume 2 for predator yet
