While fans may be clamoring for that previously unseen green-band trailer, it looks like we maybe getting a second red-band trailer later this week alongside Logan! As spotted by Trailer Track, two 2 minute and 30 seconds Alien: Covenant trailers have been sent out to American cinemas for release on the 3rd of March in front of Logan.

“It appears 20th Century Fox are about to unleash a full-length red band trailer for Ridley Scott's Alien: Covenant this week – Deluxe Digital Cinema have sent what indeed appears to be the new trailer to North American cinemas for screenings Logan starting  Thursday evening.”

The previous trailer was just shy of 2 minutes and 15 seconds. That’s 15 seconds longer that the Christmas trailer. It would also appear that two different versions of the trailer (green-band and red-band) have been sent out for distribution.

We have also seen unconfirmed rumblings that an Alien: Covenant trailer was supposed to have been aired during the Super Bowl but was pulled last minute due to music licensing issues.

Hope it doesn't spoil too much, but it probably will.

Fingers crossed it's an excellent trailer - cause Logan is gonna smash it at the box office. Maybe a $100mill+ opening weekend. Alien could gather some serious buzz with a good trailer.

It's going to be super hard not to watch that one, but I'll wait for the greenband trailer when I go see Logan on Friday.

So Wednesday sometime would be a good bet for the online release.

Theatres can play either with Logan but I guess they'll ask them to play the green band with the upcoming PG13 releases like Skull Island.

Sounds great. I'm not completely sure if I will watch them both though - maybe this is a signal I should start slowing down on my trailer consumption for this movie.

I may rely on advice from those who will have watched the trailer as to whether it gives too much away / is relatively safe to watch. I dunno, I'll have to see how I feel.

For those who are certain they are going to watch it - I keep my fingers crossed for you that its great/better than expected.

It seems Alien: Covenant won't get an IMAX release in my country.  >:(

but last 3 links to the forum i've been clicking from the articles on the homepage lead me to THE PREDATOR instead of COVENANT page.

Get ready for the negative comments to flood online about the new trailer. I won't pay them any mind as I'm already past the excited phase but trust and believe people are going to pick this trailer to pieces. The movie is gonna be great so it won't deter me any but I'm really worried people are gonna kill its potential before even seeing the movie with negative comments everywhere. Its as if everyone has their own idea for a perfect alien movie and nobody else's idea will ever satisfy their needs to enjoy the movie, so therefore really killing any possibility that they might enjoy it otherwise. I know everyone has their own opinions, but it seems to me some are hellbent on trashing the movie before it comes out regardless of what the trailer really shows. Am I wrong?

Anyone have the discipline to NOT watch it?  Me neither.

I'm sure there's going to be a lot of positive as well.

Most fans on this site are really looking forward to it and have enjoyed what they've seen and heard about it. The prologue was a big hit overall I believe.

Awesome, got my tickets booked for "Logan" on Friday so hopefully this'll be one of the (no doubt many) trailers before it starts :)

I'll watch these then that will be it, if Prometheus is anything to go by they'll show the whole movie by the time the last TV spot airs, lesson learned....

I want the Alien and Prometheus trailer theme, but a theme similar to the one from the first two Kong Skull Island trailers would be awesome.

Frankly I wouldn't pay it any mind.  While we are a vocal community, you must remember that we are a rather small community when compared to the general movie-going audience.  So even if there is nothing but negative feedback here and on the Weyland-Yutani Bulletin... it's still small potatoes in the grand scheme of things.  I'm pretty sure that for every zealous fanboi that goes into cardiac arrest at the mere mention of the shower scene in the last trailer, there are at least two average movie-goers that got a kick out of seeing what appeared to be the classic Alien doing what the classic Alien does best (stalking and killing people).

TL;DR:  Who cares whether other fans love or hate the trailer.  The movie's success depends on whether the general audience eats the trailer up and wants more... not the fans who will see it no matter how much they say they hate it.

What a great day, announcements for a new Alien Covenant trailer and shadow of mordor 2. Its great when you get unexpected surprises like that. I for one love the first trailer, I thought it showed what it needed to show to get us excited. Whatever they do for the second trailer im sure will be amazing, the look of this movie is spectacular. I'm keeping my hopes up for this trailer. They've seen how the community reacted to the first one, and the style of the Last Supper clip was good so hopefully they'll adapt the trailer towards what people have commented about.

A more Prometheus-style trailer would be nice, however since they've said about copyrighted music I'm guessing it's more of a similar style to the first Covenant trailer.

I'm sure we will get to hear the score for the film in these trailers???

Probably a bad idea releasing a week early in the UK... gives pirates a week to wreck havoc on US opening weekend numbers.  I was expecting a staggered release of a day or two tops, but a week is just askimg for trouble.

Yea I think they did.  I was seeing the film pop up on torrent trackers a few days before it's US release.  Between the divisive nature of the movie and the availability of pirated camcorder copies, it is surprising Prometheus did as well as it did. 

Mixed reviews from audiences spurn piracy viewings (my opinion, not actual fact as far as I know).  Other people read the mixed reviews and decide to watch it via torrent first to see if it is worth spending money on to see... and that impacts opening weekend tallys.

I only hope that the trailer doesn't come out during a screening I'm going to tomorrow.

Then again, I can just watch it after, so it doesn't really matter.

Its starting to piss me off that movies arent released same day worldwide. Its so irritating to get movies a week after. Avoiding spoilers is a pain in the ass

iMDB says the film is out in France even on May, 10th, looks like the earliest bird among others  ;)

Also, I would think that the trailer would hit the web tomorrow if following the steps of the first Red Band. After all, tomorrow is "Ash Wednesday" and a huge day for Catholics.

I'd like to avoid the trailer if I can, but will have no choice if its with Logan. At least gonna hold off until then.

Despite being slightly underwhelmed by the first trailer I'm still stoked we're getting the first proper Alien film since 97. I'm intrigued as hell to see how Ridley handles the creatures after all this time.

Excited for the trailer when it lands. Wonder if we will get a bit more plot rather than mood?
