Title: Alien: The Adora Files
Post by: Darkness on Nov 13, 2014, 03:13:32 PM
A new Alien fan film is in the works from a chap called Felix Berner. It takes place on the USS ADORA when a xenomorph is loose on the ship. It's going to be a mix of live-action and CGI.

Some concept stuff:

I like the look of this. :)

The Advanced Mining logo especially. Also the "Working Joe" robot.

Hopefully the plot and acting will be good.

He said it takes place between Alien, Alien Isolation and Aliens and yeah, there'll be a Working Joe in the fan film.

They're shooting it very soon.

I'm looking forward to seeing more of this. Looks interesting so far.

Yeah, I said I was surprised at that too. He told me he was a professional. It's going to be a short film of 3-5 minutes.

I was curious so I googled the name Adora to see if there was a connection to any Joseph Conrad novels.

Its latin for Glory. Great choice. :)

As awesome as it looks I imagine it'll take a little longer than Feb. Don't think he's started filming yet.

Hello there,

my name is Felix Berner -and- I AM the man behind THE ADORA FILES! First of all: SHOOTING IS FINISHED ;)!

I am a German director and designer.

We are creating right now this amazing and expensive high quality ALIEN homage, which takes place in the Alien universe between Alien, Alien Isolation and Aliens, but with a complete new setting and a new "evil and corrupt" company called TYRAN INDUSTRIES. The film is a tribute to all the ALIEN movies and will be published as traditional homage.

Shooting is finished and we are going to release the movie in February 2015! Here you can see how serious and professional we are working:

http://www.the-adora-files.com (http://www.the-adora-files.com)

- check the costumes, the patches and all we stuff!

I am a huge ALIEN fan and creating something I want to see as fan! No copy & paste shit - this is why we call it HOMAGE, cause it is a tribute!

It would be a pleasure to know that you are following us. Each one of you. Cause by following us, you'll see the progress and the making of stuff and unique features we'll publish on our official site. If you have questions, we are ready to answer.

Regards,

Felix

Cause the film is really short with its 4 Minutes...it would be sad to show to much pictures by releasing a trailer :)! But maybeeeeeeeeeeeee a little teaser one day before releasing the movie :D

Tell me about it! I've got a pulse rifle but that's about it. Oh, and a face-hugger mask for halloween but I've never got into the costuming. I'd never have anywhere to put it all!

How's the project coming along, Burner?

Since the release of fantastic Aliens Epilogue starring Trevor Steedman and Terry English in 2012, things have been a little quiet on the fanfilm side of things. That is until the latter half of 2014 when Alien: The Adora Files and Predator: Dark Age were announced.

I recently had a chance to have a chat with the man behind the upcoming Alien fanfilm, Alien: The Adora Files. Created by the one man movie-making machine, Felix Christian Berner, Alien: The Adora Files is set between Alien: Isolation and Aliens:

“Alien: The Adora Files takes place between Alien: Isolation and Aliens and features some characters from game and some from the movies – for example also the father of someone you already know. I am really proud of our Working Joes because in the universe my movie takes place in we have a company that is called Tyran Industries which is rival/competitor of Weyland-Yutani.

Tyran is the leading company of an alliance called The Union which also includes Seegson as a partner, so Seegson and Tyran are working close together to defeat Weyland-Yutani. The ship on which all hell is breaking lose is called the U.S.S. Adora — a Union space ship that belongs to Tyran Industries — where the crew is fighting/losing against some aliens — but where the aliens are from is a secret right now.

My movie is kind of a sequel to Alien: Isolation but with strong military aspects like in Cameron's Aliens. I don't want to say too much right now but be sure that I am creating a fan-film for the fans and because of an appeal I did on some great Alien fan boards, we are also featuring some fans as Colonial Marines in the background – like Spat from Spatcave, the creator of the amazing Spat Armor!”

Be sure to check out our entire interview with the enthusiastic German film maker and learn more about how the project was created! Make sure you also head on over to their Facebook and check out some of the cool stuff Felix has been doing. The Alien fanfilm is due out later this month. We should hopefully be having a chat with the guys behind Predator: Dark Ages soon as well.

Well, I'm looking forward to this one a lot more than Dark Ages. I wish the guy would have posted a teaser or something to get people pumped.

Actually, how long is the fan film?

Surprising. I would have thought you'd be more interested in the Predator one.

Don't think he's posting a teaser because it's not going to be that long. Not sure of the exact running time but I've dropped him a message.

Apparently the film will be out tomorrow!

Felix is uploading now. He was having issues with it yesterday. Hopefully today goes well.

I enjoyed that. The digital backgrounds were fantastic, some great CG there. All the props and the costumes looked great! As did the Alien suit. I quite enjoyed the Captain's acting too.

It does feel like the story had more to it than than could be done properly in the 15 minutes which let it down. But as far as a tribute it was very lovingly done and you can see that.

Impressive space-based CGI, but the rest of it seemed very 'Mortal Kombat'-like. The disconnected fashion of the scenes and constantly running credits made it unfortunately feel more like an extended trailer than a self-contained story.

Same here. Liked some CGI scenes, but the rest is kinda underwhelming. Of course it's "just" a fan project, so kudos  8)

Have you been holding out on me, Aaron? Why are you and your pal in the credits? What did you do?

I thought it was going to be in realtime and not a report with flashbacks. There was way too many different things happening on the Adora when we finally got to that stage and none of them were really explained. The credit scenes seemed a bit bizarre to me as well. I think there should have been flashes with what's happening on Adora to the guys in the forest but the credits should not have been there. I loved the Predator cameo appearance and the space CGI is pretty good. The digital magic in it is kinda slick looking.

If I remember rightly the original project was a 3 minute kind of thing. I do agree though. Whilst I loved the look and feel of it, the story didn't really feel right. There were about 4 sets of stories in there without time to really do anything with them. Obviously we can infer it all but its not the same. I thought the switch between found footage and "traditional" was a little jarring too.

I think with the next one, Felix should pick a single story and try and develop that within the runtime and settle on a single style. Personally I'd love a found footage film. Just some creative criticism.

It says what we did in the credits. Some voices. I did the interrogation during the opening. Chris did the Adora Captain and the A.I.

If you want an honest review, I thought it was fun to watch but you can really tell the production was rushed at some point. I'm assuming they wanted to meet deadlines.

I was waiting for the credits to finish and the story to begin, and resolve all these random elements into something.

And then it ended.
