Tulnukas vs. Kiskja

Estonian?

I just realized I didn't post the actual translations from my language (I'm just putting in the most interesting ones).

Alien: Svešais ("stranger", as in stranger to life on Earth)
Aliens: Svešie (same but plural)
Alien: Covenant: Svešais: Covenant (we didn't even want to f**king translate it)
Predator: Plēsoņa (direct translation)
The Predator: Plēsoņa: Atjaunots (our language doesn't have the article "the" so it translates into "Predator: Restored" instead)
AvP: Svešais pret Plēsoņu ("Stranger against Predator")
AvPR: Svešais pret Plēsoņu 2 (we're starting to show a pattern here lmao)

Local Trouble

I would probably struggle to correctly pronounce any of those words.

In Ukranian and Russian The Predator translates the same as just Predator (or Predator 2018). We stil don't understand for what's sake there're articles  ;D

Try reading up on them online, it's fascinating how languages develop and convey information. And yup, I know that they did the same in the russian translation. :D

If only I could tutor you! You'd be surprised. ;D

Well, we took a vote and predator sounds more badass.
Sounds more like a trophy hunter to me.  ::)

I'm primarily an english speaker so this is incredibly literal and may miss context/alternate uses but:

Alien - tangata ke
Predator - kairangi

I can confirm that the translation of alien here is the same as "foreigner" and has no specific connotation of space creatures.

Because why not ?

Word - russian/ukranian - transcription

Egg -  яйцо/яйце - yaytsо/yaytsе

Facehugger - лицехват/лицехап - litsekhvat/litsekhap

Chestburster - грудолом/грудолом - hrudolom

Mother - мать/мати - matʹ/maty

Father - отец/батько - otets/batʹko

Mine has been answered already (I'm of Polish descent although live in States for a bit over half of my life) but I just wanted to say this is a very interesting idea for a thread

I confirm what has been said earlier, in french Alien means both stranger and extraterrestrial.

Predator means... Predator lol.

Alien in Arabic is الغريب and it's pronounced "ghurayb"
Predator in Arabic is المفترس and it's pronounced "almuftaras"
