At the bottom of that hologram it looks like the big giant rooms, but in the centre there seems to be a tunnel going up to the top of that mountain, and those horizontal lines in the mountain/temple what could they be?
And at the top of that tunnel there's a red dot, possibly the location of a scanning sphere, or a lifeform moving?the same on one of those horizontal lines.

Nope the from the trailers it seems the derelict is underground, and not even under the temple. it's a little bit to the side. check the trailers when the ground is opening up.
But cool observation about the spiraling tunnel. These temples are really weird. When you look at them from the outside they look like they were made, and then in time got eroded because of the elements. they have the same look like the egiptian piramids and sphinx. But if you look at this scan, above the round rooms, everything seems to be carved inside of a mountain. doesn't look like a build structure. And i like this a lot cause, the stranger these things are, the more alien they look and give a unique look to the race that build them

I only suggested that the derelict might be up top was due to the vertical shaft...and the only thing we've seen rise from the vertical shaft is the penis-o-scope, and penis-o-scope implies derelict (even though the 'doors' that open to release the ship are OBVIOUSLY on a flat plain)...maybe the shaft is for the unseen vagina-mometer?

Anyone else realize there are timers on the red planet holograms. I think when the selected hologram hits 0:0:00 it will show new content?!?!
Theres times on all saying 7 days i think. But there are 2 with large numbers not related to time.
But the temple picture with the spiral. I don't think its actually part of the building. It could be an effect of the holographic table turning on or changing what hologram is being displayed.

I assume androids don't need to breathe, but I could be wrong. Some of the pics show them all without helmets. I guess I will have to wait for the movie!

I will say...my only 'not again' moment in terms of the plot of Prometheus is the 'earth is in trouble, we must save it.'. That's a bit tired in my opinion....and it's been done to death so much, I'm not sure how fresh they can make it.

@zuzuki - I believe the vertical tunnel in the derelict is an elevator shaft. There is a shot in the trailer of David with his back facing us and a red mapping orb hovering in front of him. in other forum theres a plausible theory regarding this pic

that somehow David attracts/finds the earth (blue globe), and with this the engineer/software directs the derelict with those coordinates.
one can have a sense that this star/data map is the worlds they have engineered/help evolve. if they do this to some civilizations in earth, this invitation map can be in another planets also, so they just waiting for sufficient evolve races to reach them. the purpose i dunno but the ampules can be an easy answer.

@DendaReloaded - I looked at it again and I think you're right. You can see the bottom edge of the door and clouds of dust that come billowing out. They must turn off the red orb, because it isn't there in the very next scene, the one you spoke of.

Thanks, I'm actually pretty pleased with how the avatar and sig combo turned out. I added a flare in both of the images and tweaked the colours and brightness levels to give this impression that Ripley could be gazing at the Derelict in the sig. If people don't get that from it, well then I can only hope it looks cool. :D

Yeah...Ridley did mention how he likes to re-use sets in films...one of the video interviews I think he mentioned scenes from Gladiator and using the same pillars/room from two different angles as two different locations in the film.
Since these two angles are very similar...either it is the same place (in the film) or he's trying to convey a common design element in both places.
the beck side of that set is very different (small, because the behind wall shown, when Vickers enters...) when compared to the one used for showing the indoor environment of Prometheus.... Well, may be they have the same design/architecture elements, but it`s too damn obvious :D

Man, so much of their web shit is broken it's almost comical. A movie about the future supported by web sites full of bugs. It reminds of a time I went to a science fiction talk about the rapid rate of technological advancement and future possibilities etc. and Arthur C. Clarke was speaking over a video link so bad you couldn't make out anything he was saying or even see his face properly.
The web stuff looks nice, but they really need to do some testing and proof-reading before launching this stuff.

Shaw has invested so much and traveled so far, and then the ceiling of this temple that she discovers morphs to reveal an image of a renaissance-like biblical scene. Unfortunately, instead of a muscled man or a chubby baby at the end of the pious humanoid's arm, she see a god-damned Giger monstrosity. Perhaps it is here that she realizes that something is severely wrong?
we don't know her motivation in this particular scene yet. but she is clearly overwhelmed.

We don't know if they get killed. They could easily be asked by the captain to evac once the course is plotted. :)

i don't know, why fox release this pic anyway. are you feeling comfortable to know exactly who dies in this particular scene, even before seeing the movie? that's spoilery terrain isn't it?
i just hope, that they playing with us like dumbasses and the trailer did just not give everything away.
