Wow...impressive!

Thanks for posting this!

Lots I'm interested in  ;D

I'm most excited about the release of the ALIEN High Top Stompers. I've only ever seen those once for sale on e-bay.

I did a quick local check of cinema's for showings of ALIEN / ALIENS. Nothing listed so far.

While the book didn't do much for me, Rutger Hauer is an excellent choice for reading that narration. For some reason, his voice seems just right for it.

I love everything about this Alien Day except I just read the rules for the Trivia Challenge (something I was really looking forward to) & if you're from Canada like myself, you no get to play. It's for US residents only. Once again Canada gets the shaft on cool stuff. But I would like a pair of those shoes!

Aliens Day dammit!  Aliens Day!  It's a celebration of Aliens not Alien.  ...as my head explodes..  It might as well be April Fool's Day..

(Don't nobody get the wrong idea.  This is awesome!  But we need more stuff.  Hopefully we get an update on Blomkamp's film)

It would figure the only showings are 200 miles , give or take, in either direction from me.:'(

Other than that I'm hyped! I hope Hot Toys re-does the colonial marines. They've really improved since that first and thus far, only run of Ripley and Marines in '07.

It's Alien Day, because it's the Alien franchise.

Alien set foot on LV-426 too, you know.

OT, bit shitty so much is US-exclusive, but hey ho. Still lots of stuff to look forward to.

I think that might just might be how he's handling his NDA. He said that he would love to work with DH again, but we know that he is working with them on at least that one Prometheus variant, so he could just be exercising caution.

Too bad Fox chose Alamo Drafthouse. The one time I was there, the service was terrible. I decided with this announcement to give it another go. I got on their website just to have it go down, then when it came back, the only available seats were front row at THIRTY DOLLARS PER SEAT. I have since decided, that no matter the situation, I will never give them my money again.

I imagine it'll just be a reprint of the one from the original figure. That's what was in the Kenner AvP 2 pack they did.

You forgot Fahrenheit to Celsius

Seriously, I would love to have the US move to the metric system, I imagine many (current) US high schoolers would not even know what it is! Also, I never thought about the 16th, good idea! I was using the 31st since it is the largest number in the month.

I graduated in 2008 from high school and trust me, we learned all about the metric system, conversions and such, as well as temperature (Fahrenheit, Celsius and Kelvin). I have English and Metric sets of sockets. No it's not frustrating. Just different tools for different jobs. Anyways, back on topic.

We're not going to get any more ALIEN-related holidays because ALIEN day covers all the films, even the ones you don't like :)

I'd like to know more about the limited edition Loot Crate that was mentioned as the site didn't have any info on it.

In fairness, the UK usually seems to do OK, this being where most of the films came from.

Other countries never get shit though.

Looks like Super 7 have announced (http://super7hq.com/news/alien-day-2016-preview) their lineup for release on April 26, 2016.

There's a black box edition reissue of the ReAction 3 Nostromo compression suit crew set with Japanese text all over it.  This looks nice and goes straight onto my want list:

(https://www.avpgalaxy.net/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fsuper7hq.com%2Fuploads%2F07%2F04%2Fnostromo_3pack_black_web.jpg&hash=7905ab7f44935177451f2a0c53c5a6e172a015a4)

Plus we get to see the recently revealed carry case and its artwork that can hold up to 24 3.75" action figures ('ALIEN' or otherwise...).  There's going to be a new mystery figure packed inside as well.  I know what I am hoping for!  I totally want a 3.75"  Glow in the Dark Alien!  That would be my choice if I had my say about the Mystery Figure.  Either way, this also goes onto that list.  You know, the one that never gets any shorter...

Love that artwork!  Can we plz have a higher resolution image of this plz Mr. S7?

There's other stuff coming as well but these are the ones I was impressed with.

Does anyone know anything about the aliens VS game that is coming out or possibly played the original game years ago?

I can't wait to see what it is!

I'm pretty sure the comic will be a reprinting of the Kenner figure one-shot "ALIENS: Lt. Ripley- Fireball" comic.

Now if it's something new... but still revolves the Kenner Ripley... Well... that might be interesting.

It's going to be an expansion for Upper Decks's V/S System.

I imagine it will be. The one with the re-issued Kenner AvP pack was apparently just a reprint of the one from the original figures.

I can't believe Neca's making a Newt and Vasquez figure. After I spend an annoying time trying to make my own. Oh well, can't wait, the one figures I always wanted them to make was Newt and Vasquez, and now they will and I can complete my Neca collection.

I got Ripley, Hicks, Hudson, Bisected Bishop, 4 Aliens, eggs, and a Queen. So excited to add those to my collection and complete it. I mean, I never thought they'd make a Newt figure, Vasquez I can see, but I never thought they'd do Newt. THANK YOU!

They weren't really that good and it was annoying to put together. Packages got lost in the mail, and my bro-in-law did most of the paint and carving, but it was annoying because he took forever to help me like he would only work on it once a week and things kept coming up, like the clay dried before we could use it.

http://weylandyutanicorp.deviantart.com/art/Aliens-Newt-Carrie-Henn-Action-Figure-580481864 (http://weylandyutanicorp.deviantart.com/art/Aliens-Newt-Carrie-Henn-Action-Figure-580481864)

http://weylandyutanicorp.deviantart.com/art/Aliens-Vasquez-Jenette-Goldstein-Action-Figure-580482397 (http://weylandyutanicorp.deviantart.com/art/Aliens-Vasquez-Jenette-Goldstein-Action-Figure-580482397)

I would much rather official ones, it just bothers me that Neca told me on twitter they weren't gonna do them because of licensing and as they told me "we don't think Newt would sell as a toy."

All they need to do is make a Edward Furlong John Connor figure and I will have the perfect collection of Aliens, Predator, AVP, and Terminator.

It's like a mini vinyl Sofubi thingy.  Apparently, they're very popular.  Why?  I don't know.  There's over a dozen different varieties (http://super7hq.com/collection/alien/vinyl-figures) of the Alien.

(https://www.avpgalaxy.net/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fsuper7hq.com%2Fuploads%2F03%2F15%2FAlien_RedDeath-500x500.jpg%3Ftoken%3D59e2767a2fed7e83e15934098cb838e3&hash=43f4a2eddaf388a2ab7cb8a0b6d5865f10723154)

At 4" tall, $50 is a lot to pay for this thing. They should come in mixed bags of 24 plastic items for just $2.50.  Just like toys of this nature used to.

No price as yet.  I love the ReAction Aliens.  They have such an awesome history!  I'm looking forward to ordering one of those cases when they become available.

My collection of loose 3 3/4" inch 'ALIEN' ReAction figures needs a good home they can rock out in!  That case is perfect.  Especially considering it's such a worthy homage to the old 1977 carry cases for Kenner's original 3 3/4" 'Star War's action figures.  It's another great connection to action figure history of a bygone era, right down to the hinged vinyl style and montage art depicted on the cover:

Happy Alien 426 Day! I will be heading to my local TRU soon to pick up the Ripley figure (hopefully two)! I also will watch the first two films today and FINALLY post a pic of my overall Aliens collection (if I can remember :P )!

I hope that includes me!  :P

Anyone else think some of these trivia questions are reeeeaaalllyy stupid? Like, most of it is stuff that's barely related to the films at all, it's ridiculous! Especially the one about a bridge too far, cmon, wtf.

Considering how brainlessly easy most trivia quizzes are, I wouldn't complain about finding one that's a bit harder.

Also, the Alien KING? What??? Since when was there ever a king in the hive? NEVER. There was no gap in the story line to be filled. It looks kinda cool, much like the queen in many respects. Not a fan of the colouring, the whole thing kinda has a few too many of these folds & lines covering its body, not enough smooth texture.

The Alien vs Pinball is finally out on PS3, just bought it & going to record a raw first impressions video for you guys. It won't be the best quality. I don't have a capture device for game footage so all I can do is stick my video camera in front of my tv.

Nothing in my area is happening. As far as I know, I'm the only person celebrating Alien day in my neck of the woods haha so it's just going to be some Alien vs Pinball & movie watching later. Maybe play a round of 2 of the Legendary Encounters game. I WISH they were playing the movies in the theater in my area but nope.

Going to the comic store after school to hopefully pick up the 30th anniversary Aliens graphic novel, followed by Toys R Us for the throwback Ripley figure.

I watched Prometheus last night, and I plan on watching Alien tonight, with the following films each night this week. It's a little Alien week for me.  :)

Sucks that the movies aren't playing near me, or anywhere in PA for that matter. Oh well.

So, the first Alien day has now come to an end. And what a ride it hasn't been! :P Fingers crossed for you guys with the giveaways! Hopefully at least one of us will have something to show everyone in the merch section from alien day :) I'm really hoping I got the raptus alien statue, holy shit does that look cool. I just got in from a double feature too. Interestingly the version of Aliens they showed as the blu-ray version. I love that no matter how many times I watch these films I'm always noticing something new. This time around it was someone doing a crossword at Ripley's inquest.  I'd never noticed that before.

I wanted to watch ALIENS over dinner tonight (The perfect film for that sort of occasion I know).  I put in the Blu-Ray into the player and it said it can't play this type of disc.  WTF!  It always worked fine and there is not a scratch on it as it always rested in its case.  Now I am sad.   :'(   How many times do I have to keep buying this disc?

Watched Alien3 (assembly cut), did all the Twitter trivia, got Rage War book 2 in the mail, bought the loot crate, and picked up AvP2010 and Aliens Colonial Marines with all DLC on Steam (and bought a friend a copy of A:CM because why the hell not)

All in all a pretty good day, haha.

Ended up going round my gf's last night so sadly I didn't get to re-watch any films, but I did pick up a few goodies during the day. I won't be short of Alien-themed T-shirts for a while. Nabbed me a Loot Crate, too. Sadly both Hicks and I missed out on some Ripley sneakers :(

I've seen a few opinions that LV-426 Day was some kind of corporate scam but it just comes off as peanut butter and jealous to me. "It's not even on the release date!" Neither are BTTF or Star Wars Days so who cares. Did the movies and cast get more attention than the day before? Yes. Were screenings packed, mine sure was and I'm guessing many were as Alamo Drafthouse is for movie fans. This is hipster BS at its worst, not like anybody put a gun to your head and forced you to buy anything. There's 60 some comments here of people sharing their experiences on a communal day celebrating our favorite flicks. Here's to more movie days and #HicksLives!

I'm with you on that. It's a convenient day to rally fans (and non-fans, as my friends will attest) to watch the movies and have a good time. Like yeah people could complain about the commercialization stuff, but no one is forcing anyone to buy stuff. The Twitter trivia thing was fun, telling my coworkers to go home and watch an Alien movie was fun, I got a new book in the mail, it's all really harmless fun.

April 26, 2016 has been and gone.  I enjoyed it immensely...

Now looking forward to 4/26, 2017.  Coz you know... YOU KNOW it's gonna be absolutely loaded with 'ALIEN: Covenant' content.  That's a certainty.  Of course we'll be seeing stuff well before then but the movie will be released just 4 months later.  You can bet Fox will already have that day pegged for big announcements in terms of tie in merch for the movie. It's poised at the perfect point for such announcements.

I don't care what the naysayers claim.  Corporate opportunism or not, I say, Bring It!  I can't wait for 4/26/17.

I am listening to it right now as I am working on a project.  I can say that this is one of the single best Alien experiences that I've had since watching Aliens.  I know the story should have never taken place, but that is the premise.  The overall execution of this is beyond phenomenal.  I have visions of the entire catalogue of Aliens books and comics being turned into this.  Just epic.  And worth a price.

Ha ha!  Just as I posted the above, I thought of Alien: Isolation and I started weighing out my opinion.  The two are very different.  They are both high up there, and as I stated, it is one of the top experiences.  So I will say, that it ranks up there, and I elect not to pick a favorite at this time.

BTW, you can get Audible for free right now on a 30 day trial, and you get a free audio book.  Duh!  I picked Alien out of the shadows of course.  After the 30 days, you start to pay.  Totally worth it, and I hope they do many more like this.  It elevates audio books to a whole new level.

Thanks again!

Understandable you won't pick an absolute favorite between the two! But I'm excited to hear it's that good!

That's good to know about audible too. But I kinda think the iOS version might be a better choice for me. I'd have it all the time on multiple devices! :-) betcha they do this whole trilogy eventually... At least!

Did you (or anyone) check out the pinball game? I actually really like it! And I'm not a fan of pinball games, especially digital pinball. I nabbed the pinball game for free on iOS, but in the free version you only get access to 1 table at a time and they rotate to the next table every 5 days or so. I've only tried out the aliens table so far. I was planning to wait for the next table to rotate around (avp) to see if I like it enough to buy the bundle (unlimited access to all 3 tables, ad free) or just the individual tables I like best. I may also grab it for Xbox one; still deciding on that...

Aliens vs Pinball has been quite the blast to play. I grabbed all 3 tables for PS3. So far I got the trophies for both the Aliens & AVP table but not the Isolation one yet. Highest score so far I think has been on the AVP table for about 50million. Aliens is fun when you get to drive the APC for a short mini game after starting the first mission (when you play Film Order). Isolation has been my least favorite of the 3. I dunno what it is about that one but I can't seem to get anywhere with it unlike the other 2.

You know the one thing about the pinball game that really perplexed me?

I first checked it out on Xbox one, by looking up some info on it. I was pretty stoked to get some new alien themed achievements, and I wanted to set one as the background on my console. I was kinda surprised to see there were only 3 achievements on Xbox one! But that's cool; achievements aren't a deal breaker to me... BUT, when I picked it up on iOS, and looked at the achievements it has 12 TOTAL!!! Why the difference?!?

Most tables in the game like all te Star Wars & Marvel tables all have between 2 or 3 trophies to shoot for but lately their last 2 Star Wars & all 3 Alien tables for me only have 1 achievement each. Strange setup. I also have Zen Pinball 2 on WiiU & the Alien tables aren't even available on that so yea it's messed up going across all the mediums.

I think the console versions are all alike, in terms of cost and number of achievements/trophies. And the mobile versions are all alike. On the Xbox one, I saw the price tag was $10. On iOS, it's free, but you only get one table at a time and you have to deal with ads, however you can buy permanent access to the tables for $3 each, buy ad-free play for $2, or pay for the bundle to get ad-free and all 3 tables for $7. So if you plan on buying at least 2 tables on mobile platforms, it'd be cheaper to buy the bundle.

Btw, my alien day festivities included a chance to play "aliens: Armageddon" for the first time. It was alright... It was pretty out there, and they took a LOT of liberties with the aliens, but it was still fun for what it was...

Got me one of these 6 little Kotobukiya figures, really tiny but yhe sculpt is Konami-like : very well detailed for the scale and price. Unpainted though, made of dark mate soft plastic, but still worth the money. The pose of mine -like the others on this serie- is really goofy for a xenomorph to take, that's the essence of its charm.

Since they're really small (a little more than 2 inches) it is useless to display them on a huge room, they don't look good from afar, so you'll fully enjoy their mightiness at less than a meter from your face. I put this fellow laying lazily on top of my computer screen, so I can watch it while typing this message ^^.

Go for them !

Yeah I've been eyeing those things, the casual/yoga poses are pretty hilarious.

They could turn it into a romantic comedy.

In Space, Everyone Can Feel The Love
This Love is War
The Love is Back
and finally
Witness the Romance

I have way too much time on my hands

So I would arguably say the first official ALIEN DAY was a success. Although the limited edition items were a bit too limited and pricey, it does give fans a reason to watch the movies and possibly pick up an exclusive item if they so choose. It's been said that no one forced anyone to watch their computer obsessively and buy the overpriced crap they sold and that's completely true.

I hope they learn from their mistakes and make next year a better celebration!

The cinema screenings alone were a neat idea. The only thing that really pissed me off were the Reebok trainers, they were just a clusterf*ck. I managed to pick up a few other neat bits and pieces though.

The one thing that really ticked me off was that the Kenner Ripley (by Neca) was an online exclusive and NOT actually in the TRU stores. I think they should have sent a few pieces to each store with a very limited availability online.

I just got an email from FOX saying I won a download code for Aliens vs Pinball in the Twitter trivia contest! ;D
My winning question was #24, about whether or not Sigourney Weaver and Michael Biehn were originally supposed to have cameos in 'Titanic'.

Copy-pasting my comment on that review here, because I think it's lost over there and could be helpful for people on a budget:

"A note to fellow Canadians: the Super7 store wanted to charge me $50(!) USD shipping on this. I cancelled my order and went with Big Bad Toy Store, who only charged me $20, and it got to Toronto in about a week."

It's a beautiful case, and the glow-in-the-dark alien, which I didn't know was also gonna be translucent, is wonderful. I only wish you could reverse the art on the case, so that you could display it with the handle up and the steel 'feet' down.
