So you can't plug your Switch into the TV for this game?

I've been playing the game with the Switch docked into the TV.

Just got it and really enjoyed it!

I missed out on the PC/PS4/X1 versions since I mainly buy Nintendo consoles, so it was a pleasant surprise for me. Same as the Witcher 3 port earlier in the year.

I don't want to sound like a cynicyst, but I doubt people are overly excited to play a game which relies so much on it's immersion and atmosphere on a weaker, portable system with inferior visuals and a smaller screen.

Especially when you consider that the game is 5 years old at this point and can be found cheaper on Xbox or PS4, which are far more optimal ways to play a game of this type.

Obviously I'm not saying the game isn't worth playing in 2019, but I could only recommend this version for people who for some reason still don't have one of the big 2.

Nearly 6 months ago we learned that Feral Interactive was working on a brand new port of Alien: Isolation for the Nintendo Switch! And now, just two months after the 5th anniversary of one of the best games to grace the Alien franchise, gamers on the Nintendo Switch have the pleasure of being able to experience the events of Sevastopol!

As of today Alien: Isolation is available to purchase from the Nintendo Store (US/UK) for $34.99/£29.99! Weighing in at 17.7 GB, it’s a Digital Download only at the minute, but includes the full set of seven pieces of downloadable content in the price. This new port will also make use of the Switch's gyroscopic aiming and HD rumble, bringing some Switch specific features to the Isolation experience.

Yesterday Digital Foundry posted up an in-depth look at the graphical differences between Feral Interactive’s Nintendo Switch port and the original PlayStation 4 version of the game. It’s a technical focused look at how the Nintendo Switch port fares and compares against the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions. You can watch the video below or check out an abridged written version on EuroGamer.

For the last week Alien vs. Predator Galaxy has been live streaming our playthrough of Alien: Isolation of the Nintendo Switch in preparation for our review. You can check this out over on our YouTube channel! And we’ve been really enjoying the transition! So keep an eye out for our upcoming review!

As of publishing, Feral Interactive’s new port of Alien: Isolation is currently sitting at 80 on MetaCritic and reviews are starting to come in! Are you planning on adding Alien: Isolation to your Switch library?
