Violent Night...

Which I'll be seeing Saturday  ::)

Nightmare Asylum

For 2022 movies, the remaining films still on my radar are:

Avatar: The Way of Water
Babylon
The Whale
The Eternal Daughter
Bardo, False Chronicle of a Handful of Truths
Decision to Leave
(I know this one has technically already released, but it still hasn't released where I am yet)

Got to see Guillermo del Toro's Pinocchio and Glass Onion on the big screen, thankfully, so I while I'm looking forward to revisiting them this month on Netflix, they won't really be 'new' releases for me.

Caught the trailer for The Flash yesterday. My utter disdain for the Flash as a character and Ezra Miller as an actor (plus my general ambivalence towards superhero movies) defeated by Michael Keaton returning as Batman.

The moment the Danny Elfman theme swelled I knew I'd be going to see it.

Not everything I'm looking forward to by any means, but (in alphabetical order) these are the upcoming movies that have been occupying the most brainspace for me at the moment:

Alien: Romulus (Fede Álvarez)
Avatar 3 (James Cameron)
Barbie (Gretta Gerwig)
Dune: Part Two (Denis Villeneuve)
Frankenstein (Guillermo del Toro)
Furiosa (George Miller)
Gladiator 2 (Ridley Scott)
The Killer (David Fincher)
Killers of the Flower Moon (Martin Scorsese)
The Movie Critic (Quentin Tarantino)
Megalopolis (Francis Ford Coppola)
Mickey 17 (Bong Joon-ho)
Napoleon (Ridley Scott)
Nosferatu (Robert Eggers)

Plus whatever Jordan Peele's new film that was just announced for 2024 is.

Little Women rocks, Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling rock, and that teaser rocked. 8)

It's a show, but I'm very much looking forward to The Winter King later this year. I read Cornwell's Warlord Chronicles years ago, and the trilogy was pretty strong.

I'm personally looking forward to Dune Part II. Which is weird because, and I don't when this started, but I've been really avoiding sequels for the past few years or at the very least been reluctant to view sequels. Dune Part II is the only film  that I've been looking forward to all year as well.

I'm curious, if a bit concerned, about Hellboy: The Crooked Man.
