I always liked Star Trek. Not hardcore enough to call myself a "Trekkie", I haven't seen every single episode of all the different Trek TV series and I certainly don't walk around in a Federation uniform to work. But I always found the premise of Trek appealing. The show at its best is not about aliens with funny foreheads or Shatner's over-acting, but how the series reflect our contemporary world and its issues.

Sure, some of the episodes from TOS looking at it today is rather dated in concept and execution and clearly a product of its time. There is no getting around the fact that dreadful episodes like "Spock's Brain" and "Turnabout Intruder" are just plain bad, period. Even so, the series as whole with its uneven quality never fails to entertain me.  And its best episodes like "Balance of Terror", "Space Seed", "Amok Time" and "City on the Edge of Forever" or "The Trouble with Tribbles" is timelessly entertaining and wonderful to watch to this day.
