QuoteA "smattering of DLC" is coming to Aliens: Colonial Marines, although the podcast wasn't any more specific than that.

We should. Technically we should have had all this stuff from day 1. Rotten bastards.

alright so I went to the PSN store and on the ACM DLC screen when you have the disc in and its says I have to pay to get the new shit? I have the season pass. This shit should be practically free to anyone that still owns this game like me.

The only thing that's worth it is the double barreled shotgun.

The pre order bonuses for the various retailers are not included in the season pass.

I preordered my Collector's Edition so the only new stuff for me is the Sharp Rifle and the Double-barreled shotgun; those are $1 each. :)

Out of curiosity, what are you missing and how much is everything other than the 2 I was missing?

I'll buy the shot gun for bug hunt purposes

TBH, I'm kinda glad that these weapons aren't part of the season pass; I preordered the Collector's Edition and if I got these weapons as part of the pack, I would feel so ripped getting something I already paid for in another set.

Since I bought this for 360, I still need these weapons. The only ones I have are Ripley's Flamethrower, the SEBB's, and the Plasma Pulse Rifle. I would like these to be included in the Season Pass since I don't want to throw more money at the game (since that won't make GBX make the game much more better-er) but I might get them if it's only a buck a weapon.

Post by: Kronnang_Dunn on May 27, 2013, 04:39:21 AM
Bought many of them (they are cheap!) since I only had the Season Pass and no preorder exclusives (which I wanted but couldn't find when I got the game)...

The Sonic Electronic Ball Breakers are awesome to freeze bugs in one spot while your buddies gun them down....

Ripley's weapon is great at close ranges or for spraying fire while running, but you can't aim down the sight with it...

The Double Barreled Shotgun is excelent and even better than all the other shotguns at close quarters and can get you single shot kills in the MP game...

The Sharp Sticks work better at mid distances and against swarms of enemies or big bugs like the Crusher...

And the Phase Plasma Rifle looks ultra cool and works great at long distances.

The movie skins are nice and the Firing Range is a great addition to the game....

Hope this helps...  8)

Well, it lets you test each and every weapon and has several new game modes... which sadly I haven't completed and played much yet. And you can play alone or with friends in cooperative mode. The area of the Firing Range is a brand new section not seen in the SP game and is set inside the Sephora. Is large and has many robotic and automated targets, weaponry and ammunition.

Is standard practice for ANY modern game to release the pre-order exclusive content for everyone to buy months after the game has been released. And no, as far as I know season passes obviously do not include any of these... I still can't understand all the complaints....

LOL dude. Yeah, I have. Iron sight with an SMG or pulse rifle and watch the bullets go everywhere except for where the red dot is pointing. Usually because of the weird sway animations. Compared with something like Borderlands 2, there's a stark and unnatural difference in the guns control.

Like with everything else in this game besides bug hunt I'm feeling very underwhelmed by it.

I can't understand what you are talking about. If you move, you sway. If you stay still, you don't. ... and as far as I know for being able to aim down the sight of the gun you have to make full stop. You may be refering to shooting from the hip... that's when you shoot without looking down the sight. Some attachments (laser sights, barrel grips, red dot sights, etc.) are supposed to do shooting from the hip more accurate and they actually do.

As a COD and Battlefield player I also must point out that ACM has also the ability (like those games) to change accurate shoots between targets fast. All you have to do is tap the aim-down-the-sight button repeatedly while firing and you automatically get several targets in succesion.

Are you playing on console? Because that's auto-aim you're describing there. No, the aim-down-sight is pretty much useless in this game (on PC at least) because of the weird swaying animation that plays, even when standing still. And the guns don't act at all like COD or Battlefield - those games give good control and feedback to the player when shooting and most importantly goes where the red dot is pointing, A:CM does none of this.

Yes, I am playing in a PS3, and so far I have not encountered any "weird swaying animation". Your Pc version probably needs a patch or a hotfix. Mine is fine and playable...

Btw... "Goes where the red spot is poiting..."? Dude... the red spot is more useful for close targets. Far away targets are easier to shoot with scopes. And the game does act a lot like COD. Hell... is basically COD meets ALIENS... which is good for me... despite the protests.

 Thanks for the lesson, DUDE.

It's definitely COD meets Aliens in style, but not in gunplay. You've got rocks in your head if you think this game has as good gun control as COD or Battlefield. It's like a little girl is holding the stock, or something. The bullets go magically to the hit markers, not anywhere realistically in accordance to where the ironsights are facing.

*facepalm* No, I said they don't go where the crosshair is. The markers are never where the crosshair is. You don't aim in this game by using the crosshair like you do in most games, but you adapt to where the hit markers will register. The gunplay is completely artificial and badly designed.

Nice. The SHARP sticks rifle works well as a support role weapon and for suppressive fire. The sawed-off double barrel shotgun might take a little practice but once you get some solo kill streaks with it, you will learn why it has such low starting ammo. It is a situational weapon that works good as a support role and for suppressive fire. I do believe the SHARP sticks rifle is effective against the crusher xeno, although personally I prefer using the plasma pulse rifle for that.

My patience has paid off. I did in fact get the DLC weapons for a dollar a piece. They're def worth that much for something else to select and build a loadout around. The SHARP rifle is interesting, I just wish the detonation time was lower. Can be fired quite quickly though. The sawed-off shotgun is great at taking out one Alien then quick swapping to another shotgun. It will take out a Boiler in one shot (if close enough).
