Almost 35 minutes of alternate/cut scenes, and they're not going to do an extended edition? Still really cool that we're going to get the scenes, though. Only one I'm a bit iffy about is the extended Shaw vs Engineer fight; I completely understand why Ridley wanted to cut that, and wouldn't have minded at all if he refused to let that one on the release.

That IS a lot of deleted material. Considering the final battle clocked in at 25 seconds in the theatrical cut I'm wondering how much Shaw + Axe versus Harvey "Two Face" Dent Engineer we could possibly watch.

For a second I thought one of the deleted scenes said "Janek Fills Vickers" and I thought "Oh God there's a sex scene here" and then I reread it and saw the rest of the title.

I doubt we'll see anything homeworld related in that scene. Probably just an extended version of the ending.

Damn, that is a very long list of deleted scenes.  Judging by the names though, there won't be that much to do in the way of improving the character development.  I'm guessing that if you reinserted all of those scenes into the movie, you'd have something slightly more interesting but not interesting enough to change the film from bad to good.
