I know of 3 mappers that are still currently active. 1 new marine mission should be releasing soon by HHO.

I'll get it up on AvpUnknown eventually.

Nice to know some people are still making them but its just not the same.  :-\ I wish the new games would cater to community content.

Hmmm... that looks too much like the same operations i made with Havoc - enjoy the comparison: http://www.planetavp.com/mods/motw/hadleyshope/

Sorry, I didn't see this earlier.  There's no denying it. Hevoc DID provide me with the original Hadley's Hope raw map file for this Project.  He is credited as doing so in the readme:

"Base : An heavily modified version of Hevoc's 'Hadleys Hope' is featured in this map. "

and

"My Thanks Goes to These People: ... To Hevoc who created the original Hadleys Hope map that was the inspiration for this Project."

Hevoc's original Hadley's Hope map was extensively revised for this Project.  It was used as a base map but completely torn down and rebuilt with many, many locations changed to accommodate the gameplay, optimisations and additions well beyond the original map.

That being said, it's still much of Hevoc's work.  I never denied it.

Also, it's unfortunate that planetavp.com is no longer with us.  IGN took all the Planet sites down a few years back. Too bad, really.  I wrote a lot of reviews for custom maps for both 'AvP' and 'AvP2' appearing on that site.  Including the one you linked to.

Hope this clears things up a bit.

Hey there (:

Thanks for the credit! I did very true indeed release the bulk of me ED-files before leaving for new frontiers - with the explicit intention of having people using them one way or another. Glad that it was used.

One very dark frustration for most mappers 'back 'in 'em 'days where the lack of ed-files. On the other hand, those ED-files that were released by Monolith, they were used a lot by the mappers, and to my taste maybe had a too direct impact on the released content for a long time in terms of style as the result of various prefabs. Though, this made the work of some extraordinary mappers more unique and interesting. Psykore and Redriot would be great mentions here :D

I'm right now reinstalling AVP2 and will most likely have the pleasure to play Hostile Appetite this weekend - looking forward!

Yeah, this is how I feel. I'd just love to use a modern engine. The video game industry has become really shitty over the years. I miss when tools were just a given.

Does anyone have a download for this map?

Nope, honestly, those two levels are Master-Pieces, glad to know I'm not the only one that remembers them.

*campaigns, although maps would be a more suitable word since Hostile Appetite is just a single level (unless the second part - where you switch to a Marine - was an almost exact replica).

Don't hit me with this sad nostalgia.

There is no map change on 'Hostile Appetite' if you complete the Alien campaign and then play the Human component.  It's the same map; and your character/class has been swapped from Alien to Human.  The only changes made is some geometry has become visible and others hidden during the transition cut-scene. This was done for good reason...

If, while playing as an Alien, you CHOOSE to destroy any health and armor items you find, those items will also be gone and will not respawn when playing as the 'sole survivor'.  Depending on how much shit you have fun wrecking as an Alien may just come back to bite you on the bum when you hunt for those items as a Human.  Destroy everything, and the mod is very challenging in its Human component.

You also have the added knowledge of knowing *most* of the layout of the map when playing as the Human, which makes sense because you have presumably lived on the colony for a few weeks at the time of the Aliens' assault.  You should be familiar with where the canteen, medlab and operations by the time you play as a Human.

So, yes.  There is only one level from start to finish.  I really pushed the limits on the game engine for this one.  lol.

I finished the map 3 times and never got a "Sole Survivor" part
The closest i had to that was the Marine campaign starting automatically after finishing the map.
