Charon is under a red flag while Stephanie is outta town.  :-\

The ship is docked until the new year. Everyone needs a break, and the holidays are too stressful. So I made the decision to park Solara at GateWay station until the new year.

XenoHunter99

Enjoy the holidays! Thanks for all you've done to date. I've enjoyed your work and that of your cast.

Affirmative captain. Enjoy your shore leave. We look forward to the next instalment :-)

That's fair enough! Thanks for all the work you've done so far. Enjoy your break and I look forward to Solara returning!  ;D

The adventures will continue.

Just too many things factor into shutting down for a while. December will be an absolute nightmare for me.   ::)

Well...I'm certainly curious to see where you go with that! Is it a one-off?

TheSailingRabbit

Considering I don't have Soundcloud, I should listen to this on YouTube, given that people are enjoying this, and it's early in the morning, so I'm kinda bored and scrolling through the forums. The fan section is quiet most of the time, so it's nice to see something relatively active in these parts of the forum.

I'll likely leave my feedback here. Might be some time because I've got my own projects, but I love seeing other fans pushing themselves to get their stories out there. If you have some tips (mine's writing), that'd be welcomed.

actually it's pretty much improv. No script. It might go a few episodes.

One idiot on the planet Lothos runs a company supply depot. A job they wouldn't waste an Android on. One miserable day a ship locks on to the depots beacon when it's in distress. But it's cargo of survivors from some gold mining facility brought other passengers in them.

Will this lone idiot be the only hope for these plagued survivors, or will the company finally have it's prize?

Starring a moron who can't be bothered to write a script, cast or spend more than $30 on a microphone and using a text to speech British voice as his computerized companion comes Stasis Interrupted.

That same idiot who once had a throat infection that wrecked his voice.

I'm an awful writer. Don't ask me for advice. Just do the best you can. You're not getting paid.  :-\

I meant tips on putting it out there. I'm limited on tech (and skills) and the most I've done is pin a link on Twitter and posted the link in the Fanfiction section.

I've tried everything. Posted on the audio drama reddit. Spammed twitter hashtags. Used every keyword I could think of on youtube. And honestly it's amounted to almost nothing. There are people out there who put out literal garbage and suddenly have a thousand $'s a month in patreon pledges. I've been told to stop promoting so successful projects can get the attention. We never get mentioned by anyone despite my spamming. Honestly it's kinda way more trouble than it's ever going to be worth. But a friend of mine once told me if you can get enough people to listen that can fill a room, you've succeeded. He then went on to edit porn movies, as if that takes any effort at all so maybe his advice wasn't that great.

It's true that the lowest form of entertainment will always succeed. I just watched a video of a fat guy chug a whole bottle of soda and it had tens of thousands of views and comments of praise and delight at the ground breaking achievement of a fat man guzzling corn syrup and belching. The simple fact is you can try everything to promote yourself, but unless you're incredibly lucky you're going to end up with maybe a handful of people who care enough to stick around.

I can understand your frustration. It's literally the same in the writing world. Look at the stats of my stories compared to the stats of one of the ever-present "Alien-hybrid girl bangs a Predator" stories. It's incredible. I'm not the greatest writer out there, but I don't write the same crap as the rest of the website. But, you know, why read something original when you can read someone's Twilight rehash with Aliens and Predators?

Anyways, even if I've got one or two people really enjoying my work, that's good enough. I have the motivation to keep writing and keep telling the stories I'd like to tell.

Hell, the co-admin of this site likes your work. I'd be thrilled if that happened.

In short (sorry if I'm derailing the thread), I do get it. You've come pretty far and I hope a miracle comes along for you. Don't let it get you down.

I don't think you need a Soundcloud account to listen but YouTube is just as easy! :)

Okay, I'm interested. I had thought it'd be something pre-Alien 3 like the Stasis Interrupted DLC but I'm really intrigued by this. You're going to be starring in this yourself?

At the end of the day, that's what truly matters to keep going.  :)

Yeah, I'm gonna do it myself. Problem is my voice really was wrecked years ago from an infection. I've never sounded the same since. I hate how I sound. But I work quickly. Plus I found a really good text to speech voice to use. No, I don't care if it's obvious. More or less doing it just to do it until after the holidays are mercifully over with.

I thought about adding some kind of voice effect to make me sound better, but nothing really works. I still sound like I'm gargling dog crap. I can't yell, nor can I really even speak without it still hurting all these years later. Honestly, I'm practically mute in real life. It's the worst during the winter breathing in cold air.  ::)

Yes, this is AFTER Solara. The original cringe idea was aboard Sulaco. I'm not going into details.  :-\

You do not need one.

Keep writing. If you want, I can help you adapt it into an audio drama. Don't be shy.  :D
