Why are they showing his face?

He should never, under any circumstances take his helmet off. Like Dredd and Master Chief.

He was before the terrible, awful prequels came along and ruined him.

Although I know that Boba Fett is important enough to be more than a faceless, I didn't know there was a whole trope about it.

Definitely applies to Star Wars Stormtroopers and Krull's Slayers.

And while it doesn't bother me that Boba Fett has a face, since he's not just another soldier at all, I understand that it ruins the mystery and mystique that surrounded the character. And between us, I'm glad they didn't show Darth Nihilus's face on Kotor ll. I mean, I know he's something of a force abomination, and not a totally physical being...but that would have totally ruined the character for sure.

Who is drawing that Bounty Hunters series?

Also, Boba Fett as a faceless character was a thing in the old EU and it was intentional - there's a bit in the comic "Boba Fett: Twin Engines of Destruction" where Dengar asks him why he doesn't show his face and he points to his helmet and says "This *is* my face."

It's meant to differentiate him from his father - Jango knew how to take the helmet off and be a father and a normal person, Fett doesn't. The armor is his identity.
