It'd make more sense to not show any egg(s) at all because there's no way one could logically be there.
Sometimes you've just got to accept there was no thought into it and there's no explanation that makes any sense.
It makes me laugh how some people feel the need to fall all over themselves to try and explain the magic egg yet no one seems to care that the Sulaco has suddenly had a paint job in flight and is now brown instead of grey
