lol I really like the aliens: infestation story as well. ;D

My ideas were to make it so it was somewhat different then Infestation.

Your story is good though just needs more Morse and no Buster death.
It's a shame that no one talks about Infestation. It was a good game. The only problem I had was that it was too short.

You're right, Buster should replace Reid and Homewrecker should replace Bella (ugh... I cringe everytime I hear that name). Homewrecker and another marine could get captured early on and you follow their signal to the hive. The first marine you find is the one that has the chestburster pop out of him in Infestation. You go on to find Homewrecker and the UPP agent, but she has already been facehugged but doesn't remember it. No one realizes what's going on until it's too late. There should be more Morse, since he was the only surviving eye witness from the Alien Trilogy (to me A:R is an epilogue/side story). I'm sure W-Y would keep him around to get as much information as they could from him and/or to keep him quiet.

I agree infestation was a great game. For the longest time i did not understand why people liked morse, then i realized he is the only person to ever survive an encounter with the Xeno and im positive he was on the Patna at the end of A3 so he could have been in the game.

Burke.  Carter Burke.  He's with the company, but don't let that fool you...

We never had the 'cocooned Burke' scene inserted, so I am wondering if that is canon or not?

... Nah, he's a wimp... He's dead...

Quote from: PanCoreUnit on Mar 06, 2013, 07:41:06 PMOff the top of my head :

-replace random WY mercs with UPP troopers

-explain the magic egg from alien 3 as being brought aboard by a stowaway xenomorph

-later have said xeno change into a queen and make a hive out of UPP boarding crew

-explain that dead hicks form A3 was a clone

-have hadleys' hope destroyed like i should be

-have a UPP research station around/near the jockey ship(like Aliens:infestation)

-have characters you actually care for

-have sulaco/sephora team up against a UPP battle ship

-add WY as a lesser antagonist

-add morse for some reason

thats all i can think of at the moment.
How about just a revised version of Aliens: Infestation? It has characters you can actually care for. This is how the levels go (the five could be divided into more levels).

1. The Sephora crew investigates the Sulaco to find that the UPP have already boarded and that the stowaway alien (now queen) has already infested the ship. The marines wipe out the small hive and find an UPP survivor. From her you learn about the UPP base on LV-426, but the Sulaco attacked by an enemy ship. The boss fight would be against the Queen in her hive in the Sulaco's  industrial decks.

2. During a battle with the UPP, the Sulaco is damaged and crashes onto LV-426. The surviving marines need to call the Sephora for help, but the dropship would be shot down by anti-aircraft turrets. You discover that the UPP have been harvesting eggs from the Derelict and there are Aliens loose in the base. The marines break into the UPP base, take out the turrets, and escape in an APC. While fleeing the APC is attacked by Aliens. The APC crashes into the Derelict, but the Aliens keep coming. They chase you through the Derelict until the dropship comes to pick you up. There won't be a Jockey Alien, instead the boss fight would be an intense chase sequence. It starts with you shooting Aliens that are chasing the APC with the turret. After the crash, you have to get it out of the Derelict while being stalked by the Aliens.

3. Back on the Sephora, they are greeted by Sean Davis and the W-Y mercs who have brought the Aliens onboard, which have already started to build a new hive. You kill the loose Aliens, but you don't know that there is a Queen yet because Davis lied (imagine that ::) ) and said that they only brought Warriors and eggs. Unlike Aliens: Infestation, the fight in the powerloader against the Queen in the cargo bay won't happen until the end. I'm not sure what should be the boss fight or even if there needs to be one here.

4. After clearing the Sephora (or so you think), you head to the W-Y research lab on Phobos because that's where Davis tells you where they are keeping the Aliens. You go there, but the Aliens have already escaped and killed all of the researchers. You realize that Davis double-crossed you and is planning on using the Sephora to transport the Aliens to Earth. Instead of Gorilla Aliens, there will be Runners. Instead of the Rhino/Giant Gorilla Alien thing, maybe just a Praetorian for a boss fight. Never go full Kenner.

5. The marines get back on the ship just to be attacked by androids and W-Y mercs. You discover that there is now a large hive in the ship with a Queen. You find Davis, but he is killed by the Queen and you have to fight her with the powerloader. You are unable to kill her with it and the powerloader is destoried, so you have to play cat and mouse with her as you open the airlock. Even though the Queen has been sucked out of the ship, there is still a hive full of Aliens on the Sephora. You set the ship to crash onto Mars as the remaining marines escape on the dropship.

As for the characters...

Cpl. Winter would be replaced by Cpl. Cameron as the player's character. Both are the center characters on the box art and they're both corporals.

Captain Cruz would be replaced with Lt. Col. Steele since they are the commanding officers. Even though he's from a DS game, I think "Stainless" Steele is a better character than Cruz.

Pvt. O'neal would be replaced by Pvt. Paulson as your main NPC partner. "Bear" Paulson is also on the box and one of your starting marines. Once again, I like Bear better than O'neal.

Bishop should be replaced with Chief Warrant Officer "Rook" Marcus since they're both androids. However, Rook shouldn't be a marine.

Michael Weyland would be replaced by Sean Davis.

I'm not so sure who should replace Pvt. Bella Clarison and Lt. Reid. There are four female marines in Infestation: LCpl. "Homewrecker" Johnston, PFC "Buster" Fischer, PFC "Cutter" Kennedy, and PFC "Beta" Chau. My top picks are Homewrecker and Buster. Homewrecker is a starting character and Buster is on the box art with Duke and Bear.

That means the obligatory "tragic chestburster death" would happen to either Homewrecker or Buster (which one that so happens to replace Bella).

Cutter could die at the end because in her ending in Infestation, she sacrifices herself to make sure the ship crashes (kind of like how Cruz sacrifices himself). If not, she could be one of the co-op multiplayer characters and it would fill the mandatory playable female character spot.

Beta is another canidate for the female co-op multiplayer character if Cutter is a NPC. If Beta is the NPC, she would be a funny geeky intel character.

PFC "Chiever" Kim wouldn't be a NPC partner or co-op because you think he dies but miraclously survives and turns up at the end.

That leaves the other two co-op players and other NPC's to be replaced by Pvt. "Brando" Whistler, Cpl. "Booker" Losso, Cpl. "Lucky" Palms, Sgt. "Gristle" Henick, PFC "Cowboy" Singh, LCpl. "Husker" Thompson, PFC "Cuchillos" Sinise, LCpl. "BBQ" Williams, Cpl. "Bonesaw" Heston, LCpl. "Five-Pack" Coleman, and SSgt. "Iron Sights" Watson. Brando would be a NPC because there needs to be "fresh meat" character and possibly a set up for another tragic death. The gun crazy Bonesaw would be a fun NPC to come across. Since player one is the main character, I think anyone with an equal or higher rank would be an NPC. So that leaves Cowboy, Husker, Cuchillos, BBQ, and Five-Pack as the other possible co-op characters. Out of these, I would pick Cuchillos and Husker. Cuchillos is cool enough for player to want to play and Husker has the least amout of character development to be a NPC.

As for Hadley's Hope and Hicks, keep Hadley's Hope destoryed and keep Hicks dead unless they can come up with something better than "that's a longer story."

At some point, I think it would be wise to just set this in LV-178
