It is a good movie.

Ref: Yellow Aliens post.

There is still a lot to be told of the Alien universe.  I think that each film needs to be progressive and let the viewer discover something new about what they Aliens are and where they came from.  In Alien we learn about the creature.  In Aliens we learn about societal-structure of the species.  Alien3 and Alien Resurrection failed to give us anything new.  If we get marines again, I feel it would be a lackluster sequel.  Just look at Alien3.  In many ways it's like the first film.  One reason why it didn't particularly work was because we had already experienced that senario in the original film.

I think if there is any new film to be made, it needs to be based on the origins of the species...which may or may not include space jockeys.  Otherwise its gonna be something we've all seen before.

Alien 3 gave us the Dog ALien and Alien Res gave us the newborn.

No........... it gave us the newborn.  Allthough I do agree wit hyou that ALien Res wasn't really nessacery, and that allthough it had a newborn in it, it really didn't add much to the ALien mytholgy.

lucan khan

it kind of show how adaptable alien DNA is, but rather than have CM later made into a film, i still think its would be good to have some sort stories, like a tv series but with film quality, look at all the comics, how cool would it be to see them made into an adaption,

I'd just be an Aliens remake.

I don't think it follows around those characters (Ripley, Hicks etc).  I believe it's a different squad of marines.

That Yellow Alien

Alien 3 and A:R, despite any views you may have, did add to the mythology of the creatures. Alien 3 solidified the idea that they take traits from their hosts. We also had a Queen chestburster, which confirmed that they are born from facehuggers as well.

A:R gave us a generation of Aliens with even more human characteristics, as well as the god awful Newborn.

AVP is the only film that gave us nothing new.

Then it'd be very much the same.

Sequels and side stories are similar to their predecessors but aren't the same.  If this took place after Hicks, Ripley, and Newts death.. it wouldn't be a remake or the same.  It would be a movie about a side story we have never heard of.
