Did anyone else find that watching lots people being killed off throughout the movie... you know... tiresome? Thats one of the probs my uncle has with it, watching random people being killed off again and again and again, it gets boring after a while. Loses the whole idea and power of seeing people being killed.
Well yeah there was no real tension it was just a kill frenzy film.

The killing was ok, it was nothing burtal at all.
I have friends who still don't know what happened in this movie, and they were watching the unrated cut. They called it "boring."
I still think that's a bit harsh, but they're the target audience.
Well if the people making the movies dont want to spend time on character development, then they might as well just kill every last damn annoying "teenager" (yeah right, they were all well into their 20s).
This is what my older cousin had to say about the film he's like 40 years old.
-- " this isn't a movie you can see over and over again because it will hurt your eyes"
-- "you know what killed this movie man? The fight scenes are too fast, you can't see what happens"
-- "Ok, let me put my eyes to the test now"
-- "Yo! Can you please rewind that for me, I couldn't make out what happens?"
-- "Wow bro, it looks like a good fight but I can't see what they're doing?"
^ Keep in mind the whole time I didn't say a word to him, I let him make up his own dam mind, nothing about the film botherd him except the darkness. Hmmm, thats stange, what would make him say those things? ::)

Watched avp:r again last night. I remain amazed at how the whole production crew, producers/editors and the SB somehow thought complete darkness in 90% of the scenes constituted a good movie.
Yet the brothers have no answer to this, they've always side step that topic. It's just more of a dead give away that they f**ked up and they don't want to take any responsibility for it.
But thats ok, because the door swings both ways, they wanna act like this film did no damage to their career, but it did and it's just a matter of time until their bull shit catches up with them.
I dont think they will find trouble making more weird music videos. I'm really not that surprised the movie is one ink blot, their use of shadow in their art shorts is fantastic. Maybe they can make AVP3 outta clay lol.
It was never the Strause Brothers destiny to direct anything that has Aliens or Predators in it.
They don't understand the complexities of the word destiny. They belong doing CGI work and directing music vidoes, thats it! If you are given 30-40 mil to direct a film and you f**k it up as bad as AVP-R....that is a clear sign you need to go back to where you came from.

Touchet... but I myself don't go out and buy a movie until I've seen it somewhere else, or heard a positive review. (from someone I trust, not a critic) That way I know I'm not wasting my $$.
I have to agree with the sight problems. Directrors and preducers assume way to much these days, they assume that we have eyes, they assume that we can actually see. They need to start preparing for those people like PHANTOM, who have a disease where they must keep their eyes closed at all times. it makes me sick.

Action... of course but there are no need to Kill a human every seconds (they could make a closer cast for Requiem with fewer people and make their character more interesting with death which shocked cos you don't expect it.)
Brother Strause are just bad director, they can claim "yes but you know when you make a movie... the production..." it's just not a reason at all, it explain a part of what happened but if you don't stay the master on the set of course you gonna make shit.
And about color correction, they can't say that's a problem with the producer, it would take less time to don't touch color than they did it.
But i still believe in the movie, the main problem is how the Camera was use. (of course, i don't take in consideration the script, etc. which are total bullshit.)

He said the color grading would be different to make the film better. Nothing was mentioned about 'perfect'.

Yeah. I liked AVPR and am not afraid to admit it. The movie has flaws, but it's a huge step up from AVP in many respects.

I agree, I mean there are quite a few bad things but not every little thing was bad about it.
I didn't have a problem with the killing in this movie. I wanted everyone to be killed.
On the topic of killing; I thought Jesse's death in the theatrical version is one of the best deaths ever put in a movie ;D
