Title: Logan Marshall-Green Lands 'Prometheus'
Post by: Darkoo on Mar 14, 2011, 10:02:51 PM
QuoteRidley Scott and 20th Century Fox have tapped Logan Marshall-Green to play a lead role in Prometheus, the science fiction film that Scott next directs. Marshall-Green will play the role of Holloway, a crewman on the space ship and the love interest for the character played by Noomi Rapace. Rapace, the Girl with the Dragon Tattoo star, was the first castmember set by Scott. Marshall-Green most recently was seen in Devil and Brooklyn's Finest, and did stints on The O.C. and 24. He's repped by 3 Arts and Gersh. This was a role that a lot of young actors chased, and who wouldn't want to be involved in Scott's first sci-fi foray since Alien?

A lead role.

Not the lead role.

Do any Lost fans out there find it kind of funny that Damon Lindelof wrote a script where a main character is named Holloway?

I thought that the Dr Who homage with the Elizabeth Shaw was offputting enough

That's what I was gonna say. Some people still haven't seen Blade Runner?

It's amazing....Ridley Scott directs two science fiction films and they have single-handedly defined the genre itself....and now he's back....I couldn't be more excited.

I wanna know who the composer is gonna be, more than anything right now. Vangelis' score is the best I've heard in a Scott film. That's right, probably better than Jerry's Alien score. But that's just me.

I hear one note of 'Memories of Green', and can do nothing but nod my head in agreement like a drinking bird in a windtunnel.

That's my stay-up-all-night soundtrack sorted.

IMO the cast is too young/modern looking for a realistic/gritty film on par with the original... I guess the first film really was just a product of the time.  :'(

Vangelis' score was fantastic....but it doesn't compare to the empty nearly hollow and haunting score from Goldsmith. I want a similar score hopefully. By now whomever the composer is hard at work on the soundtrack. We'll probably know soon.
