That photo confirms and denies my argument. It shows yes in fact it was his legs and feet in the film. It also shows why in the film the heel spike is missing.

The heel spikes are clearly visible in that photo. They're not obvious in the film because they're pointed towards camera.

You said the heel spikes weren't visible in the film shot. They are. You said the photo showed why. It doesn't.

It's not even clear that's an addition. It could well be the rubber of the suit coming apart. They were notoriously fragile during the shoot and frequently tore.
