To be honest, I think the CGI version looks much better in this case.

Yeah the suit's texture is a bit rough, like a plaster wall without a coat of paint.

I think it was always meant to be replaced by CGI and the suit was for reference and to have something for the actors to act against.
You can't do the shots Ridley wanted with a man-in-suit.

That's the bad thing about CGI, though.

Maybe it's a good thing to not have the Alien bouncing all over the place like some cartoon character.


Like, use a man in a suit, or a puppet, and then have CGI to do the mouth effect.
