I voted good cause there was really nothing wrong with it
It sucked.
seems a pretty normal line , the right thing to say on that situation by anyone
however , this line is a classical P1 quote , so don't make any diference in AVP R .... Dallas is not a tough guy like Dutch ....
^^
that still has to be determained after we watch
Considering the fact it was supposed to be a homage, which makes you remember the fantastic way in which Ah-nold delivered it, it just pales in comparison. Nothing special about the line itself, it's more about who delivers it, and in this area Arnie has no competition, anybody elses attempts are simply meaningless.
It stuck out like a sore thumb. I winced when he said it, like when somebody fakes you out.
I voted ok, although I think instead of that they should've used "Your one UGLY motherf***er!" as it's a trademark line and should be in every Predator and Alien Vs. Predator film. To have it in AvP and not even say the full line and not have it in AvPR is stupid. Well I think so anyway. Who agrees?
No.
And on to the flat out stupid line, get to the chopper...
Horrible.
Honestly, the T-800 could say it with feeling.
About as lame a homage attempt Lex saying "one ugly mother-" in AvP.

I'd say that is worse, because Lex didn't even finish the f**king line...

She did, it was just "bleeped" by that thinga-majigy that shoots out that thing that you put lights into. :P
It wasn't bleeped out, she was cut off by the Alien trying to head bite her. Still sucks ass...

if you actually look at all his interviews you will see it right in your face

For an Alien movie with Predators in it it's still fun to watch.

Amitriptyline. ;D
Is it me or the way the clip is edited... but when he says "Get to the chopper!" isn't the chopper literally 5 feet behind them?
Anyway didn't like the delivery at all, it's getting to the point where a good 1/3 of the material I've seen is some kind of reference or homage to the previous movies. I'm begining to ask myself how much of this film is actually going to be original material.
Quotehow much of this film is actually going to be original material.
A very small part. To bad there is no talent in it.

Well, I never bought the double-disc special edition, so it figures I never heard that.
I liked it, but it was just a line, it wasn't going to be like NOIOO! RICK!!! Go! GET TO DAHH CHOOPPA!!! It was just a normal line to say, it worked at least.
To be honest, I didn't even notice it the 1st time I watched it, it was only after everyone started complaining about it that I went back and watched. It was an allright line, it wasn't supposed to be a big cool line like when Arnie said it, it was just a line.
It still is a Predator line, but i guess that it sounds cooler from Arnie's mouth. ;)
if you are not going to go 'RUUUUUUUUUUUUNNNNN!!!!!!!!!!! GET TO DA CHOPPA!!!!!!!!!!!!'
i do not see the point.
I hope this film has more original material going for it than the Predalien, the Predator's mask, and the teens. From what I gather, the film's turning out to be "Aliens meets Predator 2." Considering they wanted to have OWLF's crew from Predator 2, it only makes my dismay stronger.
As for the line: it was iconic because Arnold has that thick accent to work with. It's just not the same when you drop it into the middle of the script.

Yah,it wasn't in such a big hurry like in the first Predator movie. :)
I couldn't stop wondering why he said it, and why he said it like that. It was totally incongruous.

Yeah, what I'm thinking too. Why did he say it like that? ???
Probably cuz they wasn't in such a big hurry.
I am beginning to think that you guys are going to say that this line from Predator will be ruinded like "You are one ugly motherf**ker" in AvP 1. :-\
two acceptable ways of doing a homage line.
1. over the top 'GET TO DA CHOPPA!!!!!!!!'
2. subtle like a lesser known line from predator 2. maybe one of keye's lines.

call me crazy I think they need to get to the chopper on the roof ::) you know since that is what the gang is trying to do the whole movie
He's talking about the execution, not the line itself.

And here I'm talking about when Arnie said it in P1 not when Dallas says it in AvP-R.
do you honestly want some wussy looking, wannabe badass to impersonate arny, voice and all? thought that would be kinda funny... ;D
There was no way to put the line in anywhere and satisfy anyone.
-He executed the line bad
-not enough feeling
-it's not the same as arnie
-he's too skinny to say it
-he said it too fast
-he said it too slow
-he said it too quiet
-he said it too loud
-he said it too early
-he said it too late
-it's an alien movie too, so it doesn't count
-I hate that line
It was one line that they didn't expect to become so popular, you can't replicate it. ::)

Well in that case, it's because that's the accent Arnie has.
if i was trying to protect my brother and we had to get to the chopper, i would say.. get to the chopper
How about they try and create their own priceless line, instead of relying on the old films for material? I nearly puked during the first AvP when 'Ugly mother' was used, twice.
Now if Dallas said it in an arnold like voice, Id be pissed.
^ Agreed.
Me too. I don't really mind 1 or 2 subtle homages, but when the movie is built upon homages, thats a bad sign usually.
Quote from: Pvt. Hicks on Dec 22, 2007, 11:59:07 PM
AvP 3 should have no homages in it. At all. Nothing cute. Just straight new material. Who here agrees?
sounds good but were would it take place? as far as ur opinion
Sort of reminds me of Die Another Day. I'm in for no homages in the next one, allthough i didn't hate the min this one.
At least the way the line's used isn't in a cheesy way, like in AVP - "You're one ugly mother...CLUNK!!!!".
I'm sick of one liners, anyway. The only movie of the series not to have one-liners is Alien, and that movie was the most realistic of the saga.

"Knock, knock" and "stick around" are the worst Arny one liners... EVER!
Alien3. That didn't have much in the way of one liners.

HAha yeah ey, i cant remember where i heard it, but he said something like this "When i wake up in the morning i cant believe im on the set with aliens.........and predators."
He kept forgetting...
As for the line, I didn't mind the delivery. They weren't going for badass moreso a "we'll slip it in here". It was delivered the way it woulda been in real life.

I loved that one.
I think it's lame, not poorly delivered or anything wrong with the acting,
just a lazy clichéd idea... :-\
