It's canon in the grander Marvel multiverse though.

Heck, we already had Brett in the MCU.  Anyone remember, "Are you an alien"?

I thought that HDS role was more Repo Man.

Trying to recall when that was.  Are you referring to when Deadpool called Megasonic Teenage Warhead as Ripley in Alien 3?

The Defenders TV show.

Just read issue 2 of AVA.  Solid!

I hope to see Hawkeye take on an Alien before this is through.  Seriously.

This kind of has a feel like the Final Fantasy movie from a few decades ago.  And that film felt like Aliens somewhat...

How do the Covenant elements play into the plot?

I find that elements from the movies are portrayed allegorically. Like in the first issue we have an arrangement of asteroids that look like the planet system in Prometheus. So without getting into spoilers, the second issue does that sort of thing again.

This series is easily the most promising so far since Marvel took over.

Spoiler
Digging the stuff with David and the Engineers.

I don't know how the multiverse works, but isn't David killing everyone in every universe with the Aliens. How does that effect other comic continuity?

Hopefully we see Old Man Rogers again.

And minor quibble - but the Engineer ships seem to be flying backwards.

It's flying the way it was always meant to fly. Ridley even screwed that part up.

I don't remember Giger writing which way it was meant to fly. Is it in his diary?

Don't know.  It was assumed for a long time (in part due to the comics, but also the way it was shot in Alien) that it flew prongs forward.  Prometheus and Covenant showed the opposite.

Yeah but there's a difference between "was assumed" and "was meant to".
