I was just viewing my list of theaters for show times and there's nothing of Predators turning up anywhere. Can I get a doublecheck if anyone is getting the same results in their area?
Same. It's been about a month, usual amount of time for a movie that isn't high profile to last.
It comes out on dvd next month doesn't it?

Adrien Brody stars as Royce, a mercenary who reluctantly leads a group of elite warriors who come to realize they've been brought together on an alien planet as prey. With the notable exception of a disgraced physician, they are all cold-blooded killers - mercenaries, Yakuza, convicts, death squad members, human 'predators' that are now being systemically hunted and eliminated by a new breed of alien Predators.
^ Yeah i know I was misinformed. I changed my post lol. I just hope they add extras and its not just the movie and a trailer.
You know I just saw the film two hours ago here in Finland.
Jebus that must be a record for DVDs.
What is FOX doing? Is the budget for the next flick coming out of what this one made or something?
I guess the super duper special edition will come out later on?

Dude it's all good I didn't even see that you had edited your post. :)
Well the Predators movie grossed about $103.5 Mill and the Budget was $40mil so i say it did really great and maybe itll come out on DVD faster!
I doubt release dates get bumped up just because a title was a hit, but I haven't been paying attention to these things the past couple of years. At the very least, I could expect special box sets with deleted scenes included. This usually happens around high earners.
I have possibly one final chance to see this coming up at the budget theater. This friday I'll know if it's playing and if I can get the $1 special for myself and a few friends. :)
Technically, I still see it coming out on DVD in two months. We are only on the first of August still, it comes out at the very end of September.
Well, It managed to make $103, 000, 000 in less 3 weeks. I say success.
September 29!? That's crazy fast! Are we sure these are DVDs/Blu-ray and not VHS?
dude, this better be a version with extras and shit and not just the movie like they did with avatar.

QFT.
I refuse to buy the blu ray twice!
Over here Predators is still in the cinema's went to predators two times last week. It is in the top 6 of top 10 movies. So probably it will stay a while in cinema.
I totally missed the DVD news, but f**k, that actually makes people wait for it to hit the shelves instead of going to the theatre...

yeah, and to think it was only this year that a lot of cinema's kicked up a fuss when disney wanted to get alice in wonderland out on DVD slightly fater than normal due to the world cup. and that had the advantage of being in 3D in the cinemas

Considering VHS is not really made anymore, I think we're pretty sure.
Its still showing here in Australia
I was going to go watch it for the third time yesterday but then I realize it's not there anymore so I was like, FML!!

It was a joke.
My theater is still playing it, and we are going to take it out by Friday. Too bad the movie did not last long, and had a major drop off in the second week. I feel like AVPR lasted longer in theaters if you ask me.

I think we will get a DVD release in early November.
It's only made $49mil domestically, which to me is a bomb. Thanks to all the azzholes who didn't pay to see it and help keep the franchise going.
You can't tell me only 6 or 7 million people were a fan of the first Predator movie (49mil divided by $7 per ticket) Where the hell are the rest of the fans of the original movie? Watching the lastest Seth Rogen crapfest?
Edit: the first Predator made 60mil, so at about $3.75 per ticket that's 16 million people, where the hell did they go?

They probably had their hearts broken by the poor P2 and then had it ripped out completely by AvP and AvPR resulting in them being righting of Predators altogether.
Fox did not give this movie much backing and based on its budget and how awfull the last 3 Pred films were recieved I think Predators has done very well. It had a lot of things going against it and its done well.

Which makes me wonder why they'd hire Rodriguez but then not bother to promote it . . .
Also, P2 made me more excited for Predators, not less. I remember always hoping they'd actually make a movie where the Predator survives. Still waiting . . .

Predators was not Promoted????
I dont see what you are talking about considering the bombardment of tv spots I saw on different channels. The considerable ammount of behind the scenes videos, the character Featurettes, the countless interviews and the appearence of the movie at SXSWW in Austin Texas. And Adrien Brody's Appearence on a letterman (or Leno i dont remember which)
How in the world was this film not promoted? I think this film is a great example of good promotion for a movie.

bad promotion. If I wasn't a member here, I wouldn't even know the movie exists.

as someone mentioned, had I not been a Predator fan boy I would not even heard of this movie! A lot of my friends, who are fans of the original but hated P2, did not even hear about the movie until they saw a poster in the local cinema!!
i think I have only ever caught one TV spot for Predators and that was day before release date (UK) whereas I have seen numerous trailers for films like Inception, Twilight, hell I have seen couple of TV spots for A-team!!! I think Fox got their fingers burnt badly with P2 and the AvP franchise and therefore did not want to take the risk. Now that Predators is a success expect a marketing frenzy for its sequel!!

Its still here dude... in IL..
They probably want to get it on DVD quickly before people start burning it off the net.
Here in Australia for one week during a big sporting event (State of Origin) the ads were all over TV like crazy, with even a couple during the actual game, then nothing.... lol I didn't see another add again. I think Fox spent all it's marketing budget for Australia during that week!

same here, my step dad who keeps up with movies and stuff didn't know about it until after i had seen it, i think most of my friends heard about it through me.
although i feel that most people i know don't actually watch a lot of TV, or watch TV through a DVR, or with on-demand players. which cut out most adverts. they should have spent more money getting the stars to promote the movie on chat shows and stuff. also more internet advertising.
TV advertising is almost pointless these days what with all those things i mentioned
Still in theaters, here in North Florida. 24 days seems a little premature to pull the movie, based on previous movies:

LOL @ P2 :D
Maybe they will get some more money...
Because in some countries is not released yet. For example here in Spain, the movie hits in 27th August.

Very annoying.

Predators is proof of the power of word of mouth.
I'm actually surprised that it even made that much money.
I just saw it for the second time yesterday and it's still showing here in Australia for one more week.
Probably still playing in large parts of Europe & other backwater locations that received the film about a month late.

Still playing at one of my local theaters. The 3 others stopped playing it about a week ago. (I'm in California)
Too bad the movie left my theater rather quicky. I'm gussing all of the fans, and people who wanted to see it in my town are done seeing it, and waiting for it on DVD.
AND YEt... I HASNT premiered on México. mother f**keeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeers.

Give me a break. Commercials were running all the time on Spike TV and other stations for at least a week prior to release. Saw Fishburne on the George Lopez show, even Ron & Fez mentioned it briefly..
The film just went from my theatre a couple of days ago.
its still in kuwait went to it twice on the 29th of july and last thursday
