Sweet zombie Jesus!  :o  So full of win! The alien hive looks perfect and the facehugger actually has fingernails which make it all the creepier! Look at its legs - like long, pale human fingers. F**kin' A!

Nice pics mann....
My fav is the second 1 ( the one with the facehugger)

And in the third pic ( the 1 after the facehugger 1 ) , did the alien at the left actually bite the ARM OFF of that marine ? If thats so , then thats just so BADASSS. ;D

And wtf is that damn huge green thing at the 4th pic? ( the 1 after the alien biting marine's arm off)

Oh man, 3rd and 4th from the bottom are the kind I like(namely the 3rd).  If it's more of those, I wouldn't really have an issue with MP maps(cept the ones we were shown!).  That is, hopefully those aren't just SP maps.

Title: Re: 10 new screenshots released
Post by: GrimyGhost on Jan 13, 2010, 04:35:23 PM
3 possible reasons..
1. No AA (ported)
2. Screens have been compressed
3. ...... NO PC CAN HANDLE IT!!

i hope its not the third.. :-\

Post by: Puks on Jan 13, 2010, 04:36:08 PM
C' mon, Brother, nails are cool. It gives the facehugger some human quality which make it all more disturbing and scary. Giger would approve.

The facehugger is essentially the Hand of rape. Now it's literally a hand.  :D

Quote3 possible reasons..

4. Rebellion don't have a PC powerful enough to run it.  ;D  I seriously doubt AA is not available, can't imagine a new game on PC without it.

I don't recall huggers having nails and they shouldn't have any human qualities since they don't have any connection with humans. Adults are a different story.

The damn thing looks like a big HAND now.

They had in the movies, IIRC. Not in the games, though. Graphics were limited then. Now it's a different story.

Damn, I love those fingers! Finally something done right design-wise.

Brother this isn't about DNA mixing. It's about Giger's visions. He intended the facehuggers to look like hands. Hands of rape.

And honestly - what's more terrifying? Raped by a spider-like-thingy or by a human hand-spider-like-thingy?

Looks really nice. It badly needs AA though, especially visible in the indoor screens.

I like that screen with the Predator aiming at the Alien. The red glow on the Alien looks awesome, the Plasma charing looks pretty good too.

Only if they would show an ingame screen with the Smartgun or other weapons not revealed yet..

yep, lack of decals, maybe some props on the floor like cans or paper would brake it up a bit

Just didn't want to be the first person mentioning that.  :D
But i agree.

Also on that indoor screen with the Marine firing his handgun, the light/sun shines through the window shades on the table and THROUGH the table to light the floor. Thought that was a thing of the past, that doesn't look realistic.

I know i'm nitpicking, it's not gonna make a big change for me anyway. But i thought it's worth mentioning.

Freudians say that part of the reason spiders are so scary is that they remind us of hands, so apperently Giger actually did research to make the creatures more disturbing. by the way LARGE, many people who worked with him are asking themselves the same question"Why didn't he become a serial killer?" Many people also thought he was some sort of vampire(I don't blame them ! ;))

The holy canon. I'm not arguing with it but the fact that matters is some people were surprised when they first saw the nails, then went back to the movie to notice that they were there. Like I said, they weren't as noticeable in the movies.

Fair enough. Just don't say that around the Freudians, you don't want to know what they'll do to you. :-X

The screenshots look weird (some of them) because they were taken at very high resolution with minimum 8AA and then downscaled, so you can have better image quality...

P.S. Anyone else to say now that DX11 is looking better than DX9 and DX10??? Because you must blind not to see the difference between the new screenshots (100% PC) and the rest...Go ahead Hardware Tessalation :)

First: when that FSAA trick applies, why are the models rendered with blocky/pixelated edges? They should be smoother/more rounded.

Second: Hardware Tessalation, IF used, is poorly executed/downright absent. Just take the Unigine techdemo to try it out for yourself: the walls would be much more bumpy.

After seeing those recent MLG gameplay vids and now these screens, I have to say the game is turning out to be above and beyond my expectations. I was talking about it with a friend (who's not an avp fan like me) and he said "it's just another fps". I laughed so hard @ him especially after seeing those vids. It's actually on a whole different level. I never thought I would play the Alien but good god I think I might have to for a bit now, they did a sick job on the wall walking and leaping around. It seems like they really made this game dark with the holding and caressing the humans as they get face-f**ked haha that's awesome. I really hope I can run it well because I foresee hours of avp gameplay goodness in my future.

First: This is the result from the movement of the objects and the downscale of the image. It's seen in DiRT2 and in other games, too. See it for yourself.
Second: Hardware Tesselation is implemented only on Aliens models. It's not seen on Marine, Predators or other stuff. But it's really beautiful. So don't try to make it like it didn't seems better.

uh, Tesselation doesnt *just* affect the Alien models, it's supposed to effect everything closer to the camera/viewpoint of the player.

The tech stuff shown on youtube shows the detail level increases on the alien model, predator model and also on the world around.

Indeed the conquest mode, clearly there's no other explanation. I'm not sure how it works on AvP yet but it should be something like if your team has control of the base, you can respawn there. I'll try to ask around.

The graphics don't look that amazing... The hive walls look a bit flat... And the lack of anti aliasing is worrying.

Maybe with Anti Aliasing on they will look better, and the SSAO and shadows look to be quite low resoloution. And the lighting on the aliens in the hive picture looks pretty weird.

In any case, I am sure it will be a very fun game. Even if it does end up looking not great, that probably just means that it will run better.

Thanks a bunch for those pics Ikarop.

They really look outstanding and even more so that they actually are on a pc after months of waiting to see some "close to gold" screenshots from my beloved platform ;).

If the story, the gameplay/balance and the MP is nearly that good like the gfx of this game Rebellion could have a big AAA title up their sleeves - hopefully.

The lack of AA is worriessome but I guess that simply want to surprise us, hopefully with even better screens later this month or start of the next one ;).

Because it makes it look nasty. Everything has these horrible jagged edges to them which completely ruin immersiveness and realism.

AA is one of the first things that i, personally, need in a game. I would preffer the game to have bad models and textures over jagged edges. I can cope with them as I did in Dead Space, but it still is pretty annoying.

Really? Look at the edge of objects. Rather then having smooth lines, and curves or lines at angles are all jagged and pixely. I myself usually only loose about 2-4 frames when enabling anti aliasing. And I'm talking like 8x at 1920 x 1080 too.

Well that's you. I think the fact that everyone is noticing it in this thread kind of proves it is sticking out like a sore thumb in an otherwise awesome looking game. It would indeed some hard to imagine why they would make a big deal about DX11 support an how it makes models smoother if the lack of AA is going to be making everything pixelated anyway.

Unreal Engine 2 games didn't provide built-in anti-aliasing. Nobody complained about it, despite every Unreal generation being a major technological benchmark, because it's just as easy to force AA in your graphics card's software.  ::)

Unreal Engine 2 games didn't provide built-in anti-aliasing. Nobody complained about it, despite every Unreal generation being a major technological benchmark, because it's just as easy to force AA in your graphics card's software.  ::)
Not always. Dead Space can't have anti aliasing enabled. Neither can Spore (That's a crappy game anyway though)

I couldn't get AVP2 to run with anti aliasing either. But it's not really that much of an issue with older games. But with the incredible graphical detail that we're getting these days it's just SO annoying to have all these jagged lines appear which remind you it's just a game.

If you're running at a resolution above 1680x1050, you don't need AA anyway. It just drags down your frames.

Yes you do... Trust me. You might not NEED it. But the jagged lines are still very noticeable.

You don't need it. It can help, but if the game is taxing enough, don't bother. 2xAA won't make much difference anyway.

Wait what? Dead space looked really great!

I did notice that when I played Dead Space way back when. I mean, I noticed it and shrugged it off. If the gameplay is solid, it's a very minor issue. But I get what you're saying and agree, I'd like it to look as best as it possibly can.

And, if anyone can play Mass Effect and deal with THAT frame rate fiasco, the *apparent* lack of AA here shouldn't be so bad.

But fingers crossed it'll turn out ok.

Yeah I'm kind of itching to see the requirements too. I don't think it will be that bad honestly, at least not any worse than some of the more recent first person shooters. Lol I already discussed this in the other thread on system req. but a friend of mine runs crysis at 1680x1050 on mostly high and he has an athlon 3000+ and a 9800gt (not gtx), 2gb ram, and vista. I have a 3500+, 2gb ddr400, and a 6800gt but I just ordered a new mobo and video card just to run this at least somewhat....Asus A8N-SLI SE and a gtx 260 core 216... I'll be running @ 1280x1024. I know I know bottleneck from hell but still, *crosses fingers* hopefully the game is more gpu dependent. It can't be more demanding than crysis even if the minimums state otherwise.

Yeah, specs would be great. I just bought a new computer this week because my older one (Which is less than 2 years old) has been running like s*** for a long time now. Dunno why, but it became bogged down with just running slower and slower over time. Surprisingly it ran Crysis on mostly medium graphics and it has only 2 gigs of ddr2 ram and a 256 PCI-E video card and a 32-bit OS. i forget what processor it had, but im sure it was less than 2 ghz.

This new pc came with an AMD Phenom II X4 910 2.60 ghz processor, 8gb of ddr2 ram, 512 ddr3 PCI-E video card, and a 64-bit OS. havnt tried Crysis yet, havnt been investing any time into my older pc games anyway, still trying to pass the time waiting for AvP by pillaging achievements out of my Xbox 360 games. Im praying that this PC can run AvP on High detail smoothly.

I betchya they release the demo AFTER the game is released to the public next month. Seems like thats how developers are doing things anymore, i don't see demo's for a lot of good games until well after the game has been released..

Even on my 24" widescreen with 1920*1200 resolution, I just tend to prefer 4-8X FSAA, so it just looks smoother. But if a game hardly runs on that resolution, I'm quite fine with regular rendering.

I also mention the recent MP videos which you can distinctly see they are different.

The arms I've seen so far in the vids appear more insect like (segmented) than in previous arm designs.

I'm just wondering if that is a new design or some sort of skin you can apply.

WARNING
This post makes comparisons between PC and console play, but try to read it objectively as I am clearly not trolling or flaming either platform.  I am simply acknowledging a few things--not implying any experience is superior or inferior.  They are just different experiences--so different they must be handled with an independent perspective, and that is part of the point of this post.
WARNING

So while these screens do look great and all, all that fluff will be pointless if they don't consider the peculiarities of the PC experience in terms of input methods and user control.  For instance, to name just a few off the top of my head:

The PC has plenty of extra buttons for the all-around standard crouch function that's expected to be in every PC FPS, and no doubt every PC gamer is going scour the control configuration for a few minutes and then ultimately end up utterly dumbfounded when they find their answer to the "Where do I map the crouch function in AvP3?" question on google.  I don't know how many of you are PC gamers, but it's so awkward and limiting not having a crouch function in a PC fps.  Our hands have been so thoroughly trained to automatically configure themselves with the pinky resting on the Ctrl or Shift button that it will be almost disorienting when depressing the key results in no crouch (more confusing when it results in another function).  But the main problem is that it will be immensely frustating lacking the capacity for something as mundane as simply crouching behind something to hide (and I don't believe an AVP map maker could even intentionally design a good map where there is no opportunity for this), or approach the enemy under low cover.  I'm not sure if console gamers feel the same way, but--on this forum at least--the general console-crowd defense of Rebellion's decision to omit it makes me think it's not as big of a deal on that platform.  It surely is a very big deal on the PC.  Different platforms have different demands.

"Automatic melee attack tracking" at close range will hurt the PC version.  If you look at the MP videos for the console play, the player simply needs to be within a certain range of and angle from the enemy and press the melee attack button, and the game automatically tracks (ie a very significant suggestion to the player's aim) the enemy for the attack--ala a Call of Duty knife attack.  The PC already has the mouse to accomplish this, and its manual execution is considered a necessary challenge.  Without challenge and variability like this, the game quickly becomes routine; it is being "played for us" by the computer.  On a console controller, I imagine it doesn't feel this way, based on console gamers' reactions.

Trophy kills really don't belong in the PC version either.  A person with a mouse can quite deftly aim at an enemy's head in the midst of jumping and pouncing all around at high speeds, and (1), with an alien, attempt a headbite (which, depending on the trajectory of the pharyngeal jaws, may or may not have been successful in AvP2) or (2), as a predator, perform a spine rip (if from behind).  Likewise for impaling an enemy with an Alien's tail or a Predator's wrist blade.  These could all be very dynamic attacks that blend seemlessly with the other attacks, but, as they are now, they're too static; the gameplay comes to an abrupt halt while the animation sequence plays out (and it will look the same way every time, mind you).

The problem is you can't expect the average or even somewhat experienced person with a gamepad to, for instance, aim at one's head in the midst of all the haywire of an AvP game (But I do acknowledge that some of you console guys are pretty good with those joysticks and could pull it off), so you need to simplify the process: you do what God of War--a series I love--does and generalize it to a button or few that presents the user with a challenge, but does not directly engage them in the process of the animation.  Now do I expect Rebellion to completely change the PC gameplay and reimplement these dynamically?  Absolutely not.  At most I would expect the manual Alien headbite which has been standard in every AvP game (and the corpse head-bite doesn't count), and something for the Predator.  But having these static animation sequences is not putting the PC controls to good use.

I must stress that I am not saying "Ha Ha! Look at how much more deft we are with our mice and keyboards!", but more of "I understand it's like this because that's how it should work on a gamepad, but that method works pretty poorly on the PC"

If considerations to the PC aren't made in the above respects and many others, it's just a little bit prettier of a console game on a PC, and both PC and console gamers know that (1) it's very rare that console gameplay works, one-to-one, on PCs and (2) it's very rare that PC gameplay works on consoles.  Take a game with as many variables as AvP, and this is even more of the case.  These aren't "elitist" statements or something--just acknowledgements that PC gaming and console gaming are both very different experiences.  As it appears right now, the console gamers are getting gameplay designed for consoles, and the PC gamers are getting gameplay that is very far from what works well on a PC (Yes, we haven't actually seen gameplay on PC yet, but this in itself generally means that either (1) any peculiarities of the PC gameplay are not something they expect PC gamers to be excited about or (2) they have a big surprise.  The former is much more likely).  The problem is the game must be designed to suit each of them independently (at least in terms of basic consideration for the very different control schemes).  Simply adding mouse and keyboard support remapped the console-input functions is in no way whatsoever a consideration of the PC platform.

So, yeah, those screens look great, and it's interesting to see them giving the PC version some DX11 support, but they could have hired a game-logic programmer as opposed to a PC graphics programmer and changed a few things in the PC gameplay to develop something more suitable (and we would have been much happier).

Even though PC gamers may boast about the pretty graphics on their platform, we really do care about gameplay quality over everything else; that's something console gamers and PC gamers can always agree on.  But the means to obtaining good gameplay on each respective platform are very different.

(Note: The point of this post is not to justify whether or not it would make sense for Rebellion to put more development time into a PC version; the PC market for this game is substantially smaller than the console market, so I'm assuming Sega wouldn't even permit them to do so if they had desired.  You can, in part, consider this a general explanation for why PC gamers have been pretty ticked off lately by the current trends in gaming, and--using AvP3 as an example--why they tend to target the consoles for blame.).

And sorry for the huge paragraphs.

speaking of FSAA: I've read that AvP, like Killzone 2, heavily relies on differred rendering. The upside is the sheer amount of atmosphere you can add, the downside is that FSAA won't work.
Oh god... If this is true I will cry... That's the reason that Dead Space can't use anti aliasing. Still, that game was very atmospheric. But the constant flickering of those un AAed models did take away from the immersiveness.

To be honest, to cry about FSAA when a game looks like this... Seems a bit like being a crybaby for the sake of it. Sure, it'd be nice to have FSAA, if available at affordable framerates, it get's turned on. But if it just is impossible, so be it, it'd still be a freaking good looking game.
Or just forcefully enable it through either via nVidia control panel or the ATI catalyst drivers etc.

Read what I stated about differed rendering and FSAA: them don't mix.
You can force your arse off, but it downright won't work.
Someone will mod it to work at some point. ;)

might be a good idea to split the forum into a console section and pc section cause its only gonna get worse the closer we get to release...

@Birds

I can understand your worries, messed up controls easily destory games and some games seem to be kinda platformspecific (i like halo and gears of war on the xbox, but at the PC they really make no fun to me, Games like Fear and Battlefield build the opposite case).
And Auto-Aim and other more heavy assists dont have place in PC-Gaming, in my opinion, but i can imagine that trophykills etc. can gave something extra, as long as it dont means other primairy things are damaged.

Besides i can imagine that the trophykills or/and stealthkills (and maybe some other things) emarge as something pretty bad, if you played it a while. If I imagine that they are abusable, annul skill or just being pissed, cause you got killed directly by countering a trophy-/stealth-kill from your other enemy.  by a third guy, who got all time in the world, cause the trophykills take too much time.
And a absolute no-go are unrealistic times invulnerability.
So i be patient and wait with a preorder, how it all work out finally, cause some errors are first visible, if the depths of the gameplay are present, after a while of onlinegaming and i hope they take out things, which come from the focus on the consoles.

I dont want to complain or be to pessimistic, but im worried, cause thats maybe one of the last games i really care for, before i start focus on other hobbys.
And i absolutly prefer the PC in this case, even im happy to got a PC and a XBox.

Edit: If they bring out a SDK, everything would be allright. People like AJL make, some games worth playing (AVP2,...) or much better (Morrowind,...).

I like both for example but some things are hard to realize on both platforms (rts like Starcraft and Dawn of War on the console), or its just the "sofa-factor" for example (i prefer to play beatemups on consoles and race game mostly too).
I think shooters are something special cause you can realy make a good one on a console, but you got a few limitations or its just easyer to realize on the PC (faster turning, by absolute accuary, without any autoaiming->alien comes to mind and as pred you can find spots to jump on much faster).
Anyway everyone got a different feel and other requirements for games or whole genres on the different platforms and all factors can explain totally opposite opinions, from #### people.
There are not many things in the world, too which all people agree.

But...Just have fun and let others think, like they do.

I was opposing the whole war thing, we just have to wait and play.

Back on FSAA by the way: technically, it just can't be done... In DX9 that is, in DX10/11 it can be worked around as far as I read.

Supersampling is just a form of FSAA, so it won't work that well out of the box, nor will a mod just fix it like that.

We'll have to wait and try.

I hope you could just force the game to use FSAA with nHancer (Advanced Control Panel and Profile Editor for nVidia cards):

Oh, and I have no idea how Aliens vs Predators made it into the profiles so early. Just found it recently

You could also force better AA with the HL2 Engine:

Really cool to see the difference on screen.

Nah, not in updates, something else. Something snicky that enters from the back door. Last update was in Octobre 2009 and it has also the game 'Metro 2033' listed, which was recently announced (last week?). Or some guys can upload profiles, I dunno.

It also has Aliens: Colonial Marines already in it hehe

Can't wait to run tests on the demo.

GTA4 didn't have AA and it just screamed for it :'(

I believe that circle is.  But why are some peoples outlines different then others?  Does red mean alert, blue mean clam, etc.?

Too bad the screenshots have artifacts all over them from being handled incorrectly. Can't really see if there's AA enabled.

So Alien possibly can tell if the enemy is alert or not with color changing aura's? Seems like it would get confusing though since Human, Pred, an other Aliens probably already have different color aura's. Guess we will see. Looks like the Marine has a chance to catch the facehugger or something too an fight it off.

The facehugger is no longer a threat if you can stop it from impregnating you. Making things easier for the player again.. I am very disappointed with this.

What's the point if it doesn't instantly kill you?

Shit.

But the whole damned concept is wrong and unfaithful to movie canon.

In Aliens, Ripley gets rid of the facehugger with the help of three people, in A:R she fights it off thanks to her superhuman strength.

Conclusion - a lone marine would be powerless.

I kind of doubt that there will be a Minigun in the game. The Smartgun kinda fills that role for now, since it doesn't auto-track anymore. The difference would be very low i think (except for model and of course). Not sure about the Sadar.

I would prefer a Plasma weapon, never been a fan of the Sadar, especially in multiplayer. Kind of wierd to shoot with anti-armor weapons at Aliens and Predators.

Would be interesting to know, if you can pick up those weapons used by the WY-Synthetics. But i doubt that aswell, i guess they would want you to just carry the Pulse-Rifle instead.

I hate to go back and search for it but you will find it easy. It's a pred POV, spear in the right hand  he is just about to throw it at a soldier lying on the ground, holding the sniper.

Yep, the sniper rifle is in, but honestly I'd much more prefer weapons mentioned above.

Hmm.. confirmed: pistol, shotgun (looks sweet btw), pulse rifle, smartgun, flamethrower, sniper.
That's just six. There will be more I think.

Quotehe is just about to throw it at a soldier lying on the ground, holding the sniper.
I thought that was just a standard assault-rifle (or whatever) used by the WY-Synthetic. Has it been confirmed that it's the sniper? Looks pretty short for a sniper-rifle.

i hope theres no knife, what good is it against an alien that has acid for blood anyways... never used it in avp2 except for cutting the net of me, and from what we have been told theres no net-gun.
Would not mind using the hacking device and welding torch again tho, it helped brake up the gameplay abit.

My bad! I thought it's the only thing that actually does damage to them!  : :o

Based on AVP:R, it can. But what does it matter, i think you didn't understand me.

The Sadar is an Anti-Armor weapon, the Pulse-Rifle is an Anti-Personal weapon. That's it.

Thats most likely because of the amount of Vram on the card, i'm willing to be that anything over 512mb of ram on a card will be able to push higher settings easily.

Also by the sounds of that preview looks like it runs pretty well on less powerfull systems. :)

The ammount of memory is not responsible for the power of a GPU fyi
Example 8800GT 512mb vs 9400GT 1GB, 8800 pwns it

I wonder how it will work on a Q6600 and the HD 4870
I hope for 50-60 FPS average on 1920x1200 with everything maxed and forced

no one said it was, some games just have a block that will NOT let you use high textures without a certain requirment, and thats mostly anything lower than a gfx card with less than 1GB.

Thx, I'll need it :]

Anyone know if there is a dropdown console in the game?

I really want to have a show_fps 1 command line because I'll tear the demo apart due to serious testing for my machine with forcing FSAA, if it doesn't support it (not likely not to support it though)

I'm very well aware of that mate, alot of games benefit from raw GPU power such as the amount of stream processors or how fast the GPU in terms of core clock but having enough Vram on a GPU is just as important otherwise you won't be able to have very high res textures etc.

Of course I did. We've seen females, black dudes... I'm just noting that this particuliar guy keeps showing on most videos or gameplay footage. He's everywhere. In the story trailer looking badass firing his riffle at the end ... in multiple videos getting either head bitten or slaughtered by Preds...
He's probably the default skin for Marines and/or the first choice in the list. lol.

But the whole damned concept is wrong and unfaithful to movie canon.

In Aliens, Ripley gets rid of the facehugger with the help of three people, in A:R she fights it off thanks to her superhuman strength.

Conclusion - a lone marine would be powerless.

This isn't a movie, it's a game. Facehuggers not being an instant death is for gameplay reasons, it gives the player the chance to fight back instead of just being raped automatically.

Why the hell insta-deaths worked in previous games and suddenly we have to smash "f**k" button repeatedly over 9000 times instead of smoothly loading a quicksave?

because it's more intense and scarier that way like in the movies?   Even facehuggers aren't successful everytime.   Otherwise Newt would have been caught without a struggle.  Ripley would not have been able to keep it away long enough to get help.

Quicksaves are more hand holding than a "f**k" button anyway.   The way it works now keeps the experience more consistent.

Emphasis on help. Getting a Facehugger away from you, while it doesn't have it's tail around your neck is one thing, but once it got it's tail around your neck, there hasn't been anyone that got it off without help.

I think it would be a great gameplay mechanic if you have to press a button to keep it away, but a teammate has to rush to you in order to get it off. Without anyone around, you should be a goner.

I got the idea from Uncharted 2. In co-op, there are those sneaky mercenaries that'll choke you from behind and the only way to get them off, is with the help of your partner.

You are going to be alone most of the time in SP so if the huggers are scripted to attack you during the time when another marine is close to you. If you are alone, you need your both hands to block it (lose your gun) then struggle, then throw it away, then get your gun back and shoot it. Interesting to watch in a movie but sux in game.

So Predator scans data on its prey. Humans is Ranged 2 an Melee 2. That doesn't seem right though when Aliens is Ranged 1 an Melee 2. So now the Marine is as much threat to the Pred in Melee as the Alien? lol Should be Ranged 0 an Melee 3 unless it considers the tail a gun. An Marine should be Melee 1 at best.

Also I swear this would be SUCH a good place for them to sneak in an over Nine THOUSAND reference. Maybe if scanning the corpse of a dead Predator after the self destruct is activated :P

I noticed the multi-colored glow for humans in the Alien campaign, too. I'm guessing it's to indicate whether they're armed/unarmed or civilian/military. They definitely weren't synthetics in the footage shown. I'm pretty certain this is how it works. If it is, it'd be an excellent method to easily prioritize your targets.

What I'm wondering about... how will it work in the predator's case. You'll have to push the button repeatedly as well? I mean, they are much stronger than humans.
