Been thinking a lot recently about adding roms to the site and I've uploaded most if not all Alien/Predator/AvP roms to the Downloads section.
Emulators:
Atari 2600 - Stella (http://www.emulator-zone.com/doc.php/a2600/stella.html)
Commodore 64 - Vice (http://www.emulator-zone.com/doc.php/computer/vice.html)

The Aliens Arcade Rom is only a partial one. It was the only Aliens Rom I could get to work on any emulator.
Keep all discussions about roms in this thread. If you have any problems with them etc.
Aliens vs Predator (arcade) isn't working or maybe I'm just doing it wrong.
I put the file into the MAME rom directory. Loaded Emu Loader. It says there's an error or missing file. Anything else I need to do?
EDIT: nevermind, downloaded a different one and it works now.
Wow, this is some feature. Hopefully I can d/l some shit, even though I don't really know what I'm doing... :)

On my friend's computer. Downloading all the necessary software sounds like some hassle, so I've stayed clear. But I'm willing to have a go looking at what you've made available.
Yeah, I pretty much only stick to GBA/SNES Roms but the arcade games are a real pain to get working properly. You need to have the right settings and all the right tools.
Right, so I've downloaded Mame and Emuloader, downloaded an arcade game, got plenty of files on my desktop, now what? I keep click Mame but all I get is this extract option in which I click 'Yes to all'...
I'm such a technotard. :-[
Install both programs so that they're in your Program Files directory.
Set EmuLoader up so that it knows where Mame is. Set your rom directory. Set your controls. Play the rom.

The one I uploaded is the European version. That's the only one I could get to work. The US/Japanese wouldn't work properly for me.
I've installed Mame and Emuloader (Opened up emuloader ok with mame) but that's as far as I can get. I downloaded A3 The Gun and AvP (Arcade) but clicking play doesn't really do the trick... What else have I got to do?
Set your Rom directories and mame directory. The program should look like this:

I don't think you'll be playing these games any time soon. :P
If you've never used an emulator before, then you'll never figure out how to use Mame.
You just need to set your folders correctly. Create a rom folder somewhere and put your roms in them.
Man I wanted to play the arcade game, but this crap is pissing me off.
I always preferred mame 32k 0.64
msn me if anyone wants to play online in avsp arcade game. I'll record our games for youtube ;D

No need. If people actually read the help pages/readmes in the emulator, they'd have figured it out by now. People don't need to use Emuloader. I just though it was the easiest frontend to use. You can use MAME on its own and do it through command line. Though that's a little more complicated.

I'm asking myself that too. I did that with the AvP Arcade one and it doesn't seem to work. Where do we place the roms so that this thing can find them? I checked the Mame rom paths and it says roms. I placed it there and it doesn't seem to do anything. I've been checking the readme files but haven't found anything yet.
Okay, here's my defintive guide to getting EmuLoader working.
1. Download MAME and Emuloader and install them.
2. Fire up Emuloader and set your MAME emulator directory.
(https://www.avpgalaxy.net/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fimg177.imageshack.us%2Fimg177%2F9996%2Femuloader01kj1.th.jpg&hash=f00f4c247905f9b476cb7c19f2530e07a63558b8) (http://img177.imageshack.us/my.php?image=emuloader01kj1.jpg)
3. Set your ROMS folder to wherever your roms are. Roms must be in a zip file.
(https://www.avpgalaxy.net/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fimg337.imageshack.us%2Fimg337%2F6937%2Femuloader02nq4.th.jpg&hash=b66f2c202a194d21610b36ab8cdb8c53b4afb157) (http://img337.imageshack.us/my.php?image=emuloader02nq4.jpg)
4. Create Games List >> MAME.

5. Notice The Blue Circles.

6. Double click and play the game.
(https://www.avpgalaxy.net/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fimg443.imageshack.us%2Fimg443%2F1490%2Femuloader05bi3.th.jpg&hash=e46b40628844a0d7ad8eb3184188ad2b4bbfc6d6) (http://img443.imageshack.us/my.php?image=emuloader05bi3.jpg)
Thanks for the tips, Darkness. Still doesn't work for me, but I'm guessing destiny must not want me to play this!
Okay, here's an easier way without Emuloader:
1. In the roms directory in the Mame folder, create a folder and unzip the files from the zip you downloaded to it.
3. Open Command Prompt from the Start Menu.
4. Navigate to your Mame directory: cd c:\program files\mame
5. Then type mame alien3 or whatever the name of your folder is. There ya go. The rom appears.
This is probably easier than Emuloader but most people won't have a clue what Command Prompt is or even how to use it.

I tried it and it works fine. "mame avsp".
I assume everybody who is having problems with roms is running Windows XP?

You need to give more information than that if you want help.
I hate to say it, but when I upped these roms to the site, I expected everybody to have at least played on an emulator before. If you haven't, then this isn't the best starting place.
Ok, well i need help downloading, MAME, and emulator, i jsut dont get what to do, can soemone help me get it downloaded right.
I'll explain how I got Kwaks to work with AVP. The downside to this emulator is that you can't play Aliens or Alien3. But if you need a quick AVP fix, then this does the job.
1/Just download Kwaks from: http://cps2shock.retrogames.com/download.html
2/Install, then move your zip file (un-extracted) for AVP into the folder: winkawaks157>roms>cps2
3/Rename the AVP zip file to avsp (saving you a step later on)
3/Open the Kwaks program, go to File>Load Game and select the European version of Alien vs. Predator listed as: CPS2/Alien vs Predator (Euro940520)/avsp
4/Click on it and it should boot up.The essential things to get are putting the zip file in the right folder and renaming it to: avsp
Be sure to check the controls under the Game tab. Hope it helps.
hello, i had tried everything to download the alien vs predator arcade game, but i still don´t get it, i love that game i used to play it when i was like 10. i just don´t get how to use the mame emulator, roms, and those kind of things. i don´t even understand what i have to download... :-\ maybe someone can help me??? please!? sorry for my english...
I merged your thread into this one. Just read through my guides in this topic.
I know your pain, I tried desperately but I couldn't get mame to work for the life of me, try kwaks, it only works for AVP but at least I got it to work. Follow the instructions I posted above and it should work (I'm still running on XP).
thanks fluxcap and darkness, i´m going to try one last time... :-\ when i´m back home, i´ll let you know what happened :o
yes!!!! finally!!! i make it work!!!! HAHAHAHAH MMMMUUUUAAAAAAJAJAJAJAJJA, kwaks was the solution ;D ;D thanks fluxcap :D :D
Game on good man, game on. lol. Enjoy, I sure as hell did. Glad I could help.
Dunno if it's just me, but the graphics on my emulated version of AvP for the Atari Jaguar has some pretty naff graphics problems. You can see the masking around anything that's not part of the environment, especially annoying on Aliens - Anyone else have this problem?

Okay, I did every step of that but it says I'm missing a file that's right inside the folder when I open it. I checked, and it's in the CPS2 folder, and in ZIP format. What did I do wrong?
;DI used MAME instead. The AVP arcade game shows up as a blue circle now.
???But then when I double click it opens the command line window, closes that, then opens emuloader up again (all in like half a second). Perhaps fate has conspired against the idea of me ever playing this game? Because seriously I've been trying to get this game to work for like three hours!!!
Did you name the zip file 'avsp'? And make sure your clicking on the European version of AVP in that master list. If that doesn't work, unfortunately I'm as puzzled as you ???
can´t load the atari lynx emu and the arcade games
did you fix that or can you giveme links to them?

I don't know what I had wrong. I re-downloaded everything and tried again. This time it worked. ???
Très bizarre.
??? I do not know how to down load the games
Go to the first page and read the first post by Darkness, he his links to all the games. Just click 'download' and thats that.

first you start the program then lick on file then load load game, you see allot of games just push the 'A' key on your keyboerd to find avp the EU version. now you must name your rar file you got from this site: "avsp" then put it in the folder where u extracted the program like this: roms/cps2/avsp.rar ;D
i'm new to the site but i've played rom games before. I downloaded AVP for the SNES but it isn't working on my comp. I have the little square that says ZSNES but it isn't appearing on the load screen any ideas??
pretty cool pack ... .. great stuff.. ;D

nice pack! i was needing these alien games!
anywa, in planet yautja site theres almost all pred games ever with emulators! just check it!
ull also find Tcs for some old games with the old games included....and a Mugen with all avp characters and other avp stuff.... www.planet-yautja.com its spanish...just go to descargas, and then emulators, the tcs are in the botom...(theres moe sutff there to dl...not sure if its legal but...)
i never heard of these arcade emulators (others that not mame), but in the site i indicated theres a avp arcade rom with a emulator that works....
i also used to have finalburn and avp arcade worked fine...
The AVP file in the pack is just incomplete/faulty. MAME is the superior emulator, and is easy enough to work with a proper rom file. I can upload the working AVP MAME rom if you guys want.
Also, there's a game that is not mentioned or in the rom pack, but it's expected since it was Japan only. Aliens, and it's an awesome game at that. Developed by Square (that's right, the famous company known for their Final Fantasy series). It was one of their earliest titles, and it's for the MSX only.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aliens_%28Square_computer_game%29
For now, you can grab it off of me. If you need help locating an emulator for the MSX platform, just ask and I will help you.

My computer is not letting me extract the AVP rom pack :'(,do i need to download something to extract it?
Edit:Nevermind,I got it to Work
I'd just like to report that the link for Handy(the Atari lynx emulator) is no longer working.
ok i think i may be able to help here.
For XP users, yes mame does sux but it can work.
Download and install the emulator there plenty o links on this forum.
Next rename;
arcadealiens to aliens.zip
arcadeavp to avsp.zip.
alien3arcade to alien3.zip
After that just put the unextracted zip files into the mame/roms directory and they'll load. I'm playing alien3 now. Mame won't read them unless they have those names. That's the big dilemma. ;)
Don't rename anything, actually. And you don't unzip any of the rom files. You drop them as is in the "rom" folder. This applies to every System Emulator. No exceptions.
anyone have avp2 pc?
Better question is who doesn't have it. I'm not sure if there's a rom for it though.
There isn't. It's still available for sale in some places.

Is it possible to download these onto my PSP? ???
No, the PSP doesn't support emulators. Unless there's someone who knows how to fool around with Homebrew, perhaps they can make them work that way.

Is anyone playing the Atari Jaguar rom on Project Tempest?
I have a couple questions, does the rom play fairly decent through project tempest for the whole campaign of all three species? (so far the beginning of the Marine campaign works well)
Also, is Project Tempest still being worked on as far as optimization, bugs, etc.? (I found a bug where the map overlay in the game is glitchy and won't turn off)
Alien 3 The Gun is missing eeprom-alien3.bin... Thats all MAME says...
I don't want to be a party pooper here, but has anyone thought of the legal issues hosting those ROMs?
I mean, they are still copyrighted, and there are plenty of ROM hosting sites that has disappeared after getting cease & exist letters.
I guess we'll worry about that if/when it happens.

Everytime I try to use any arcade game with mame i get an error message saying I'm missing one or more Rom or Chd images? Any Ideas?
You probably figured this by now but, i guess, this can help everyone else.
The actual full game is the (eu) European version, so you have to make sure to hit THAT version when loading the game if you haven't edited the list to only show the ROMs that you have. If you hit the American, Japanese, Asia version WITHOUT downloading the extra files those need to run the game isnt going to work.
Dude, don't double post.
Hay im really dumb when it comes to this stuff but if you download the AvPGalaxy ROM Pack, do you need to download anything else to play the games in the ROM pack?
I'm guessin you need to download the emulaters too but what files do you need to move around?
Just the emulators.
K thanks Doom, will i need to download each emulator or will the Emuloader Darkness gave a link to cover each ROM.
Just the ROMs. You'll need to find the emulators separately.
K thanks Doom, I downloaded A JAG emulator AVP JAG ROM from the topic i got linked(http://www.avpgalaxy.net/forum/index.php?topic=31263.0) but i have no clue what to do from their can you help me out a lil more. Please and thanks. I really am bad at this :-[.
Do the Gameboy ROMs also work with Gameboy Colour emulators?
Most of the time they will, yes.

Hot damn... i'll be getting all of that.
Just found this thread. Do you mean to say that one can download and play all these games on the computer? Is there a way to run these through a game console?
These are ROMs, so naturally they're only for PC; you need to run them through an emulator (like an NES emulator, Atari emulator, etc.). There are ways to hook up console controllers to your computer, though. A quick Google search should probably tell you everything you need.

Unfortunately the links in the start of the thread are all broken now. A lot of the roms can be found at emuparadise.me, even the bigger PS2 ones.
Has anyone out there been able to get Avp arcade to run on the latest version of Mame? I have the required files, but the application is telling me its missing a "key file". I looked into it a bit, and apparently the latest version of MAME makes certain games that run on the CPS2 engine (like AVP) now require an updated key file to run. If I can't get this to work, what is my best bet for playing Avp? I appreciate any advice.
I don't know, but it is available on the Capcom Home Arcade Plug-And-Play Device now. Amongst other videogames.
It runs all fine (MAME 0.211). You just need an updated version of rom sets, but it is still illegal if you do not own a genuine AvP arcade board with matching up roms.
Thank you for the info.
PSA:
A site called The Collection Chamber is releasing these pre-packaged installers for emulated games. They have included Alien Trilogy, Alien Resurrection, and Aliens Comic Book Adventure so far.
https://collectionchamber.blogspot.com/ (https://collectionchamber.blogspot.com/)
These are really nice if you're not that computer savvy. You merely install these and click to run, that's literally it.
For Alien Trilogy, you might have to tune the game up in the DOSBox CONF file a bit, but the amount of time it takes to do that probably depends on how obsessive you are (my cycles are set at 95000 for what it's worth).
Resurrection runs like a dream so far, and works with my Xbox One controller.
I recommend playing Alien Trilogy on a PS emulator, it works much better than the DOS version, including better graphics and music.
And none of the stupid one-liners either.
