The Old One

In terms of the Alien itself, everything apart from the already mentioned, in terms of other information, everything apart from the questionable status of LV-223 and G-435.

Just got the word back, according to Andrew E. C. Gaska, Alien The RPG is part of continuity and canon.

Does he represent Fox?

Hey man Randy Pitchford said his videogame was canon so it must be true.

Local Trouble

I have no retort for that.  :-\

He's a "Franchise Consultant" for 20th Century Fox on the Alien, Predator and Planet of the Apes properties. I assume he's still working for them after the takeover. I think the Corporal had a podcast with him a couple years back.

So to answer Local's question, "yes he does." :P

I was taking the RPG as "canon" regardless of what any "official" line said, but I'm not surprised that the RPG is "officially canon". If it's anything like how Lucasfilm treated the old Star Wars RPGs, any specific named details and the broad strokes of pre-structured narrative campaigns were "canon", and anything else (specific actions taken by players, GM-created NPCs outside of pre-fabricated NPCs, specific details about player characters) were not.

Local Trouble

What's questionable about LV-223 now?

FI doesn't like that it's a verdant and biologically-plentiful cornucopia of black goo mutated creatures in the wake of 'Prometheus'.

Immortan Jonesy

What would be the canon to end all canons? I mean something so perfect that would make hyper-critical people stop and stare in awe and amazement.

It already exists, and it is me.

It's really nothing to do with my likes and dislikes, because it's not my statement, I'm just the messenger.
So he was the one saying LV-223's status was "questionable"? Did he elaborate on that?

The Old One

Subject to change, just like other aspects already mentioned, basically also the reason why the planet's "main description" describes it just as we viewed it in Prometheus, but then the "rumor control" section contradicts it and parts of the Alien section further on.
