Remember the original Alien was played by two different actors.

People make such a big deal about the height. When you're talking about a variation of a couple inches, four or five at the most, you aren't going to notice when they film the actors and predators from the right angles. We're going to get big Predators.

If I'm not mistaken, Shane also said they would bring a sense of mystery back to the Predator. Chances are we won't see him (them?) front and center through most of the film anyway.

The movie has the potential to become CGI heavy. Might be saving it for post production.

Now, there are two options, they have a practical suit, that will be filmed from the waist up, or, he's performing in a motion capture suit for the upgrade to be CGI.
