Yeah, lots of things he mentioned I didn't even think about, but I definitely share almost identical feelings. Like we have all the right ingredients but not the recipe.

Quote from: OpenMaw on Sep 14, 2024, 11:27:36 AMThere are people in the community of the belief that Scott hates the queen. Hinting at there being an egg layer, which if we are to believe the continuity of Prometheus and Covenant - were created from scratch through mad science and not laid, then this would be the first hint at the opposite being true. - againt the naysayer's point.
I'm still not sure how that's relevant. Not sure what's being miscommunicated here, but suffice it to say Scott could hypothetically be fine with the idea of an alien laying eggs, while the naysayers could still be correct that he dislikes Cameron's Queen. It's all just layers of hearsay and nonsense without sourced quotes; no need to "disprove" anything through equally spurious means ("Alvarez included an egg-laying alien, therefore Scott does not hate the Queen" -- just what?).

An ovipositor is a female organ, good sir! What you are referring to is a cock, willy, johnson, penis, or whatever nomenclature you prefer; its root anchored to the base of the pelvis, perpetually erect, and resulting in the Newborn f**king itself 24-7.

Even for a Frenchman, it was too much.

I didn't say it was anything but hearsay. I was simply ruminating the potential that it could suggest that and put that particular strain of naysaying to bed.

(I have never read anything that indicates Scott disliked what Cameron did. The fact they nearly collaborated on a new film at one point suggests to me the exact opposite.)

Yes! because Scott is a producer, and it is clear as day his fingerprints/inputs are all over the creative tail end of Romulus. If he did indeed have a problem with J.C.'s take, he wouldn't include elements that strongly hint at its existence. He'd push to go in the opposite direction.

Don't blame me. It was their logic. :)

Who is "their"?

Like, this is the first time I've seen the Newborn's dick get called an egg deposition organ. And, as you were trying to point out its hermaphroditism, you would not want to refer to two sets of female-specific organs, for obvious reasons.

Great pod. Agree with @Corporal Hicks overall views on this one. In fact it got me thinking that the last time I had an equally enjoyable experience watching an Alien film in the cinema was 1986 (Aliens). The others Alien 3 (Bitterly angry), Alien Resurrection (disappointed), Prometheus (on the fence), Covenant (pissed off).
