Thats (by some accounts) from an omitted scene where they trapped alien in the airlock (like they planned in TC)

That pic of the Alien outside the Airlock isnt from the unfilmed Airlock sequence. (scan from the Warran Alien magazine cover)  Its a shot of the Alien outside the shuttle entrance during the scene where Ripley encounters the Alien in a sort of strange curled up position towards the end of the film.

Regarding Kane's burial shroud, i tried to get an answer about it on another site but was told  it was a question for Martin Bower.  So far ive not had no responce.

Yeah e-mailed nightfall over at Alien Legend about it years ago, he said he just uses it as a reference to the unfilmed scene.
