I think it may be a good idea to have one centralized topic for bugs and issues.
I've just started the game on the X Box One. I woke from cryo-sleep and found that I can see through walls!
(I'm posting from my phone so hopefully the attached image appears.)
u l33t haxor!
Weird one, Never encountered that. You installed the patch?
Yeah. I'm deleting and reinstalling the whole thing again to see if it the issue continues. It's also 1 AM so I don't know if I can wait it out.
After reinstalling everything it seems to work fine now.
Playing on Xbox One and had a few already.
Launched the game when it had partially installed and also got the see through walls aboard the Torrens.
Let the game fully install and then restarted and that solved that.
Next up when i was to head to the bridge for a briefing no one was talking on arrival and had to reload.
And finally so far, after taking a short break my save wouldn't load when I resumed the game from the dashboard so had to completely restart the game.
Playing on PC. The only main bug/issue I've hit is that for some reason AA doesn't seem to be working very well. There's still quite a few jaggies regardless of settings. Forcing it through Nvidia control panel doesn't seem to do anything either.
When I talked to Taylor before Samuels, once we were all called to the bridge he never showed up and the dialogue didn't start. Had to reload.

Maybe it's just a console thing, dunno.
I'm finding the game crashes sometimes when I'm loading after death.

I noticed the cutscenes are stuttering for me, same with my friend who's on PS4 too. I noticed some frame rate drops when opening doors to new rooms.
Nothing to ruin the experience, but I'm only a few hours into it.
Yeah the stuttering for the cutscenes is really pissing me off. For example the one when entering the station and all the action that is going on is ruined by it... Nothing a patch can't fix. Other than that I'm loving this game.
Idk if you would call it a bug, but ill see slime dripping from a vent, walk around it to a door and the alien is suddenly at the door.. really starting to piss me off
Got a weird one when playing it via remote play in my vita. Can't seem to find the crouch button. Anyone got any ideas?
Had some sort of debris clipping through a room once. The other one that I've noticed is that sometimes there won't be any sound from the alien when it kills you.

Yeah, I noticed that too. That's the only big issue I've had so far, though.
Does anyone NOT have a problem with the cutscenes stuttering on PS4? It's really distracting from the experience. I'm just wondering if we could compare settings to see if there is some setting that might resolve the problem.

It doesn't bother me too much, and I'm sure there will be a patch shortly to fix that.
Im on Xbox One and I haven't had any issues. frame rate is fine during gameplay and cutscenes.
PC cutscenes are framelocked to sync with audio, PS4 probably has the same issues.
PC: Items acquired during a reload will appear in space where you picked them up and rotate as if still attached to you, until you actually bring out the view model on screen, at which point it resets itself to your position.
Alien will still occasionally lose waypointing near vents, and be unable to move, until it teleports to the nearest pathing node.
Bugs I've found so far (about 3/4 the way through the game on PS4)
- Laggy cutscenes :-(
- I've been stuck on invisible objects once
- Human enemies in mid conversation once dropped dead on the spot, and then 15 seconds later strung back to life
- Once entered a room to find a pistol suspended in mid air - unable to pick up or interact with it
- Have hit invisible walls in doorways multiple times, I think this has something to do with loading an area, typically I could get though after a while
- Have used the flamethrower at the last second to stop an alien attack and it used 0 ammo, but still scared him off (bonus :-))
That's all I can think of for now. Out of all of them it's the laggy cutscenes which bother me the most, the others just need ironing out. Overall hasn't really impacted my experience too much.
copy paste from my post on the official alien isolation forum:
First congratulations to the developers for making a proper game that Alien franchise really deserves, but there are some bugs that need to be isolated and dealt with. Bought Alien Isolation with great excitement yesterday and played three hours straight on hard mode. Love the game, but there are numerous issues that have made the experience slightly frustrating. Was originally going to wait till i manage to buy a ps4, but i got it for ps3 instead, since i read reports that the ps3 version looks decent enough. Now i regret my desicion. Here are some of the bugs i have had the unfortunate pleasure to experience:
On mission two i got glued to the luggage carousel while crouching to get through. Nothing worked so i loaded the previous save game to get out of the sticky situation.
On mission two the game froze during load game and i had to restart the ps3. I have only experienced similar issue with one game (Aliens: Colonial Marines), that sad game managed to freeze during main menu.
On second mission i encountered the messiest bug i have ever seen on a console. For some reason the game failed to trigger a cutscene after disabling the security lockdown (that bit where the player hides below the table and sees the alien second time). So nothing happened and i went back to the spacious room where the four humans are looking for the player. The alien should now started a killing spree clearing the room, but instead triggered the cutscene animations that were supposed to happen before. The game goes all haywire and starts clipping through the environments, the four people shouting, shooting and screaming and the alien whips out it's tail while i am stuck in a wall. After the cutscene animations ended i was completely clipping out of the sevastopol in the middle of of the space unable to move and then the alien killed me. This anomaly happened on the fourth try i think. But every time the alien starts killing those people, the frame rate starts to hiccup badly!
Then there are minor things like main cutscenes stuttering heavily, sometimes the vents don't open and the occasional clipping and strange physics behaviour.
i had to write this post twice, because mozilla firefox crashed haha
Pc version: guy killed with the wrench in a doorway dissapeared after door was closed. Cannot pick up dead guys pistol.
And one major bug of this game: I'm afraid to play it :)
on PS3 i often saw guns in the air just floating, heavy frame rate drops though they are very rare. i dunno if its a bug but rather bad decision, there is a climbing "QTE" part where you can die easily if u dont pay attention YET there isnt any before and after. so what was the point?! and the textures dissapeared once in survivor mode for a few secs
I've had the floating gun and the briefing fail to begin at the start, otherwise - touch wood - everything seems ok.
The floating guns are not a bug. This is supposed to occur after you switch off the Sevastopol's artificial gravity generators.
I've redeemed a code for Last Survivor DLC on Xbox One yesterday, it showed me that I was successful in it, but I don't see the DLC within the game. On the other hand Crew Expendable works fine.
I had this happen unfortunately.

Don't know if it was a bug or the devs just thinking the AI would never need to aim down.
Got trapped under a table and the Torrens walls were see through. The latter when I tried to play the game as it was installing. Xbox One.
Besides that, nothing.

You really like to bitch about the A.I., don't you? :D
Anyways, as the last post in that thread says: it doesn't affect the difficulty in any way.
QuoteJust got confirmation from our Lead AI programmer that this has no effect on the difficulty. No difficulty setting modifies (or even mofisies!) the value, so it has no bearing on anything.
Don't mind him, he just likes to complain about everything after about 2002. :P
Of course the lead programmer will say something like that  If he admits his mistake they will fire him (most likely).
Besides, I don't think I complained about Assassin's Creed 4 or Insurgency or the new Carmageddon or Torchlight 2 or Company of Heroes or Metro Last Light and many other games.
I doubt he would be fired for a single spelling error. Anyways, it doesn't matter if he misspelled the word as long as he misspells it everywhere else as well.

Why would they fire him over a simple mistake? And why would he lie? Come next patch and some people will likely check to see if the spelling has been corrected and if it has been, then call CA out for lying.

Anybody with the Xbox 360 version notice a screen burn type effect where the UI on screen displays/prompts appear? Its like dark shaded rectangles overlaying these areas. Watching those, it does makes the game look buggy and had very poor QA testing. I never experienced them, well except for the disappearing floors in one area.

Definitely not the TV as this only occurs during A:I gameplay. Its an issue with the the UI on screen display (context sensitive/item prompts, health bar etc), the screen burn will temporarily vanish if I open the radial menu but return when I close the menu. No idea whats caused it. Another glitch to be fixed....
From everything I've seen so far it appears that console version of the game has all the glitches mantioned above. On my PC none of them happened. Including choppy cut-scenes, invisible walls, not working scripts and so on. Looking at it all I'm glad I hate consoles :)

I know, I am wondering how the compiler didn't alarmed for such obvious mistake. Some users in the Steam forums reported major difference in the xeno behavior after using the fixed file. Mostly making the xeno less aggressive. Personally I haven't tried the fix yet, so I can't say if its making any difference.
Some minor bugs:
-You cant use the stun baton against friendly working joes (but you can use other weapons).
-Floating weapons (only if you load a saved game)
-Some NPC cant see flares
-Bad pathfinding for npc
-Sometimes, using fire or being near it, can make amanda's body burn forever (without damage)
-Dialoges out of context during a fight
Minor bugs, can be fixed with a later patch
flares never worked for me as distraction actually
They work well for me almost everytime...but, when the bug "take control" of my flares...no matter how many of them i use...all are auseless ;D

Never used them against the Alien but used them a few times against the Joes and humans.
Ran across a pretty frustrating issue last night. Went to load my most current save and it would go to a black screen and crash every time it started to load. Yet, when I loaded a previous save it worked fine. Then, I got the idea to try loading that save from in the game itself instead of from the start menu...Loaded up perfectly fine.
It's really odd that there are so many bugs mentioned and I haven't encountered any in game yet and I'm on mission 10.

Lot of bugs seem to be related to saved game files...when i suffer one, if i reload the current save...the bug its gone
The only bug I remember seeing is the floating guns bug. Other than that, I had completely bug free experience.
Another one: weird physics on some objets, like books, chairs, etc...they use to float, jump, or move without interaction by the player
Only issue I ran into was sometimes not being able to bring up my MT. i would need to swing my hammer first before it would let me.
That and the floating weapon thing Xhan posted about. Seems to only happen to the bolt gun.
Well so far the main bugs I've had are lagging in cutscenes and gameplay. I really hope they work on a patch for this because it actually kind of takes away some of the horror from the game. It's not really that scary when you hear the Alien crawling through the ducts and then as soon as you hear the thump sound of it landing right next to you, the damn game starts lagging for a couple of seconds. At that point whatever fear you may have had becomes quickly replaced with rage.
Rain into an issue once where my motion tracker floated after a save was reloaded. Has never happened since though
Crew Expendable has a floating glass near one of the spacesuit lockers every time I play. If I walk into it, it falls. I'm treating it as a metaphor for life.
Anyone else a little concerned that in CA's Alien:Isolation forums bugs are being reported, but no answers or information is being given about upcoming fixes or a simple "we are working on it." The floating objects, stuttering video, No AA and crashing to name a few have no responses by CA. I find this concerning being that communication with your customers should be a priority when the errors are being experienced in large groups. But alas, nothing...
I'm just concerned since Gearbox did the same thing with A:CM and CA did the same thing with Rome II until the gaming media got a hold of it.
Here's keeping our collective fingers crossed.
Mate, five days after lunch...keep calm. Im sure we will get another fix before the end if this month
Hey,
I had a few crash regarding transparent materials such as windows with an index of refraction.
Whenever I stand too close to them and put the tracker on, the mix of the refraction and the blur depth of field crash the game.
Cya.
Had a permanent black screen with access to my radial dial items. Reset the Xbox One, problem solved. No lost progress.
Heres a bit of logic before you start shtting a storm over what are by definition glitches.
Does the Glitch impede on the overall gameplay and satisfaction of overcoming all aspects that the game provides?
A glass floating. Stuck audio repeating but eventually stops.

I had a really cool bug in crew expendable, my motion tracker was flipping out and creating two blips whenever the alien showed up. At first I thought it was a feature, but it hasn't happened since that first time I played it. Got a video of it.

No, no one is "shitting a storm" whatever that means. Yes, the immersion is ruined, the very thing the game is built on. I would like my PC version to not look like a poor console port when it comes to edges being reflected on. I agree.

From the way it looks on those forums for the official game site it looks like the developers are more quick to try and ban people and remove threads asking about the issues than they are to actually address people about the issues and reassure them that they will be working on it.

This isn't really new behavior from them.
The best you can do is simply note the bug in as neutral a stance as is possible, and only check on the thread if you can repeat it or cause to happen on demand.

Wow, that speaks volumes.
It is very sad that this is expected behavior and that customers should have a "duck and weave" approach to get support for the software they purchased. How far customer service has fallen; and we live with it? Just..wow..and why?
My friend said the same thing BTW. His quote: "If it's not a Total War title, do not expect any communication or assumption of responsibility to the customer from Creative Assembly."
Just have some patience for now. The game has been out for barely a week and they have 5 DLCs in the making. They most likely will try to tie up every DLC with a fixes + DLC support patch. The first DLC comes out in about two weeks so they can't ignore (and probably aren't doing so) these issues for much longer.

I agree with Taxemic, I will also wait a little to finish since I've experienced some pretty bad bugs myself. On a side note, what a great time to drop in more save points.. ;) I kid.
Flexserve out.
Not entirely certain if this is a true "bug" or not, but, I've been noticing that the motion tracker makes no noise at all. Perhaps it's meant to be that way, though, I thought it was supposed to beep and that the sound of it can alert the Alien to your presence.
Also ran into an interesting glitch in the medlabs:
Spoiler
Upon returning to the Doctor the dialogue repeated itself twice, and upon going downstairs where Kuhlman is killed by the Alien is when things got reeeeally interesting: The Doctor accessed the elevator then just stood there, the door opened, the Alien stepped into the room then left with Kuhlman remaining frozen at the window....Suddenly he made a noise and blood went everywhere, but remained completely frozen aside from blood dripping.
I reloaded the save and everything was fine then, but, damn was that strange...amusing, but strange.

Lol you just reminded me - I had the dialogue twice the first time I did it. Not the other issues though.
Literally the only issue I experienced during the campaign play through was that several times, the working joes would be playing with their IPAD things, they'd suddenly walk off and their pads would just be left floating in air.
But having completed the game, I reloaded after returning from the Anesidora in a bid to explore the station and collect the remaining computer logs. I returned to medical and went to the ambulance bay and through door that had been previously inaccessible. Inside was a small shuttle bay identical to the one you use to fly out to the Anesidora, except the shuttle here was gone. But I was still given the prompt to sit down and taxi out which I did, upon which Amanda sat down onto thin air and slowly floated out into space. The game then loaded a new section only to end up with a blank screen, though I could still bring up my inventory. Weird.
I didn't encounter a lot bugs. The bugs I encountered, are pretty minor, not major. So far, no major bugs/issues spotted.
1. Try do a small explosion yourself and your camera will be moved backward, finally showing Amanda's model character. Only hands and legs.
2. Samuels kills a synthetic. Hours later, returning back to the location and I see the synthetic "alive". He does animation such as idle, scratching head, like normal but you cant attack him and he will not respond/attack, no matter what, he is standing there, "alive" but ignores the environment. Was demonic scare for me...
So far, no bugs prevented me playing.
Running around for 30 minutes trying to figure out what I was doing wrong after I was told to escape through Seegson comms only to find out the elevators just supposed to be open. I guess I'm starting over?
Ive had this happen. I hit the Alien with the flamethrower then it goes into a vent. The Alien then clips/falls through the ceiling while still on fire. The Alien seems to be able to catch me while it is clipping through the air and floor.
I caught the alien getting stuck in between a wall. I didn't go out and see it for fear of death, but his tail was going nuts and he was stuck in the same spot, according to my tracker.

Ive had this happen. I hit the Alien with the flamethrower then it goes into a vent. The Alien then clips/falls through the ceiling while still on fire. The Alien seems to be able to catch me while it is clipping through the air and floor.
Something like this? I recorded this on my PS4. I think the Alien breaks the space time continuum or something. It made me laugh.

I just completed it on PS4. I didn't have any major issues; just the choppy cinematics, an android that just stood there on a later mission (his eye-lights were 'on') and he didn't register I was there or try to kill me, and an alien that got stuck in a door for two minutes, after which the animation started going again and he did run away from my flamethrower.
I've had the alien grab me when I was in a vent...from the other side of the wall. It came through the wall. I also had the alien get stuck on a bed after the morgue. It charged at me and just ran into the bed. It's running animation continued, but I had to walk up to it and hit it for it to unglitch. It was pretty funny.
Rewire boxes seem increasingly broken, trying to go through the major Synthetic areas and almost every box since the airlock sequence has frozen me. Only so many reloads I can do before I just alt+f4.
I haven't had that issue.
The game always seems to become unresponsive when leaving Survivor mode. I beat the mode, then continue back to the menu, but it hangs indefinitely during that load to the main menu.

To all nvidia graphic cards users: some people (me included) got problems after installing newest drivers. Game crashes when you leave current level you're on. After I rolled back to previous drivers everything is back to normal.

Oh yeah that might help. I was playing PC. Maybe related to what Sagit posted?
Do you have an Nvidia card? That could definitely be the problem, unless you haven't updated your drivers yet.

Yeah I have a nvidia GTX 460 v2. Going to see if I can rollback to my previous drivers.
Edit: rollback fixed it.
Aaaand that's why I don't play on PC. Although my PS3 version crashed once, I encountered the "always on fire" bug, and a couple of floating objects - but at least I didn't have to screw with my console to get it working.
The most annoying bug I found was being killed by an Alien while in airducts... and the Alien was in the corridor. He just clipped through the wall and headbit me. Happened only once but it pissed me off as I was near the end of a level.

Rolling back my drivers wasn't that hard. Took 1 minute. Other than this nvidia issue I've had no major problems with the PC version.

And this is why you people are called peasants.
Well, I prefer to be called a peasant than to be the one who insults other people because they chose a different platform.
Let's calm down a bit everyone. We always end up having to ban the whole PC vs. Consoles debate from the game boards so let's not repeat that.
I'm not sure if it's a bug or an intentional thing that can be exploited, but if you are full of a craftable item, you can still bring up the craft screen for it, and "store" crafting parts, meaning you can basically add 1 to your limit of every craftable item, and just store it un-crafted, allowing you to get more craft parts.

No I saw this as a tip on the loading screen. Always did it from that point onwards.
me and my friend had not bugs or issues with the game at all.

Anyway...
Sick of running into space downstairs on Survivor mode. I'm sure I could be 1st place if this didn't happen the majority of the time.

i have no bugs and issues in my game it works just fine.
Does this count as the "double dialog bug" people have been talking about? Lol, jk
So I'm replaying on Hard - haven't had the time to do it yet - and on the first mission the doors to Taylor are locked and I can't get past talking to Samuel...
Anyone else ran into this?
Nevermind - I just started a new game and it was fine.
CH,
I haven't seen that, but I remember on PS4 when playing with my friend, when the captain calls you to the front of the ship Samuels didn't do anything. Just kind of was frozen. Reloading the last save fixed the problem.
Something I noticed on PC today, and maybe this is just a limitation of the FOV, but when FOV is set to anything higher than 55 I'm unable to see Ripley's body when looking down. Return FOV to 55 or below and it's fine.

That's not a bug, they just made it do that because at higher FOV, if Ripley's body was rendered, it would look squiffy.

Ah well. 55 FOV was better than the 45 I had it on my first playthrough. :P
Playing again, I've run into another issue, which is really annoying. Sometimes I can't exit the rewiring panels. It's almost as if the animation for opening them never finishes. I can move some of the UI elements on the panel, but can't select anything. Trying to quit out doesn't do anything, and even enemies in the area can no longer see me.
The game never updated on my Xbox One....anyone have the same issue?
There's one that just came to mind, there was an occasion where a downed enemy had dropped their weapon but after leaving that section I could still see a weird black silhouette of where the weapon was. Not really an issue...just weird.
First time I played it, I only across one bug which was a facehugger that could open doors and somehow pull me to it which then killed me.
On my current playthrough, I got stuck in the beginning of the game because Nina Taylor wasn't moving her butt to meet up with everyone on the bridge, had to load a previous save to solve it.
Only issue I'm seeing so far is after using the Bolt gun a frozen bolt gun will be copied and float statically in the location it was fired.
Happened to me a couple pf times too. Not sure if it is bolt gun only though.
I had the same problems when I woke up everything was black and I can go through walls I really wanted to play my game.

I have floating pistol EVERY play through on 3 different machines as well. The elevator mission the pistol floats in front of the door. (This shot NOT DSR'd )
DSR (if you have powerful Nvidia Card fixes the missing AA problem): My GTX 980 on 4x DSR 30% edge smoothing, now it doesn't look like it's on Xbox.

I don't like that CA ditched the project without even fixing these issues.
I love this game, but the glitches are my biggest problem with it. I wonder if Creative Assembly decided not to patch the bugs themselves or SEGA would not fund work on another patch. The floating object bug happens with all sorts of objects you use. I have seen floating motion trackers, health packs, and bolt guns. I have also seen a console below the floor once while playing on the Medical Deck. A nearly game breaking bug I have encountered is the inability to enter or exit vents. This makes playing a level more difficult or even impossible because the climb in prompt does not appear or maybe the game believes there is still an obstruction such as panel covering the vent hole.
This is my first post on the forums, so hello everyone.
Alien Isolation is an awesome game, I've played it on PC with an NVIDIA card and as far as I remember I had my fair share of BUGs. Most of them I've managed to ditch with the help of others, therefore I've thought to write a little tutorial about it. Now, as I've understood the game has some issues with some NVIDIA drivers so I don't know how things are on other system configurations, although in my personal opinion they seam to be more related to defective game porting than other reasons. Anyways I hope this helps.
Here are the BUGs I've encountered and how I've dealt with them so I could eventually finish the game:
1. The most annoying and persisting BUG was the loading game problem. This one consisted in a black screen that freezes the game after you load it from in-game menu. To quickly get pass it press ALT+TAB and a window with a "close the application" option should pop out. To minimize this one you can manually load the game from the main menu instead choosing the "Continue Game" option. Loading the game this way, from the very beginning should seriously diminish the crashes experienced while loading a save from in-game. I've also understood that this specific BUG can actually be removed if you "Turn Off" some video settings like "Depth Of Field" for example or rename your saves (search more on internet for this last fix).
2. Getting a locked door while you try to meet Taylor in the first mission. To pass this one, just restart the game as it's the first mission and go straight to Taylor, in your undies ;), without doing anything else, like getting dressed ;D. After this a) get dressed, b) meet with the android (Samuels I believe), c) go to the meeting on the deck Do it in this order and it should be alright.
3. Getting a black loading screen after exiting the aliens nest in the mission that involves starting the two reactors. To get passed this one, turn all the video settings to Off or their minimal settings. Load the game on minimal video settings, get to the elevator that exits the nest (the 2 reactors chamber) and the permanent black loading screen shouldn't be a problem anymore. Save the game and exit to main menu. Change the video settings back to your preferred values and load it once again.
4. In the "A Way For The Torrens To Dock " mission while transiting from "Seegson Communications" to "Solomons Habitation Tower" BUG. This one is the most discouraging as it gives you the feeling to abandon the game and it's also near the ending as far as I remember. Just by looking at the map while you're in Seegson Communications you can spot it as a BUG, as the transit elevator that leads to Solomons Habitation Tower is marked with a thin edged white circle bordered by an outer lined dashed circle. This marker is meant to indicate a search area rather than an objective, that's represented through a thick green circle with a pulsating white outer layer. So when you get to Solomons Habitation Tower, on the map pops out an objective that basically says you have to go back to Seegson Communications as you didn't actually find anything according to the search marker (even if there's nothing to be found, it's just misplaced markers) so it sends you back to find "nothing whatsoever" so you could advance further.
The solution for this one is no big deal. As you get to Solomons Habitation Tower the first time, there's a saving console in front of you just as you exit the elevator and a guard (or something) nearby that warns you about the fact you should leave so he won't shoot you. In this area there are three doors: two on the left just as you exit the elevator and another one on the right side of the saving console. First deal with the guard that threatens you quietly (using the stun thingy) so you won't attract the alien menace and open the furthest door from your left (as you exit the elevator) with an Ion Torch. In that room on a computer you'll find a code that's needed to open the door that's basically near the one you just opened using the torch. Enter the second room with the code you've just got, and in there you should find a computer that should open the door from the right side of the saving console as you exit the elevator (the one with a lever). Except the fact that the first time you're in Solomons Habitation Tower while doing the "A Way For The Torrens To Dock" it doesn't, so don't even go for that specific door, the one with the lever. What you have to do is going back to the elevator and go back to Seegson Communications. Just as you reach Seegson comunications use the elevator once again and go back Solomons Habitation Tower. You will notice that the guard you've killed on your first pass is miraculously respawned and if you look at the map you'll see the are you're in is marked with a searching circle and the marker that sends you back to Seegson comunications is no more. Ditch that guard once again, quietly of course, go for the door you've opened with the code and interact with the computer from that room once again. After this you can open the door with the lever and advance further.
Schematic Recap:
While in Seegson comunications >> take elevator to Solomons Habitation Tower >> open the door with the ion torch and take the code from the computer that's in that room >> open the door nearby with the code you've just obtained >> interact with the computer from that room >> take elevator back to Seegson comunication >> just so you can use the elevator once again to get back to Solomons Habitation Tower >> go in the room you've opened with the code and interact with the computer from the room for the second time >> open the door with a lever from the right side of the saving console, as you exit the elevator, so you could advance further.
SAVE AS MUCH AS YOU CAN.
I hope this helped. Despite its flaws Alien Isolation is an amazing game so don't discredit it to quickly.
Hi everyone, First things first, the game is beautiful, even when it breaks I still somehow can't hate it.
So I have it on xbox 360, the loading screens freeze a lot, forcing me to restart, every now and then throughout the campaign except on the engineering deck, it took me months to get past with all the freezes.
Survival usually works every time, that is until I installed the DLC I have, while the DLC works more or less fine, it can sometimes take more than 10 restarts to get it going.
Do any of you xbox 360 users have the same problem? Does anyone have any ideas on how I could fix this?

Do you have the game disc installed onto the hard drive?
I have the game on both the 360 and PS4. The 360 version requires the installation disc so it can play on the actual game disc. I normally burn all of my 360 games to the hard drive which cuts down on console noise and extends the optical drives lifespan. However , playing certain games with the disc installed can actually cause slowdown and freezing issues and Alien Isolation seems to be one of those games. I uninstalled the game disc and it seemed to help.
Thanks, I'll give that a try tomorrow, I have a day off. :)
Hello everyone. I have the game on steam, I played and beated it back on 2015.
I tried to play it this year, and over the last months it haven't been working, either the game opens the game window, then it crashes straight away, saying: "ai.exe stopped working", or it doesn't even open, when I click on play, next to its name on the steam library, it shows "running" then "syncing", then it crashes. I tried some online solutions as others also had this issue but it didn't work on my case. Some said it had to do with windows 10 updates, drivers, don't know what is causing this. I played the game with no problems in 2015.
I already tried verifying game files, running ai.exe as administrator, running ai.exe on compatibility mode on both windows 7 and 8.
Any help would be appreciated.
But have you tried the age old...uninstall and reinstall?

Yes of course, I already unistalled and reinstalled in 3 different places in my computer, disc C(where steam app is instaled) and the other steam libraries on disc D and my external hd. Always the same result.
EDIT:
Ok... almost the same result, when I install on disc C the game opens the game window, then it crashes straight away, saying: "ai.exe stopped working", the game starts then crashes.
When I install on disc D or my external hd it doesn't even open, when I click on play, next to its name on the steam library, it shows "running" then "syncing", then it crashes, the game window doesn't even appear. The game doesn't start.
I have like 80 games on steam, and this is the only one with this issue.

Thanks for the try, I have seen that thread, there are many like that on steam, so far nothing works.
I installed the game on my old laptop, the game doesn`t close itself, but the laptop is too weak to run this game. But still it doesn`t crash, I believe it must be due to something related to the windows 10`s updates or its apps/microsoft/services/whatever, that's the main thing that changed in my pc since 2015, when the game worked fine. I seem a lot of reports of games having issues due to windows 10, I had a issue with gears of war 4 on it a while back but I solved it.
There have been a rise on threads regarding this alien isolation issue since 2017, by both new people that bought it and others that played the game before and started crashing recently.
Nothing major i can remember from the PS3 playthrough..
PS4 wise i had a body dissappear early on,after taking out a human male character, so couldn't search it
Encountered a PDA just floating, well fixed,in mid air, but could search that.
Nothing Fallout 3 or 4 level in this game,bugs wise,thankfully :-))
I experienced the exact PDA glitch on Console but nowhere on PC.
Yes, that floating objects bug is something I ran into as well on a handful of occasions. It's definitely related to whatever weapon/item you're holding when entering the area. One time I ran into a floating motion tracker, and switching on mine also turned on the floating one. Very weird indeed.
Considering the game is coming out on the Switch sometime this year, could another patch for PC be a (remote) possibility? I'm sure CA is aware of whatever bugs the game has and fixed those for the upcoming release.
I'm not sure it's deemed important enough to patch honestly, and the porting team is probably concentrating on doing just that.
In the menu screen with the gas planet on nintendo switch: is it suposed to have on the left side black area that moves to simulate the planet spinning? Instead of just pure black. HArd to describe it but looks like shivering black that moves. OR is my downloaded game of isolation bugged/corrupt?
