Why is the alien walking around like a raptor and sounding like one? It doesn't feel alien at all. Just replace alien skin with raptor and you see it's not alien at all, just a raptor in it's behaviour. This game is just like the kitchen scene from Jurassic Park. Lame. And where are the weird alien sounds it made in the first movie?

None these interviews talk about level progression gameplay mechanics and how they're going to keep it from being repetitive. Not to mention characters... Same ol' same ol' "Lookit how authentic we are! :D" doesn't mean much when Gearbox did the same thing.
EDIT: Although the inclusion of the oculus rift would be interesting.

The Alien was 'voiced' by a bird impressionist in the first movie. People do complain a fair bit.

:D Naw I just mean like how they're going on about the authenticity and how they're trying to replicate the movie and all that. Faithful environments, sounds, music, retro technology, "yeah man we like made this video then we played it on a CTR screen and filmed it with a
tape recorder (edit: ?_? wut) a film camera", everything. Even this sound trailer, look at us trampling watermelons, this is so authentic. Then the alien itself seems to be veering away from that, when it's like the centerpiece. First the legs, for animation purposes, like ok, whatever I guess, no one complained about men in suits in the old games. Then the sounds too, it's gurgling like a crocodile and shit, which reminds me more of the direction they took the aliens in with the later sequels. The giga loud footsteps are kinda silly too, not exactly a master of stealth. Maybe it's meant to make it more imposing, and also easier to track its movement, so whatever.
It's just kinda silly though, like what's the point. The one thing they take creative liberties with is the iconic monster that people actually care about. I thought AVP2 is a solid game, even Alien Trilogy which is pretty much Doom with aliens. There hasn't really been a game that focuses on the first film though. Then this thing comes along and says "this is that game!" And I'm like neat, maybe they'll really capture that vibe of the first monster. And then it's actually a dinosaur that thumps around making generic guttural beast sounds. As long as they're spazzing out about being super deluxe true to the movie, I'll get hung up on the things that aren't. I mean the gameplay itself isn't anything groundbreaking, they're just riding on the presentation

Vocals wise, it was pretty much just silent when it was chilling in the wall in Alien, which would seem like a situation where it's just minding its own business. I'm pretty sure there's been a few discussions about whether or not the thing even breathes in the first place. it never made those low pitched noises when it killed people in Alien either. Actually I don't think it does that in any of the movies. Except maybe Resurrection ? ? I can't remember when I even saw it last. So I don't know why they'd feel the need to make it do that now. Nor do I see how it makes it more otherworldly, wasn't it already a giant otherworldly killer in space
Technically, this would be the largest standard Alien animated in the media, so maybe the louder footsteps are in line with the size? Like how the Queen sounds? That part in the movie where it's in the wall could be due to how it's full at that point, and just finding a place to snooze. As for breathing, it might or might not require to short term, but the dynamics of smell requires it to inhale the scent of prey. That is, if they hunt by smell, of course.

The Alien never really gets to walk anywhere in the first film - and when it does (approaching Lambert almost as if it's floating) thee's no footsteaps. Any Alien movement in the second flick is obscured by soundtrack and guns. You can hear scuttling in bits of the Alien3 and the full body shot in Resurrection after it kills Elgyn, has very light footsteps. Which is what they should be going with in the game. In the vid it seems too heavy for something walking on tippy toes. Especially for a creature that didn't make any sound while stalking Dallas in very cramped airducts.
As for the screeching - needs to be kept to minimum and must be for a reason. No screeching just 'cos like in AvP:Poo.
Well, none of those movies seem to try to draw attention to the size and weight of the creature, since more people would then ask "How the hell is it running on the walls!?" CA seems to be trying to address this in their concept of the Alien, which I would say is looking more and more individualistic than all the other ones. That's if they removed the wall running of course.
And I seem to recall the new born from AR having the same stomping sounds, can anyone verify?

I've assumed it's some kind of Van der Waals force type thing going on, like how a gecko can chill on a glass wall. Like this (http://s30.postimg.org/w45umxd8x/alienbrettr.jpg) scene where it's standing on the wall, maybe it has tons of those little claws or hairs on its soles that grip the surface. Perhaps the slime is sticky? Magic? It bleeds acid, I'm sure wall-running can be worked in there

i still like the whole concept no matter what. since AVP and AVP2 had lame story and voice acting still the atmosphere was there! and in this one...holly s*it! all over the place.
but since im getting older im more...choosey, eg; i love The Last of Us, the Uncharted serie both for the story, voicacting, atmosphere, sets, music....BUT GAMEPLAYWISE just annoying both where you can die in easy mode too just because an unforseen thing happens and you have to start all over again from the latest checkpoint...
well in case of A:I im not hoping for great story, voiceacting so they have to really really rely on the atmosphere, music and sets wich i said was enough in the case of the old AVPs.
bu we will see how this was pans out

I still need to finish Outlast but it really is that creepy, I end up wussing out of it after a while. :-\
