So my friend just told me this was happening, and I didn't see it posted anywhere already:
I don't own the game and I'm pretty sure I was playing something else when they did the free weekend recently so I've no idea how good it is personally, but I've heard good things about it here and there. And in the absence of an actual new Predator game announcement, this is certainly pretty cool (please though, somebody make an actual new Predator game. Please)!
That looks promising.
How ccome no one can recreate a ddecent Predator clicking sound anymore?
That looks really good!
Full trailer is up
as well as a live stream from earlier
Looks awesome, but why make this a limited time event? I'd pick up the game if it were a permanent mode.
This is just too cool. I mean seriously, wow. Now I'm wishing the Isolation guys would make an open world Jungle game for the Predator.
This seems very cool, I finished wildlands and was a good experience but with this, oh my. ghost recon with predator, what more could I ask for. love it unexpected yet but great and good to see something like this, about time really. even as a game mod glad something like this was made and released. happy cheers! Predator really needs a massive open world (or galaxy) game! It's just begging for it. Think of all the prey!
"Predator really needs a massive open world (or galaxy) game! It's just begging for it. Think of all the prey!"
I'd be in heaven. Random drops of prey like in "predators". And a trophy room, God the trophy room would be exquisite. Setting up hunting camps in the forest. Maybe even getting to hunt other predators sometimes, perhaps an alpha or ones who just chose to dishonor the hunt and must be punished. Endless possibilities.
Maybe a "Valley of Death" mode or DLC. Something like this set one earth that mimics the original film. It's early dawn, you're stalking through the jungle and suddenly hear the sounds of aircraft overhead. You climb to the treetops and gaze out over the valley. A half-mile in the distance, there are Blackhawk choppers dropping in special forces troops. As the first sign of the sun begins to appear at the edge of the sky, you engage your camouflage, and begin the hunt.
What other enemies would there be other than aliens and marines, though? I'm sure the novels and/or comics must tell of a bunch of other species and races that could be fair game but I haven't read any.
There's some existing ones from the comics and novels, some just mentioned in passing or some with some more details. Fire and Stone's opening sequences with Ahab being the more obvious ones but you have things like The Rage Wars or South China Sea mentioning other ones.
But the point is that any game would be an expanded universe. They'd be able to go crazy and make new X-T enemies.
I'll be playing this tonight with a friend on Xbox One. If any of you guys want in on the action, my gamer tag is Xenomrph 01
Predator : Isolation would be perfect. Just like movie "Predators" you trying to survive in a alien jungle with enemies ranging from other alien species, crazed humans and of course the Predators. Or maybe switch it around and play as a Predator in campaign.
An Evolve-style game (4v1) would be perfect for it. It really does boggle the mind when you think how long it took them to put this together.
I tried the DLC out last night, I haven't beaten it yet (the Predator kicked my ass). I don't want to go into too much detail because it's worth experiencing without spoilers, but I'll say that if you like the original Predator movie, the DLC does a good job of making you feel like you're living it.
"It really does boggle the mind when you think how long it took them to put this together."
Indeed. This should have been made the moment we entered the 3d era of gaming. It truly is a wonderful age we find ourselves in. Between this and Isolation, my childhood dreams are now playable! :)
Holy shit. That is so awesome.
Now I have to drop money on Ghost Recon just for this. Merry Christmas to myself, I guess! :)
I want the models out of this too. Seeing the

downed Predator ship totally reminded me of my AvP Fan Film idea I had years ago.
I wasn't going to buy this game at all but now I'm thinking about it..f**k...

Wildlands is a legit fun game if you like open-world tactical shooters.
I beat the Predator DLC last night with a friend, it is NOT easy with just two people. The two of us failed at it at least 10 times before we finally took the Predator out. I made a couple entertaining gameplay clips that are saved on my Xbox profile, but I'm not sure how to link them here yet.
You get some entertaining character customization options for beating the Predator, one of which is legit f**king scary:

it's facepaint that makes your face look like an unmasked Predator
Can't you get the Predator mask as well?

Can't you get the Predator mask as well?
Yes, there's two different masks. When you kill the Predator, you get a ballistic face mask that is styled like the Predator mask, and there's straps holding it on your head. There's also a much more detailed one with dreadlocks and stuff that you can get by buying a Predator-themed cosmetic DLC pack for a few bucks. It pretty much makes it look like a Predator head has been transplanted onto your body, haha.
The paid DLC pack also lets you equip Predator wrist gauntlets (and gives you a special melee kill animation with them), muddy skin paints so you can make yourself look like your covered in mud, some camo face paints modeled after those that specific characters used, Blain's hat, and a black t-shirt with the Predator logo on it.
The paid DLC is neat and I'm kinda tempted to buy it just to support and reward the devs for doing the cool free Predator DLC, but I'm not sure yet.
I'll probably pick this up during the Steam Holiday Sale that should begin any day now.
RidgeTop, Xenomorphine, myself and one of my buddies had a wack at this yesterday. It was difficult! When 2 of us went down, it was just difficult to recover. Guess we need to actually level up before trying the bonus mission!
I dug it, though. The Predator is rock solid but it does feel a little like artificial difficulty and like the Predator is "cheating" when it suddenly disappears, not cloaks, just disappears, to move around the map.

YASS to all of this. Hopefully The Predator movie will open some new doors in the gaming industry for a Predator game.
I've never played Ghost Recon but I recently watched TheRadBrad play the Predator mission solo. It's a fun watch as he's got a great personality. Maybe some of you will find it entertaining.

Edit: I hope they do something like this in Red Dead Redemption 2!!!
I thought it was pretty neat for what it was. However, I was a bit disappointed with the Predator's AI.
It made me really want a proper Predator game. It's been too long since Concrete Jungle.
This looks pretty good. Considering getting the game just for the DLC, but its close to 60 EUR in Steam.
Really enjoyed the whole build up to the big fight! Thought they nailed it for being a side mission...but now this makes me want a dedicated predator game!
Wildlands is currently -55% in Steam.
Somehow we haven't shared these here - https://www.artstation.com/artwork/k9emz
QuoteI was very fortunate to get to create the Predator for a Ghost Recon Wildlands special event released December 14th 2017. I modelled and textured the character from scratch based on photographs supplied by 20th Century Fox of the original costume. I've always been a huge fan of Predator - so I was very excited to get the chance to create an official licensed version of the creature originally designed by Stan Winston for the 1987 Predator movie. Everything was modelled in 3ds Max and Zbrush and textured in Substance Painter. For the key art I simply rendered the in-game model with a few modifications in Octane Render. Character and renders were done in about 2 months.

Great production values, guys. A lot of work has gone into it.
Haven't seen anything about this dlc. Never played a Ghost Recon game before. It's nice though that he seems to be appearing more in third party games.
Thanks, D. I'm pretty sure we covered it on the front page. I'm glad we got through it and completed it but not sure I'll revisit it. I am absolutely dying for a solo Predator game though. It's really time.
When I buy the game, how long would I have to play to get to this mission? As I understand, I also need to do some playing "leveling up" to be able to beat him?
Corporal Hicks totally agree on the need of the game about Predator with the open universe (traveling from planet to planet for the hunt of better trophies). And also agree on the need of using designs from second movie(city hunter and lost hunters), they are so unique and charismatic ;)
I'm considering purchasing this game on PS4. However I'd heard that the DLC was temporary (the DLC being the main reason I want the game). Does anyone know if the DLC is going away any time soon or if it's here to stay?
They did an amazing job designing the Predator for Ghost Recon. Nice video and can agree on there needing to be a new Predator game with unique pred designs. Open world would definitely be a different and fun take for clans- would be awesome for multiplayer.

Glad you think so, D. I'm still pretty new when it comes to editing but I'm learning. Definitely want to expand our presence on the YouTube side of things this year.

The Predator mission itself will always be playable, however the rewards for completing the challenge were a timed thing. As far as I know there is currently not a way to unlock the Predator helmet you get for defeating him. But there is another Predator helmet in the cosmetic pack.

I'd definitely do a few missions to get to grips with the game. We attempted the mission a few times before really doing much levelling up but didn't complete it. We did some more of the actual game to get kit and stuff to take it on again. I'd say a good few hours were spent on the actual game itself before I managed to take down the Predator.

Good to know. Will grab the game on the next Steam Sale.
I love this added "bonus" mission in the game. When I first bought it(I double dipped for the PC and PS4 Pro!) one of the first things I told my brothers and my 2 sons-"Wouldn't it be bad ass for the Predator to show up in game!"
Looks like I wasn't the only one who was thinking that. The engine(I believe it's their custom Snowdrop Graphics engine) Ubisoft uses is amazing and I really hope Ubisoft will court Walt Disney Studios once the deal is done for ownership.
Fingers crossed and kudos to Ubisoft for keeping the mission active for ALL players who own the base game. Not having to buy the mission and them keeping it open is a nice gesture to the community/players, especially after the bullshit EA lootboxes that ruined Star Wars Battlefront 2.
Cheers!
Red Sparrow is out, but there still no trailer for the movie :-[
Finally managed to solo this... Using the two trees by the ammo box and the HTI for the first 3/4s of the fight and then an assualt rifle towards the end as he fires quicker than the draw of the HTI at that stage...

Nice. As you could see in that video I had to rely on the diving behind a rock technique myself.

That was always just a guess. Personally I'm thinking it'll be with Deadpool 2 in May, considering the delay.
RidgeTop yeh I know, just really hoped for the trailer, (back last year) Shane even said something about january 2018, but it never happened, so just a little bit tired of waiting games :-
Ubisoft has sharing some stats on Wildlands, including some figures on the Predator event: https://news.ubisoft.com/article/ghost-recon-wildlands-celebrates-10-million-players-in-its-first-year

3% success rate, that's awesome. :D
Makes me feel pretty chuffed about beating it.
Although Predator hasn't had a proper outing since the bizarrely creative Concrete Jungle he seems to be a master at cameoing in other games.
Will they ever bring this event back, is my question.
You can still do the mission. Just can't get the prizes.

Does that go for all of them including the new Splinter Cell Sam Fisher's mission?
It was still playable when I was on at the weekend. But I've no idea about the prize situation for that one. I've not tried it yet.
Sam Fisher is now in this also? Damn, I am late to the party.
We're replaying the Predator mission of Ghost Recon: Wildlands before it's gone forever!
