Even that just didn't seem worth it to me. Something that didn't give a shit if I was around other than if there was a mouse in my hand and I had to clean his shit up a couple times a week.
Sounds like you're talking about a cat. ;D

Yeah, snakes aren't very intelligent or fun--but they're beautiful. Like tropical fish, etc. Except they are something you can actually handle and interact with.

Very true. It's always a highlight for me to actually see one just because they're so fun to watch. Whether they're moving slow or fast or you're holding it in your hands, there's nothing else like them in the world. It just sucks when they squirt shit out all over you. And then if they bite you just never stop bleeding even if it doesn't hurt!  ;D

I'm sounding more anti-snake than I am. Don't get me wrong, when I meet people who say they kill snakes with shovels and stomp on them for just seeing them I want to punch that person in the face.

Yes, I'm scared of snakes...  :-\
Why? Have you ever seen one in actuality? They're very beautiful, and the vast majority are completely harmless.
Oh yes, at all kinds at animal parks and yes they are beautiful to look at.

There's just something about them that doesn't agree with me, perhaps irrationally .... let's nok talk about big spiders either...  :P

Big spiders I'll agree with you on. :P But snakes are lovely. If you want to get over your fear of them, have someone let you play with a ball python--they're very cute and gentle, even cuddly in their own way.

Turtles have always been my favorite animal. I would love to own one at some point :)

I used to own a green Anole like the one Cvalda just recently bought. They're fun little guys.

Fanatics of Reptiles? Of all kinds?
This is the thread for you! Questions, scientific articles, videos, pictures, discussions on the lovely primeval scaly creatures go here.

Let's get sssstarted.
http://www.labuanbajo-flores.com/images/awas-komodo.jpg
In '07 I toured their Archipelago and went to Borneo too.
We saw Komodo Dragons up close, loadsa' huge, impressive males and a fight between two, a hilarious little baby and a buffalo mauled by one.
Everybit as badass as you'd imagine.

Also I have a pet Yemen Chameleon. Used to have a Frilled Dragon but he died.

Wikipedia pretty much covers that.
