Well that certainly makes sense in the context of the story. But every time I play it, I keep hearing a strong "h" sound at the beginning of the word.

Denda, that also would make a certain sense. However, the word (to my ears) sounds like it is only one syllable. "Hire" is two syllables. No matter how many times I listen to it, the word sounds like it starts with an "h"...that is why I can't hear the word "made", as previously mentioned by brodels.
Could it be...."why did they even hate us in the first place"? That also doesn't really make sense. The only thing that does make sense is "made", but I just don't hear that. Weird. I am probably losing my hearing.

Yeah I can remember thinking that too, lol. Another thing that's never gone away is, when I heard about this giant head that's supposed to pilot the Jockey ship, long before we saw anything of the film, there were even rumours that it was a living part of the Juggernaught. Can't really see it happening now but, at the same time, nothing would suprise me about this movie either!

I agree with Corporal Dwayne Hicks!! I live in the US and that sounds like a plan! I don't mind cutting it off after ALIENS. I will be looking for the ALIEN vibe in Prometheus. I have to wait until I come back from the Star Trek Convention in Nashville on June 9th & 10th before I see the film in JAX Florida in 3D! I might have to wait until the following weekend before I can see it. I KNOW-HOW COULD YOU???? By that time it will be safe to see it without all of the noise, texting & kids crying in the show! I am taking my son (who is the same age I was watching ALIEN for the first time) & I know it will blow our minds!
This is going to be EPIC! I know this will be the BEST film of the year!!!!!!!!
(Don't start the AVENGERS argument-that is a totally different type of film & should NOT be compared to Prometheus!!!)

Really? I would have thought probably after the first temple visit, when they are a little more clued up about what they have found, but who knows? There might be much larger clues than the cave paintings in the first act.
Maybe, just maybe, after watching the entire film it might make a bit more sense as to why the characters in the film believe the engineers are our makers? Maybe a 2 minute trailer isn't enough context to get pissed about?

From the latest Prometheus TV spot it seems that the engineer is only 7 to 8 ft tall and not the original 15 ft from alien.
