It doesn't make sense from a marketing standpoint to have a facebook and twitter page up but not a teaser website. But who knows.
The Thing prequel had a Facebook up way before their site went online.

Viral marketing usually begins before anything official is published. Just a fact of life. Word on the street about a new science fiction film by Ridley Scott will travel much faster on social networking sites.
So it really does look like the facebook page is official since their followers are growing rapidly. Maybe it was advertised at comic con as well...

One thing is certain tho. Both of those "domain names" were sure taken by web speculators. It's very unusual that the same random person would have registered them both. Unless it's really Fox there and they claimed them as theirs. I think they are pretty much legit.

You're not the only one wondering that.
I wouldn't call this early tbh. They have already shown footage of the new film and discussed it at some convensions. Now i doubt the general public will see any form of footage any time soon but that dosen't stop them from starting the viral marketing campaign now
It would be great if we got a viral campaign now, but we've yet to see that happen.

I wouldn't expect so. There's been a few Prometheus domains registered for some time.
But if you tried to enter in those demains were they redirecting to the fox page as well?

That one never redirected to Fox's site and registration hasn't expired yet. IIRC the .co.uk domain was being used by a fan-site until recently. Most likely Fox claimed it and since the domain was already getting traffic redirected it to their site. I'm sure both domains are going to be used in the future.
Looks more like AVPR font for some reason to me. Like the font at the credits roll.

My my money is its a fake page like that trailer. Why would fox make a separate page when they could turn the official Alien facebook page into the Prometheus official page.

The guy who runs that fan group is dangerously crazy. Same posts every day, in succession. Then he will repeat and repeat day in day out. I don't quite understand what he thinks he's accomplishing.
