Yeah he really is. The lack of the normal Hollywood spin or prepared answers in this interview is amazing. He is such a breath of fresh air and I believe we are amazingly fortunate as a fandom to have him.

I suppose it's still possible (not inevitable, of course, merely possible) that, one day, you might end up thinking the shitty new Metallica album isn't so bad after all.

But yeah, much agreed. I've loved listening to him. This is a great interview, and I'm much looking forward to AVPG's own upcoming sit-down with him. (Wish I was clever enough to add some insightful questions to the relevant thread. I should try to push myself harder.) He gives off such a refreshing air -- down-to-earth, open-hearted, self-aware; they're all qualities I love in people, so when they show up in active creators, it's something to really be thankful for, like dkwookie said. Hope his next film (original, from what he's said) manages to hit the spot for you and others here!
