Alien vs Predator was first released on DVD in the UK in March 2005 which featured an Extended Opening in Antarctica. The two-disc version was titled ‘AvP: Extreme Edition’ which obviously had a lot more features. An Unrated version was released in the US in November 2005 which featured a few new scenes re-inserted as well as more blood in some scenes. (See AvP Theatrical vs Unrated for more info). Eventually, the Unrated cut made its way over to the UK in September 2007 under the title AvP: Definitive Edition. The main difference between the US and UK DVD releases is the deleted scenes. The US only had 3 separate deleted scenes whereas the UK version had 11.
Blu-Ray
The Alien vs Predator Blu-Ray set was first released in the US on January 23, 2007 and in the UK on April 9, 2007. It features both Theatrical and Unrated Cuts via seamless branching. All the featurettes from the DVDs are completely missing in the Blu-Ray sets though. The Alien vs Predator Steelbook version containing the Blu-Ray was released September 22, 2014 in the UK.
