Petrovich

Petrovich was the chief engineer aboard the USCSS Maginot. Petrovich was killed by Morrow after he discovered he was the saboteur. Petrovich appears in the 2025 FX Series Alien: Earth and is played by Enzo Cilenti.

Biography

Aboard The Maginot

Petrovich was the chief engineer aboard the USCSS Maginot, working closely with Shmuel and Malachite. 65 years ago, Weyland-Yutani sent the USCSS Maginot, including Petrovich and the crew, on a gathering mission to find alien lifeforms and bring them back to Earth.

Petrovich had a partner on the ship who died during the mission. He begins to have doubts about the mission, the time it has taken and that he’s not getting paid much for it. At some point, Petrovich started having frequent conversations with Boy Kavalier, CEO of Prodigy Corp, about the lifeforms they had found. Kavalier says if he can land the ship in his area, he’ll be incredibly rich. Petrovich says he wants a new body and Kavalier says not yet, but Petrovich will be at the top of the list.

4 Months From Earth

In the year 2120, the crew of the Maginot awoke from hypersleep. They were 805 million miles away from Earth and are four months away from reaching Earth. In the mess hall, the crew are having something to eat. The crew start talking about the companies that control Earth. Petrovich says that Prodigy deals with synths and AI, which was started by a kid ten years ago.

Captain Dinsdale says that Comms are down, the log files are corrupt and they are burning too much fuel. Morrow says security will investigate the issues. The Captain wants to see what systems they can shut down. One crew member suggests shutting down the ‘zoo’ with the specimens. Morrow reminds the crew that the specimens are the mission’s primary objective. Morrow and Sullivan re-enter hypersleep and Petrovich gives the impression that he does.

Sabotaging the Maginot

Around 17 days before reaching Earth, Petrovich deliberately started a fire in the containment area and opened the containers that held the Alien Eggs. Captain Dinsdale and Bronski entered to extinguish the fire but were attacked by two Facehuggers that had escaped. The fire also damaged the navigation system and engine relays, which means the crew have lost control of the ship. Petrovich tries to cover his tracks and deletes anything that could incriminate him. He also alters the computer to make it appear as if he’s in hypersleep.

Later, Petrovich damages a fuel pod on the ship, causing it to lose fuel. Morrow recovers the deleted files and realises that Petrovich is the saboteur and has been working with Boy Kavalier. Morrow rushes to the cryochamber, hoping to find Petrovich, but he’s missing.

Death

En route to the cryopods, Petrovich sees Morrow and Clem and immediately fires upon them. Clem is hit and Morrow drags him into the nearby lab. Petrovich fatally hits Clem in the head, killing him. Morrow runs out of the other door and sneaks up on Petrovich, impaling him through the chest with his cybernetic arm.

Personality and Traits

Petrovich became disillusioned with the mission after his partner died getting the life forms and tried to make a deal with Weyland-Yutani’s adversary, Boy Kavalier at Prodigy Corp. He deliberately sabotaged the ship and caused two crew members to be attacked by Facehuggers. As the chief engineer, he knew exactly how to cripple the ship so the crew couldn’t fix it.
