Alien Covenant 2, or Alien Awakening, is the possible sequel to Alien Covenant and Prometheus. John Logan has already written the script and Ridley Scott will presumably direct the film.
Alien Covenant 2 Current Status
Ridley Scott said throughout production of Alien Covenant, that he had two more sequels planned, possibly a third as well. There is some confusion as to whether ‘Alien Awakening’ is the title of it. Scott has used the title in previous interviews but in others, he also used it referring to Neill Blomkamp’s cancelled project. Scott said that the script for the next movie had already been written and in May 2017, he said they would begin shooting within 14 months and the movie would be out within a year and 9 months. After Alien Covenant was released, box office takings weren’t as high as expected and there were rumours that 20th Century Fox was ‘reassessing‘ the future of the Alien franchise. As of right now, any future movies in the Prometheus series are in limbo.

Alien Covenant 2 Cast
There have been no official announcements of returning cast members. It’s to be expected that Michael Fassbender would return to play David again given the way Alien Covenant ended. I would assume Katherine Waterston has to return too but again, there have been no announcements.
Alien Covenant 2 Storyline
The script has already been written by John Logan who did extensive rewrites to Alien Covenant‘s script. Alien Covenant ended as David tricked Daniels into believing he was the other android Walter. As she entered hypersleep, David regurgitated two Facehugger embryos and stored them with the human embryos. In a separate feature on the Alien Covenant Blu-Ray set, it is revealed that David wanted to make a Queen Alien and was possibly going to use Daniels as the host. The second sequel that Ridley Scott had planned was going to loop back around to the original Alien, possibly with the crashed Derelict Spacecraft in LV-426. There were also some rumours that Daniels was going to be Ripley’s mother.
Ridley Scott spoke a little about the story for Alien Covenant 2 in June 2017 and said the Engineers would make an appearance.
“They’ll be three or four different players coming in to investigate. One of which will be the Engineers arriving back to find their planet decimated. I think those ships come and go on regular intervals. I see them as the gardeners of space. Where we go next is obvious. We’re gonna actually go to the planet. In so doing…I’m not going to tell you the story!”

An Alien Covenant 2 is an absolute must. Scott and the writers of both the Alien and now the Blade Runner series have created living mythology, and this is passing over into the religious. Dune and meager Childhood’s End efforts are similar, but they come nowhere close to achieving the popularity of Scott’s films that far surpass being “cult”. No producer will ever regret the long-term impact of Scott’s works that will be viewed a classics through ages. The original Alien and Blade Runner are ample evidence of this.
Covenant was an amazing movie but it left a massive hole at the same time I feel like the films have been made in the right order but there would have been more excitement and anticipation if covenant had been released before Prometheus at least then we would not have cared too much about the gaps left by covenant I say gaps more like the very vague explanation of events that occoured between the two movies I know having a half hour of David playing a doctor Frankenstein stint would have been dull and there was no other way of doing things and making a movie follow up with the same story background and fresh cast isn’t east but this is why I think they should have made the movies 2 then 1 then 3 save on certain disappointments but all the alien movies have been special and amazing in there own way you always want to know more and the suspense gets better each time

Man i cant wait for it to come out, finally a movie where we see the engineers planet and see you their culture and ways are. Relating to their technology and xenomorph. The engineer was so amazing looking and had such a mysterious technology. I hope they do a series also of it. All the alien movies was so well done. I liked alien 1 and alien resurrection. Now prometheus is just a teaser but covenant gave it a twist and made prometheus so interesting. Ill will be wainting first in line for the ticket release.

I hope we get the next chapter as much as I would rather see the original script I still find it interesting but it annoyed me that we now have an Android creating one of the most deadly creatures in movies still to this day would have much rather the.engineers created the xeno to be fair it would have been the egg or facehugger first but would love to have seen creation in a very strange and weird way and then lead to the ultramorph that must have burst from the engineer we saw in the very first movie.but it could still happen I suppose in the 3rd movie.some people say alien fans could ruin it but to be fair isn’t it us fans buying all the merchandise like film’s t shirts books games and figures that have kept said franchise alive

not sure what to make about a covenant sequel as i think ridley ruined the alien story line saying david created the xeno to be fair i was hoping we would see the engineers creating the xeno or experimenting on something like a neomorph or similar with very strange and weird ways to bring around the very first xenomorph hopefully this can still be the case just having david trying to recreate the engineer experiment but slightly different as the protomorph if that really is what the beast was called wasnt as intelligent as what we have seen from the xenomorphs in past fims especially where it attacked the crane daniels was using.hope something different happens like that because all ridley did was create a monster when he really could have had something amazing but he has failed to capture the spirit of the first film that started the franchise hopefully fox can do something drastic to bring back alien as it should be
