I agree, to an extent. I had misgivings when you first see the Fugitive walk by and he moved unlike any other predator I'm familiar with. Jungle hunter and City hunter did not move like that... Oh, how I miss Kevin Peter Hall.
Only thing I can say about him killing the lab people is that they were holding him captive and obviously not being friendly. The rest I totally agree with.
Second movie where classic Predator takes a back seat to a new "improved " variant, and then dies to it. A shame.
I wouldn't call that mess a Predator movie . you liked it? Groovy. I would never tell anyone else what to like, but, this movie was more about an obnoxious sniper, his kid, army rejects and humans killing humans than it was about Predator. Even the Pred motives go beyond the norm..
For me, it was just a wasted opportunity.
Speak for yourself. Even the fugitive was shit. It didn't act anything like the true Predators of the first two films. Nothing it did made sense and it came off more as a man in a suit than an actual character. Killing people it, was here to save? Brutally killing and hanging a guy in the first ten mins in a contrived manner just to say to the audience, "hey everyone look, it's a skinned, hanging guy in the trees! Look out its the predator!" made no sense especially since it wasn't here for trophies.
Predators don't hang everyone they kill unless it's for trophies possibly to eat later though this is never confirmed. This movie is basically a bag of terrible ideas sprinkled with what the common audience member thinks of when they think of predator. No one should be considering their half cocked thoughts ever when making any film. Make a good story simple as that.
My only negative is the leaks I saw implied the humans were fighting together with the fugitive predator, but that really has nothing to do with the movie. Be cool to see humans and predators fight together again like in AVP and the comics
One of the most difficult military courses to pass, both physically and mentally with a very, very low pass rate. In order to be selected for a sniper cardre you have to be one of the very best and experienced soldiers that your regiment has to offer and even then most don't even pass the gruelling selection phase, let alone the course itself. A job role that involves a HELL of a lot more than just pointing a long rifle a target from distance.
But hey.........just a sniper.
Did Olivia Munn get a co-directing credit?
Flawed? Yes!
Does something different? Absolutely.
Enjoyable? Yep.
@ avp-capcom.. couldn't have put it better man... yea its not the most fantastic/Oscar worthy/chin dribbly film of the decade..... but its awesome in its own right, its a predator movie at the end of the day and it had all it needed in my opinion ( and im sure im not the only pred nerd that thinks so).... also thought avp-r was awesome, il admit, the outcome was edited bad with all the dark tones, it was ridiculous n unnecessary tbh, I saw a fan made video where they brightened it up and it was great... Iain white was amazing as wolf, the characteristics were flawless!
One would think in the month before release all this extra time was about polishing the movie
TERMINATOR is redundant junk as it it no longer scary since "the future of now" tagline literally is now........nothing remotely close in the real-world happened so that technophobia is betamax.
Although I respect any opinion and that includes Ramboralph4life I was taken aback that many people I subscribed to didn't like it? Fair play I like AVP-R whereas many don't.
That said one person namely General Lotz (remember him?) like THE PREDATOR so check it out if you are burned out on people bashing this film.
His other reviews are also entertaining once you get used to his laid-back, albeit peter pan, presenting style.
