Alien: Rogue Incursion Nominated for Best VR Game at The Game Awards!

Alien: Rogue Incursion has been nominated for Best VR or AR game at The Game Awards taking place next month on December 11th. Though the VR version of the game came out in late 2024, it released after the nomination cutoff point for last year’s show.

Winners for the show are chosen with a 90% jury vote and 10% public vote. That 10% can definitely put a game over the edge, so if you’d like to see developer Survios receive this award for Alien: Rogue Incursion, head on over to the Game Awards website to cast your vote.

The Game Awards also typically include numerous game premieres and announcements. There are a number of Alien games currently in development, including the follow up to Alien: Rogue Incursion Part I, so we’ll be keeping an eye out for a possible new reveal during the show.

You can watch The Game Awards live on Thursday. Dec. 11 at 7:30P ET / 4:30P PT / 12:30A+1 GMT.

I don't want a game based off Aliens. I want a VR game of Aliens. I played Electric Dreams Aliens in the 80s on my Speccy until the tape broke and the idea we could have an actual game of Aliens with the tech available today is a prospect I would relish. I want to be surrounded by Hick, Vaz, Apone, Drake when it all goes down and also create alternative ending. One can dream.

My personal dream ( I'm sure quite many here share the same ) has always been to make a game based off of Aliens. So a toast to the developers for this nomination.

I haven't played the game though I do have a headset. I would love to experience it in VR to see and feel the environments and the aliens up close. However after watching videos of the title I feel it still doesn't capture the essence - which is good news in that regard that I could still get a chance to do it and make it right ( 'HA!' in Edna Krabappel voice ). I bought A : Fireteam Elite and could play it for about 10 minutes and this has that same Kenner Aliens vibe even though the graphics are semi realistic.

' Oh no, aliens! ' * empties 40 rounds of M41A into one alien* *acid sprays on face* ' hnngh, aargh ' -10HP

I'm not sure if this is how the players want this so thats why it keeps being delivered like this. So count me out of everything, because for me, this aint it. It's close, but no donut. For me the difference is fundamental. I understand that a game doesn't have to emulate the film, but if the film emulated the games it would be a bargain bin B flick with cheesy believability issues.
