Predator: Badlands Soundtrack Now Available!

It’s November 7th! And that means today is the general release of Predator: Badlands throughout most of the world, and releasing alongside the film is Benjamin Wallfisch & Sarah Schachner’s absolutely fantastic score for the film. I noted in my review that the duo’s work gave Badlands “a particularly unique, but still very Predator sonic identity” that I couldn’t wait to listen to again in isolation, so I have been really excited about this release!

Respect the idea. It is very menacing and heavily militaristic theme that itself burns with heat and conflict that reflects the human protagonist going to war against the alien hunter from the stars.

The soundtrack here reflects a more advanced and tribalistic action/adventurous tone that follows Dek into the world. Just kind of wished we had some of that extra tribal energy from the Predator 2 soundtrack, like 15% or so.

The music that plays when Billy and Lambert do their last stands against the Predator could've been quite fitting during the Dad/Kwei fight.
  3. Yautja Lore
Was giving someone a lift yesterday and when I started the car the soundtrack resumed playing, since that's what I was listening to before. I think it was either the "Dek of the Yautja" or the "Infiltration" track.
The person is a normie and looked at the screen in a funny way, so I decided it was best to change to a more "normal" playlist.

I heard a few motifs from Predator sprinkled through in different instruments.

I liked Tessa's theme but that's literally the only thing I can remember. Film scores are a dead art.

Probably not listen to it by itself but in the context of the film, far superior to most others in the franchise.

The soundtrack is definitely one of the best ones made for Predator. I feel like it captures the predator perfectly so much that you can easily put it over scenes with previous ones and it fits really well. It's especially nice to listen to while playing any games with them in it

I might be in the minority here but I think this score is split down the middle here.

It's either perfect or just subpar.

The perfect parts are at the beginning and any action scenes. I think it captures the mood very well. Especially in the first 30min

Once we start getting into the more emotional stuff the score feels like it drags out for me. Between the acting and the music it feels like it's trying to hard to make this a family movie with some sad rift where we got to all come together. Just didn't work for me

I was lukewarm on the Prey score, but it still has one or two good, memorable themes. Badlands' score has none. There were a couple of bits I thought were cool as I was listening to them, but five minutes later I couldn't remember them at all.

Easily the weakest score for a Predator movie to date. It was all just forgettable, generic movie music with a bit of chanting near the beginning.

As I believe I said earlier in the thread, I felt pretty lukewarm on the Prey score. It always fit with and enhanced the scenes well enough but never wowed me or stuck with me

The Badlands one f**king slaps though.

I could have done with the theme being used properly at least once, and if it was hidden in the score like Prey I haven't been able to pick up on it after 3 watches. But still - what an awesome score! Going to be heavy in the work rotation over the next couple of months.

Ok but when is the Yautja version of Wolf Totem by The Hu is going to get released? How was something that powerful for a teaser just never utilized in the film? Especially with the connection that track has in relation with the story.
